- The Great Wall is an extract taken from the film ‘A Dream of Edwin Drummond’ by Paul Diffley. The commentary in the film comes from Ed’s wonderful essay, ‘Great Wall’, which was published in Ken Wilson's ‘Hard Rock’ and is considered to be one of the finest climbing essays ever written. The essay describes Ed’s internal monologue as he struggles to make an early repeat one of the hardest routes of the day, Great Wall, on the mighty Welsh cliff of Clogwyn Du'r Arddu.

What happened to 'I'm not usually lucky'? Also, doesn't the climber only do pitch one, whereas the text describes pitches one and two in the original one long pitch. Still a terrific watch though.
True. Pitch 2 was wet, we shot it in Sept.
