Danya: That's just game over
Nah, Danya respectfully says, "strong move by our opponent... this guy is good!"
@@muntoonxt Yeah but how good can they be really if they always get beat.
@@brucewayne2184 he's a GM and they're 1200,they can make some good moves but it's like if a kid tried to fight mike Tyson ,they might have good form while punching but they have no chance
@@trallegas6589 which means they're worse, yeah? The only way to tell is by comparison. Otherwise everyone would be good...?
@@brucewayne2184 since chess always has an objective best move i'd just say that a player is as good as their accuracy,1200s have that rating bc they dont usually play at 95 but that doesnt mean that they cant play amazing games, its just that the mayority of times they dont so i dont neccesarily think that the only way to determine if someone is good is by comparing them to someone who beat them,i'd say its by how well they actually played,i have no idea if that made sense
Another masterpiece Danya. I love that he will shout out other channels like IM Rosen. Danya's lack of Ego is so wonderful to see from such a brilliant mind. I am a true fan for life.
Thank you, much appreciated!
Danya really the goat of chess teaching
I just imagine your opponent sitting there thinking "we got 'em" being up two pawns not knowing that they're about to be put in the blender by a GM doing an instructional vid.
I’ve missed you Danya
🤨
All of us have.
that's a bit creepy ngl
@@michael8815 I think it depends on the voice you read in haha
I was about to send out a search party, but my withdrawal systems prevented me from organizing one. Thankfully now, all is right with CZcams.
I need to watch Daniel's videos many times to get all the insights and tactics he teaches us on his videos. It's amazing to have access to these masterclasses
Opponent: wow I already got him thinking on move 4, that's good
Daniel: ok now let's not reinvent the wheel
Im excited about the 40 minute upload! Thanks for helping me improve at chess.
This is the best channel on CZcams at the moment. I've installed twitch just to be able to sub and support Danya.

As always, the best chess content on youtube by far
Another brilliant episode, thank you so so much for continuing to make these speedruns. They are a great help and you are an excellent teacher. Keep up the great work!
You’re a dang gansta explaining things, from out of every youtube chess channel, is from you that I have been able to learn the most, thank you sensei ❤️👏
Happy new year to Danya and all the folk at Twitch/YT, may our tactics get stronger and our ratings go up! Loving this fundamentals speedrun, it's seriously helping a
Thanks Danya. This series is one of the best
Great video, super instructive in many lines I play. I love that at 26:51 you mention the Italian then use a hand gesture right after.
Hey Danya, I just want to say thank you. In the 2021 I went from 800 to 1700, and a lot of it was from watching your videos and learning from you. Keep up the good work!
Excellent! Really shows the power of square domination and exposing the King, plus the potential of the Italian!
Great examples and I appreciate the longer time controls. It gives a much better chance to try and spot all the potential ideas you talk about.
Thanks man, I hear your voice when I’m playing my games. You definitely help me play more sound, solidly. Na strowie!
Love the 40 min uploads, thanks danya!
Soooo instructive! Thanks
Big like for you Daniel, love the series!
your teaching skills are as top-notch as your gameplay is! thank you sir.
Love these videos. Also, I really hope the other content you mentioned in the past is coming - the openings courses, more middlegame strategy stuff. :)
Welcome back king. I truly love your content. It helped me a lot. The way you simplify things is amazing. The narration and analysis as well. I wish one day we can play together a match.
cheers for the great content
I watch GM Naroditskys content everyday after work ... always making perfect sense... always relaxing yet stimulating. Love from England.
So excited when I see a new speedrun video on my timeline
I like when Daniel praise the chat for suggesting good moves

Awesome chess lesson thanks GM Danya, I guessed a lot of your moves... thanks

For me Danya is the best sensei on the internet. This presentation had 2 games explained and 9 different positions. A delight for anyone who likes to learn.

