It's good to see Kenny and Harley with a smiles on their faces. I know it can be hard sometimes when you are going through a rough time. Can't wait to see Kenny making a pass in his car.
I want to see Harley make a few hits on the second Gen when they get that up and running. Kenny might not get 'his' car back!
@@andrewbieger5004 Kenny has a 3rd gen.
@@dawnmclees let’s just hope it brings yrs of enjoyment to Kenny and his family. It’s good to see that they are around great family like the Hoskinson’s and have people that care about them.
@@cliffheard1970 Your right such a feel good story!!
Too busy working on the Malibu and Pickup… no time for Kenny’s junk
I'd love to see Uncle Bucko street rod that old Chevy!! That would be a great project for the channel & your favorite brother. At least give us a new shop update.
👍
Ohhh lordy lordy here we go with Mr Bill making MORE power and hitting it even harder off the launch... hold on little 10 bolt hold on! In Kenny Powers news... we're in the shopping wrapping up his exhaust as we speak! Fingers crossed as long as this all goes the way we think it will he'll have her back by the weekend!
Just wondering do you all pay for all your parts or do you have sponsors like jegs, lucore etc. And if so how do get sponsors
Harlie looked like this wasn’t her first rodeo! Look forward to seeing Kenny’s car out there at the spot!
What inspires me about this particular video is your wealth of knowledge and all the help that you give people or at least the ones that want to listen it seems endless you're downright surgical with it 🔧👍🏿
I hope y'all get a house soon. Kenny and Harley, y'all just continue to hold your head up and the Lord will provide.
This is the channel and content I've wished someone would do for years and you have nailed it with this episode, I knew you would get past all the little speedbumps last year. Thanks Bill!
Yet another great bit of content Bill, I’m loving the progress and the way you’re going about it on the Malibu. Poor Scrappy😎
So cool Harley is learning to pour a puddle and back you up, and she’s more talkative than KP😊
The Malibu is looking and sounding great. I can't wait for Kenny to get his car back so you 2 can line up and run them I've had 3 of the ones like his and loved them all. I can't drive anymore because my eyes went and I'm almost blind but still love cars and racing. I enjoy watching your family with all of the vehicles. You all take care and keep racing
You helped me with my tuning problems...THANKS A MILLION BILL!!!!!
Sounds like everything is going in the right direction now. Look forward to seeing some numbers now
Had the same issue with my SB Fairlane, swapped out the Super Victor intake for a street application and noticed a huge performance gain for the rpm range I was running. I'm sure you'll see a big difference as well Bill. Great content as usual. 🇺🇸
Love watching this family on all 3 channels I can’t believe this channel hasn’t hit 100k subs yet keep up the great videos guys
Awesome video guys! It's good to see Kenny and Harley happy. You are doing a great thing keeping them employed...
Bill When I seen that Malibu come outta the Hole I immediately knew that was an improvement! I’d just about bet your 60 foot will be better! 😉Great job 👍😁👍
At first I wasn’t a G body fan but it tends to grow on you. Keep up the great content. Go see your dad more 😊 My dad is 86 and lives in another state. Phone calls work it is just not the same. Love what you do…
Hey Bill! Very cool info! Wonderful detail and if anybody was paying attention we learned a little something tonight. Thanks for the great content and Miss Harley did a fantastic job on the staging process! Great job Harley! Little by little you are chopping down the go process and I think you will see some vast improvements on the Malibu. Keep plugging away at it and you will achieve your goals. Per normal stay safe!! 😀😀❤️
The team G runners seems to go from smaller to larger which may create a venturi affect in the runners which helps keep the air speed up for better carb signal
My son and I love watching your videos. Is like watching a mini series every time.
I'm old enough to remember when the Victor series manifolds were just released. They were advertised in the drag mags as upper rpm, full race manifolds. So when I first heard that you were going to park one on a mild street/strip engine, I kinda went 'ummmm'.
To be fair He has a much different Victor manifold. The Jr really is for milder apps. I don't know how the plenum area's compare between the Team G and the Jr, but the Jr matches a FelPro 1205 gasket. The heads he has more than likely match a 1206 gasket. So port match a Jr or just bolt on the Team G.
Way 2 go Harlie.👍👍👍 Kenny P., you have a new Crew Chief. Great job everyone.
Harley looked like a pro at burnouts great job
I need a T-shirt of Kenny smoking that cig working on the car 🤘🤘 I would buy it !!lol
Was not expecting another video so soon. Awesome work as always
Another great video, Bill & thanks for the tech segment - always a great way to start my day. !...
So excited to see Kennys camaro. Be great to see him racing. So glad to see that the malibus running well now.
