    ♥ Frequently Asked Questions ♥
    Q: Do you plan before, during, or after the week?
    A: It varies from video to video, but typically I plan 2-3 times during the week and stitch the clips together. I rarely plan the entire week in advance or the entire week retroactively.
    Q: Do you use all of these planners?
    A: Yes and no. Every week, there is something in my life that takes priority over the others whether it be school, work, or something personal. Depending on the week, I select a few planners that will help me achieve my tasks! So not every planner is used every week.
    Q: How do you get so much done in a day?
    A: If you watch any of my journaling vlogs, you’ll realize that I have very poor sleeping habits and so naturally I’m able to fit more things into the day. It’s something I’m trying to fix but admittedly this is the only reason.

    Helen, you "SHOW UP" for yourself every day you work. Some times we don't give ourselves enough credit. You set your mind to do something and YOU get it done every time for us. So take that time to paint, something that makes YOU happy! Thanks for sharing!!

    Hi Helen, I’m sorry to hear you weren’t well last week, I hope you are feeling better! As I was hearing you talk about doing an activity outside of work it occurred to me that you might enjoy doing something completely new to you? Maybe? 😅 There’s a couple in Vancouver who teach west coast swing classes and they are lovely and so are the people who participate. It’s just a fun bunch of people and they’re all very welcoming. Their beginners class starts at level 0 for people who never danced before and it’s so much fun! I really miss the classes (I can’t take them at the moment). If you’re interested or curious, they’re called Michael and Amy. Have a lovely week!

    I’m sorry that you were not feeling well but hope you start to feel more like yourself soon. Bridgerton Season 1 and Bridgerton Season 2 are quite different. I didn’t like the first season at all but gave Season 2 a chance because of actress Simone Ashley who is lovely. That being said, the series is not for everyone so it’s absolutely understandable if you don’t try again given how busy you are with the shop. The painting opportunity sounds so exciting!

    Hi Helen! First of all, thank you so much (SO MUCH) for all the time and energy you invest in this channel!!! I love your videos -- you are an inspiration!!! I do have a question for you (and I'm sorry if you've answered this before, but I can't find it - nor do I remember your answer - in past videos): it's the Hobonichi paper ... before I buy a Cousin, I am researching it. I've read that it is akin to "Bible paper" or "onion skin" and that there is bleed thru or ghosting that can be very distracting. I've watched the pen tests. But I have yet to see you have a problem with this, and you're using fountain pens! I use gel pens and rollerballs. What's the skinny? Would you recommend the Cousin to me? Thanks much!!!! Happy 2024!!!!!

    • @TheCoffeeMonsterzCo
      @TheCoffeeMonsterzCo  Před 8 měsíci

      Hi hi!! Awww it's my pleasure! The hobonichi paper is indeed thin, but it is meant to be able to handle ink! So fountain pens work beautifully. There is no bleeding (meaning ink seeps through to the other side), however there is faint ghosting (meaning you will be able to see faint lines from the previous page). This bothers some people, but to me it is not a problem!

    Helen, I have a really dumb question, when you are planning in your weekly section, do you plan with the time ladder or do you just list things you need to do/have done? As always, thanks for sharing and I am going to have to try that with the washi :)

    You have inspired me to get into Hobonichi and also try fountain pens. Is the ink you are currently using on this video dries quickly or you have to wait a bit to avoid smudges?
    Hope you're feeling a lot better now!

    • @bruin_tea_et_ecriture
      @bruin_tea_et_ecriture Před 8 měsíci

      Hello! Just a quick note on fountain pens. It's very helpful to get a blotter sheet (j herbin makes them in packs). I have them in all my notebooks. It depends on the ink, the nib size, and the paper. For example, Hobonichi is made from what's known as Tomoe River paper. It is known to take longer to dry and this is specifically because it's made to display fountain ink properties. The slower the ink dries the more you are likely to see all the fantastic properties that the inks bring to the table. Let me tell you it is nothing short of amazing when you get to see it on Tomoe River paper. So you have shading inks, sheening inks, shimmer inks, etc. I honestly don't feel like it takes that long to dry and I use fine to broad nibs in my hobo cousin and a various sundry of inks. I also use a blotter when I need to close my notebook in a hurry. This prevents ink smudging/or going on to the other pages. You will absolutely LOVE fountain pens. The two together - fountain pens and tomoe river paper are such an amazing experience. Note you can see ink dry times on a lot of fountain pen retailers websites. Goulet for example has a tech spec page for all their products, and there's also mountain of ink Kellie's blog that shows inks, various papers, dry times, various nibs etc. You're going to have so much fun!!

      @@bruin_tea_et_ecriture Thank you very much for your input! 😊I'm still in the research process for picking the fountain pen that's suitable for beginners (or at least can make my life easier if that's even possible 😅) then wanted to research more about inks. I'll def take look at drying times or research more about it before I make my final decision 😊