Bxd4! What an awesome and creative move in that final position!
Happy new year Danya
Thanks Danya

Ееее, новый выпуск Сэнсэй Дэньи!
Just had a game with the London in this same line just 30 minutes after watching this (actually side-lined you looked at, Ne4) - never would have seen I could trap the bishop there with f4 - f5. Easy win - thanks! I had always played e6 rather than Nc6 after dxc5 - (b4 loses to Qf6 hitting both the rook & bishop) but this seems sharper and more fun.
Daniel slaughtering peeps at chess in the arena is my jam
That first game.. 😮💨🤯
All of this amazing explanation and informations for free
I can't thank you enough sensei
THANK you
The GOAT Danya
My brain: Qf6 and the game is over.
Danya: Now, alot of you might be thinking Qf6....
My brain: Doh.
I had almost the exact starting position as the first game a few months ago and analysed it.
E6 after dxc5 is actually the best move. If white plays b4 trying to keep the pawn then you can play 4... Qf6!
The bishop on f4 is hanging and b4 opens the diagonal to the rook. So Qf6 forks the bishop and the rook.
Best for white is: 5. Bxb8 Qxa1 6. Bf4 Qxa2
Black is up an exchange.
I remember watching this video as a dumb 900 and being fascinated and confused by the pawn sac and weird plays. Now all of the moves were natural to me and the combinations were so satisfying. I only now understand just how high quality the examples at the end were as well.
Incredible timing lol I just commented on the last one about 30 minutes ago wondering when the next episode was getting uploaded
thanks
That's my go to line against the London. Whenever I see Nf3 before Nb2, which is most of the time at my rating point, I become very happy
At 24:04 in the exercise I had the idea to go Bf4 to meet Qd4 with Be5. I checked it with Stockfish and it's slightly preferred over Bg5!
Phew got another one to watch
Wow, just wow.
Love your work Danya! Fyi, the audio has been really quiet. You may want to increase the volume. :)
Looking at the puzzle 23:49: playing Bf4, with the threat of Be5 to follow also works and the engine prefers it. Happy new year
Oh god that first game! imagine having a good day, going for a last win before bed then you’re black vs danya!
I like following along with you on an openings engine that way I can learn the names. And comprehend the systems and what you are doing more. Apparently this is the steinitz counter gambit and accelerated London
names aren't so important
@@fritzzz1372 sure it’s important, it helps your brain make a category for it
@@fritzzz1372 they would not name them if they weren’t significant. Do you think when Daniel was learning, his teachers didn’t tell him the names because they are less important haha ofc not they are Russian
@@shelly.618 I didn't say names were unimportant, I said that they don't matter as much as your original comment implied. At least it sounded like the name was just as important as understanding the opening.
@@shelly.618 Yeah its easier to remember if it has a name
I have never seen once with me playing c5 as move two that white responds with taking the pawn
what
@@Kokurorokuko they mean that nobody takes on c5 with London
it is a viable option, though i prefer to just play e3, there are a lot of queen traps for white if they play Qb6
My understanding is It's not really in the spirit of the London to capture the pawn on C5 with your pawn on D4.
danya comin thru with a banger. missed these uploads the past few days. dont leave me like that danny boy, especially when im sick.
good morning to all the EU lads as well, hope yall have a good day