Miss Harley has confidence I like that she's such an angel Ken he's a good man they make a good . are like America's sweethearts
Love the content bill, keeping me sane in Australia during some isolation while i have covid. Cant wait to come to the states and see you and the boys race some no prep.
thanks for the video! ready to see how the new intake works!
Thanks Bill for another awesome video, You are definitely the professor of the old school small block Chevy!
You have helped me learn carbs so much better. I am running a brawler on my malibu although it is ls im glad i have learned to tune it my self watching your videos! Keep up the good entertainment. Thanks for teaching us!
Great video Bill!, I learned something new about intake manifolds which is very helpful!. I'm glad you got the Malibu running great and I cant wait to see what it runs down the track!.
Really enjoyed your video. The info on the the two intakes is invaluable with my new 383 build..
Look forward to next videos.
Can’t wait to see how it runs on spray. Thanks for the great content as always
It's nice to see you explain stuff that your doing! You get those people who think they are know it alls an that just pushes people away! Thank you for keeping it real an enjoy your videos Bill!
Looks like Miss Harley is a natural! She looked like she’s been doin that for years, 😁👍🏻👍🏻
I work for Charlie's automotive for 30 years and Charlie was the big block master and I love him very much and he pass away but I watch you bill and you remind me of him alot keep up the videos coming and thank you and family God bless you all
I love waking up before work and watching with my Lil man!! He loves that guitar! Great content buddy keep it comin
This was a great video!!! Thanks Bill!
I'd be willing to bet that the half of an exhaust system (dumps before the axle) you have on the car is generating low frequency harmonics that bother the dog.
Do you ever sleep lol. Salute Old Man. Thank You for all the Videos.
Doctor Bill has a nice ring to it due to you will always help anyone that ask diagnose a engine and tune concern. Harley did a awesome job and I'm sure she had the perfect teacher looking forward to Kenny making his first hit in his camaro. Poor scrapy she looked so scared. Bill your doing a awesome job with these classes and it sounds like you may have of found your problem or at least I hope so. God bless all of you and as always be safe 👍
Harley is a natural at pouring puddles and talking to the camera! Love her!
You said exactly what I was going to say!!
thank you I appreciate you explaining nutts and bolts of high performance,,,,, because many shopes do not want to explain the foundation of high performance with engines..... It helps me understand our world of basic 101 high performance. You do a great job!!!! I am rebuilding a crazy 3v 302 mustang bullitt 2008
Perfect choice on the Intake manifold and spacer I like the team G manifold I have one with the Q-jet flange and I've used the 8004 on a 327 and you're right the ports are little large I had to trim factory intake gaskets I know you're a busy guy but don't forget to retighten everything after you run it for awhile. Thanks for the videos.
Harley will be the star. Mark my words. Bill knows. Bill building his team.
Loving the content, keep up the great work.
Old Man,
Thanks for the upload. Great content as always. Just my opinion on the setup:
I've seen all the data for the dual plane, and short runner intakes vs. the long-runner single planes. They'll pick up 30 under the curve(massive), and only sacrifice 5hp at the peak(marginal). It makes for a much flatter curve and a more "usable" powerband.
Although, I've always given advice to people to not ask the motor to pick up slack in the drivetrain if they're trying to go fast. Let the motor make max power, and ask the drivetrain to use that power efficiently. I think you're doing the opposite. Trying to make your motor more static, because your drivetrain isn't able to deal with a dynamic motor. A motor that is "peaky" as I say.
I believe the weak link is in your converter. What is the stall speed and diameter of that converter? I've personally picked up 8-tenths going from a 3400 to a 4000 converter at the speeds you're running. But I get it if you want a streetcar and can't drive a bigger converter.
I knew a video was coming tonight lol Thanks for the good content as always love watching hope all is well .
Moving right along with the Malibu can’t wait to see that thing doing the ole G-body shuffle! Cool video OldMan..
Well well well look what I just stumbled on a new freshly uploaded video
Well Done! From a gear head of the 80's! And old one today but an hour tasks takes days. But one day soon BluePrint Engine delivery in June. First STROKER motor I didn't build. But think power adder 540 may fit my needs at high mileage 70...lol. Thank You for Sharing!
Your videos are awesome to watch and amazing and you guys are awesome people
Thank you for the entertainment this makes my day, I would love to see what a performer RPM-two would do
I remember as a young man watching American Graffiti the first time. Paul's yellow Ford,Harrison Ford's Chevy. I was hooked. Hope the new intake works better when you get it dialed.