Damn this must hurt
30:48 it's not about getting the dark squares it's about playing like him 🤣
Hey Danya! Love the content, but the volume is super quiet here and can be very inconsistent between your videos; plus those of us who don’t use Adblock get our ears blown out when an ad comes on. I would highly recommend using a limiter to bring the volume up without distorting the audio.
Yeah was gonna say this, video is awesome as always but volume is a tad quiet
Man turn up the volume, there's no sound distortion, I'd say its more what YOU are using to watch it and use ad blocker or pay for it there's loads of options but stop giving out over nonsense
@@conorharan582 no need to be offended, the volume indeed is quite low
Danya is spoiling us with a double header
😂
24:05 bishop to f5 then e5 is even more accurate though. It's not recommended by Stockfish for some reason, but the eval is higher once played. The idea is to protect against the black queen getting to d6 and d4. Black basically has to give up the queen to prevent checkmate.
Bf4 was my first thought and once Danya said "Bg5 is the move" I thought there must be something wrong with Bf4 so I didn't check. Glad I saw this comment haha.
But Rh3 Qh7# is just faster. If oponent can sack the queen zo prevent mate your not winning on the spot
At 1:13 I have a doubt. Danya suggested not to play e6 because then white can respond with b4 protecting c5.. But then black actually has a very sound move Qf6. Hitting the bishop at f4 and also attacking the rook at a1.. In analysis too stockfish evaluation drops to 2.6 in the favour of black after b4.. It's essentially a blunder according to stockfish.. So i always like playing e6 in that position to open up by Bishop.. I follow the same vienna tactic here.
Please do an everything you need to know about engine analysis video.
Please do something with the Catalan and/or the Reti.
You are one of the very very few chess tubers consistently worth the time .. Thanks.
1:33 Would Qa5+ work? If a piece is interposed we take the pawn back, if b4 we just take d4 with another check.
The volume on some of these speedrun videos is abnormally low, even at max volume on my laptop it can sometimes be difficult to hear
The microphone volume is just nonexistent. Is there anyway you can turn your stream up?
at 11:41 Na4 is not a move that keeps white in the game 'cause the Knight can be trapped again with b5.. even taking en passant won't solve the issue, the a file opens and Q and R create a battery hitting the Knight left with no squares
41:54 "I was quite upset to miss this" - me after blundering 12 moves in a row
2:53 Grandmaster farts after giving a check with his queen and proceeds to open the window.
Why on the first knight capture couldn't he have just returned the knight to block the check?
How did you ignore forced en passant at 22.40?
At 23:50 is there anything wrong with Bf4?
Another example of a game (the first one) where the opening doesn’t really matter at this level. People should just work on basic tactics and defending a position properly. At this level it doesn’t really help to memorize opening lines, maybe you will survive for a couple more moves. I love this series, but I sometimes wonder about the educational value of seeing a GM crushing a noob.
if the GM explains simply how he crushed the noob, it's very educational.
He kind of just gets himself into winning positions every game with some tactic I'll never spot and then wins. I think the chessbrah videos are better for people at this rating because he plays bad moves sometimes but he follows basic plans and the ideas are clear. If I tried to play like this in my games I'd always lose on time lol.
You are pretty much correct. Around 1200 you don't need to do anything other than tactics.
There is value in seeing a GM crush a noob. But tactics probably overshadow everything else at this range. Tactics > Basic Endgames > Healthy Positional Play > More complex Endgames > Opening.
Seeing danya play an entire game definitely helps, but if I was a 1200 once again, I would just do tactics.
1:26 e6 is the best move here because b4 can be met by Qf6
At 1:10 after e6 and b4, black has Qf4 forking the bishop and rook. e6 b4 is reminiscent of the old line rook blunder of QGA.
So that e6 does win the pawn.
Why you are highly creative and finds all best moves... I have been struggling since many years to think like that. What u eat btw 😋
noti squad
Lol how to crush the London xD
Does anyone know which book he took out?
Found it.
Why does he keep bringing Rosen Levi, is this a Collab playlist with them?
has daniel ever done a video on the blackmar-diemer gambit?
I’m pretty sure he played against it
He should do it
26:24 idk if this is right but
Kh8 is mate in 2, Qh5+, Kg8, Qh7#
Kg8 leads to Qh5, Re8, Qxf7+, Kh8, Qh5+, Kg8, Qh7+, Kf8, Qh8+, Ke7, Qxg7# so best move is to sac the queen instead of Re8
Kh6 is simply losing a queen after a knight discovery check
Kg6 idk, i remember the move being either Qg5 or h4 but i’m too tired to think about it
Kg6 is also mate after Qd3+, if Kh5 Qh7+ Kg5 Qh3#, if Kh6 Qh7#, if f5 exf5+ enpassant then you have the earlier two checkmates with the pawn exchange
Edit: Not quite mate since after exf5+ black has Kxf6 so you might just move to Qg3 to setup a discovery or move Qg4 instead of Qd3+ at the very start like other greek gifts.
@@gnikdroy Cmon now f5 you take on e6
@@violetasuklevska9074 Either you didn't read the edit (latter part of my comment), or you wrote the comment before my edit was visible to you. Either way, Qd3+ is still the best move just that the f5 line is not checkmate, you can reread my last comment.
First comment, perfectly timed video as always Daniel. Please keep making the speed run content, and for the next one it would be great if you stick to one opening as white i.e. 1. e4 or d4 and one as black vs both options. Thanks again for putting the time into these videos.
The person in chat who said 10.Ba3 is the best move in the Italian/Greco Attack line is actually correct here and Daniel was wrong (a rare occasion where his theory isn't 100%!). In the classic line shown in the video Black should respond with 10...d5 instead of capturing the poisoned rook on a1 (earning a crucial tempo with which to castle). Of course White is still better but it's only +1.13 at depth 32 according to SF. The line I have even continues with Black almost equalising a few moves later (+0.3 ish) with (what I believe to be) best play.
However after 10.Ba3 (the "Aitken Variation" apparently) Black still must find the same only move (d5) to stay in the game but the engine says +3.07 (and climbing) at depth 32. In the line I have Black actually captures the rook a few moves later but is still completely losing. Just a small addendum for anyone watching. I'd prefer not to parrot engine evaluations but it's easiest for the sake of a youtube comment typing on mobile. I encourage you to check it out with an engine and opening book if you're interested as the original is one of the old school classic lines.
However you're not going to see it in high level play (probably why Daniel didn't remember Ba3 was best and chose not to mention there's a better response to the pawn sac trap) because 8...Nxc3 is actually a mistake in the first place (or, specifically, it's the second capture, 9...Bxc3, that is the error but nobody plays one without the other). If, instead of 8...Nxc3, Black captures with the bishop first they can gain complete equality - and perhaps even an advantage - by going down a line that occurs in over 300 top level games (2200 elo and above) in the database I'm using:
8...Bxc3 9.d5 Bf6 10.Re1 Ne7 11.Rxe4 d6 12.Bg5 Bxg5 13.Nxg5
...and Black either castles with complete equality or plays 13...h6 to try for an advantage (after Nxg5 White only wins 22% of the time with Black winning 51% out of 251 games!).
Just to add this is meant to be an addition, not a criticism. I thought this was one of the best speedrun episodes so far (I'm watching in order); packed with good advice, interesting examples and nice theory tips as always.
In the first game, after 6 Na4 White is not still in the game due to the response .... b5 7 cb ab 8 b3 b5 9 Nb2 and Black has several winning ideas like ... bc or... Qxc3+ 10 Qd2 Bb4. I was very suspicious when Danya listened to the chat and said that 6 Na4 was more or less holding for White and paused the video and quickly concluded that Black was winning. I then checked with an engine that confirmed my suspicions and showed several other winning ideas that I missed when I paused the video.
DANYA BACK ON HIS SIGMA GRINDSET!!!
if Danya went pawn e6 and the opponent replied with pawn b4 thats a blunder since you can go queen f6 and fork the bishop/rook
?

forced brick at 22:41
He called me out completely on not seeing the problem of giving up a bishop pair because there is no immediate way for the opponent to exploit the square complex. I week or so ago I watched Stjepan from hanging pawns video where he analizes a game in which he gave up his light square bishop in the London and he kept saying that doing so was a problem because of the light squares. I saw no immediate way for his opponent to exploit the light squares so I was like who cares. Later in the game it became obvious to me that light squares are a big problem, but for so many moves I was like so what, I don't see what is his opponent going to do about it.