Another great video Bill, having the right intake that works good with the cam and heads and carb is key to optimum performance. Sometimes you have to do some research to find the right one but it pays off. I personally like the weiland intakes better myself, and have always had good luck with them performance wise. Loving the content as always keep up the good work.
Great job on your schooling to puddle poring and backing up the car harlie and I am finally spelling your name right
Love everything u do man I look up to u every man needs to c how a real man holds it dwn n takes care of friends n family
Beautiful Clean Malibu Bill you guys do great work I must say though I truly love miss Vikki’s 66 I had the same truck when I was 17 and lost it been saving up for another great channel great content
You've almost made it to 100k, I love this channel. You remind me so much of my old man!
I’m glad you installed the piston stop and verified tdc to set timing up correctly 👌 I’d considered mentioning it in comments before but figured you do it when you got time which you have now!
Super cool seeing harlie helping test! I was thinking about going to Kildare for the test n tune too to get some passes in before the rewind!! 👀
Nice vidja again keep it up love the G-body
Harley it looked like you have been pouring puddles and backing vehicles in their tracks for decades great job! Nice to see that sparkle in Harley & Kenny eyes again! Great see a smile on your face as well Sr! Sounded much better this time! Good luck this week and weekend as well! ✌
Thanks Bill for what you do
I can't wait until the nitrous upgrades. I want to learn how to use it as safely as possible.
Seriously I/we truly appreciate what you are doing. Not everyone would take the time to explain things and make it easy to understand, like you do for us. I know a little bit about it , just enough to get me in trouble and tear stuff up. I haven't made a pass in over a decade in a bracket car but really want to get back into it. My last bracket car was a 79 backhalf Malibu
4 link car, with a fairly mild cast iron Motown 220 cylinder headed 377 SBC it ran 6.80's. With how much technology has come I'd like to run at that with a pump gas sbc, on motor alone.
Thank you from a fellow Buckeye. I'm around 2 hours away from Trails, and about 45 minutes to an hour from KD.
((( If you get time what solid roller camshaft specs would you recommend for a bracket SBC 406 or maybe a 427 SBC, 10:5.1 compression, BRAND NEW STILL IN THE BOX, AFR 210 64cc combustion chambers, COMPETITION PORTED heads, They flow 322 CFM, Super Victor intake, or open to educated intake manifold suggestions,1050 Dominator carburetor, or maybe a nice 4150 carb, 4.10 gear, 3000lb. car???)))
I don't care about driveability really, but wanna keep it pump gas, basically what I'm wanting is 99% drag race, 1% street ability. Just want to be able to drive it to town if I want to. I've filled out a cam recommendation card numerous times but never get a response from any of the camshaft manufacturers.
Have you ever used a 14 bolt rearend? If so how are they in a street/strip car? Thanks so much for sharing. Take care, be safe, and have fun regardless.
Kenny's a smart man! Pizza,Mt.Dew, and potato chips is one of my favorite snacks for lunch
Man that Malibu sounds AWESOME! Always Love watching
Can't wait to see what the Malibu runs with the new intake! Absolutely loving the channel Bill I look forward every day to your videos they are awesome.
Great video.
Great content.
Harley looking like a damn pro out there. Malibu sounds great.
I had to watch this again it popped up I'm having a hood clearance issue on my 88 monte carlo I put the big block in it and the carburetor sits way higher I was hoping to use a 2 inch cowl hood I don't care for the taller ones so I'll probably go with a sunoco bubble hood. Great video bill
Awsome video. Man I learn so much from you and billy, thanks for tec tips.
I'm for the first time getting a 74 Camaro bbc 454 ready for the trac. Would like to try bracket racing.
Good lord Harely is a doll. And she pours a mean puddle.
Doug Berry I agree with you love to see that on the road
Great video, very informative 👍💯
Big Bill brother you are going to surpass 100,000 viewers hard to believe happy for you and your family the good lord has blessed you love the videos look forward to them
Sending prayers and love to Kenny and Miss Harley from Vermont
Hey bill! Your almost at 100k that is freaking amazing! Keep up the fantastic work! God bless & we LOVE YOU & THE FANILY! 🫶🏻
Thank you Bill have a great day
You make everybody’s life better
Great to see Harley in front of the camera. She looked like a pro lining you up!
Hey Bill, Jim Driscoll left you a great message on the last video and I tacked on.........good to see you back into things with the Mally and other great content as it comes along.
Been 5 years watching now and at 64, I am about to consider bracketing an aluminum 6 cylinder car I got.......if I can geter down to 1800 pounds 🤣,
Never thought I would convert from sanctioned road racing to bracket drags🤔, hmmmmmmm
🤓
Great job Ms Harley
I can't wait until I see Kennys Camaro doing a pull n Harley making puddles n line Kenny up n turn him loose. Mr. Bill thank u for making this video Bec I learned something from watching u guys Street Race n working on cars. I love seeing people Smile but specially u Mr Bill, that ur continuing what u started 20 something years ago. Im seeing a hole different Person in u, since u change the name of ur shop n bought the Malibu. They way u still teaching Allison,Kenny, Harley n ur kids. Mrs Vicky s way happier w her C10. Kids r doing great. I look forward every day to see one of ur videos. Thank u very much From Paterson NJ. Peace out.🙏💯🌎🙌🙌. Respect 🙏
something I found on my Trans am years ago. wow I'm getting older...that's been 20 years ago now...lol but anyways I also had a cowl hood and bored with some buddies and a race weekend coming and looking for a little more quick power, we made a carb box to fit the carb and up into the hoods air cleaner hole. it didn't rotate earth but it did make a noticeable difference getting cooler air from the window instead if warmer air from the engine bay. might be something you would like to try. and I'd love to see it since your doing piece by piece trails. something you could test at the track one run with out than with and see if it helps shave any time off.
ps that was a 89 Trans am with a 350 built. raced it for years. motor setup worked so well back than I had a spare motor built. infact 1 weekend I blew the motor still winning my race only to trailer it hone real fast swap the motor and get back just in time to race my last race if the night. back than we grudge raced on the streets and parking lots and id stack races up...but that meant cash was already on the table lol..
The friend has a beautiful car! Great video!
Hey Bill, one thing I'm curious about since you've been covering each step of the Malibu build/upgrade. Approximately what have you spent up to this point to get it where it is? I think it would be helpful for anyone wanting to get into racing and starting from scratch to have an approximate idea of what it could cost them.
~~ Thanks, Dave
If you've followed along, you can simply look up the parts on Jegs/Summit/eBay and know what everything costs. Heck, he even gives you part numbers many times! Pretty simple.
Bill is giving us the recipe for the cake by describing how these parts work and what all they do. He's providing us this valuable information so we can make our own cake using parts you can locate any place. So the budget is sort of up to you as you can get so much of these parts used. He could be in this car $20k and you could build the same setup using his information and your labor for $5k digging up used parts and locating a deal on a gm car you can build.
main thing is labor is astronomical if you farm it out,if you do it yourself theres a big savings but you need to be prepared to learn how to do it right .this man has years of experience.i did a head swap, cam swap, headers, intake and carb swap on my sbc trans am ,bought everything used and learned from youtube videos and books...jegs and summit list all prices
@@trillrifaxegrindor4411 I learned the same way. Plus asking questions to people that know.
@@kevtom1686 cherry pie is my favorite kinda cake🤠
You did a great job Harley keep it up girl kenny will be in there
Another great episode Bill 👍👍👍
This was like Auto shop in High School ,interesting stuff. and Harley and Kenny will be at the track soon :)
gotta get some center caps on them front wheels! car looks spot on with the new hood
Awesome video as usual Bill.
I'd say you are right about rpm range. It could be a good tune changer, with a bigger carb.
Always great content and you're a pro at narrating your videos. Keep up the great work on upgrading "scatagascar" lmao
Not arguing what is right and wrong, just relaying information I received years ago from Edelbrock. They told me not to 'T' in the PCV and brake booster to the same 3/8 port on the back of the intake. They claimed the 'controlled vacuum leak' created by the PCV can starve the brake booster of vacuum. I thought about it for a bit and didn't quite understand as one would think all vacuum ports go into the same plenum and it has a consistent amount of vacuum no matter what is connected to it. In any case, for years I have followed their advise. I would often drill an additional hole in side of the intake, below the carb and tap it for a 3/8 barbed fitting. Run PCV to one of the two ports and power brakes to the other. Appreciate the content. God Bless.
Good job guys (especially Harley), I really can’t believe u didn’t just go ahead and drill and tap tap that intake for a fogger kit, u know that when u get the plate kit working on the progressive and the wide open switch for the leave that button on your shifter needs a job! Lol
funny BP gas pumps have always had green handles and as far as i know they have also used black for diesel..... And it might be a year or so but i have started getting my 74 nova ready just picked up 454 and TH400 got a parts list to get it ready to go in the car.. The SRC Family have been such a motivation for me and my son's to get out there and get this thing going hope to see you guys on the streets of FL or south GA next time you guys make it out
Oh yeah, I can't wait to see this will take a hit on the street now after that new intake
Big Bad Bill 👨🏽🔧👍🏽… awesomeeeee
