More than that was done to the Kirk mask. The blonde straightened hair was removed and replaced with frizzy hair that git spray painted dark brown. The face was sprayed white, painted with tints of grey and for wear detailing. The eyebrows were completely ripped off and lastly the eyeholes were expanded, that was how just 5 moves created the most known and iconic horror face and mask in history of the halloween season. But it's not just about the mask. Imagine Myers' attire wasn't the most everyday use of gear for almost all tasks it wouldn't have looked right. I don't think workman overalls would've went well instead of coveralls in editions to what you're eyes first see and grew up seeing is what you'll stick by if someone ever tried changing Myers' outfit.
@@ImTheLionskinner Well, there was 3 different mask for the OG film. 2 of the masks did have the hair replaced but the one Nick wore had its hair spray painted black with a little bit of dark brown

The original hair was used (with the sideburns and eyebrows ripped off), and Tommy Lee Wallace used a black hairspray product called Streaks N Tips to color it. Also, all the exposed portions of the mask were painted Fish Belly White. No 'grey details' were painted in. The black hairspray came off on the hands of the people wearing the mask, and was inadvertently redeposited on the face portion. This, in addition to paint loss at wear points, created the weathered appearance we are used to.
I actually have a odd connection to Halloween. I was born in Russellville, Kentucky, and if you pay attention to the grave digger Loomis visited, the guy mentions a story that takes place in Russellville (obviously not where I was born, because Halloween takes place in Illinois, this Russellville being a town over). And it was added, because Carpenter grew up in Bowling Green, Kentucky, which is kind of a town over from Russellville, about 20-30 minutes away (he talked about going to a theater there growing up). I live and grew up near both, in Elkton (20 minutes west of Russellville), so it’s fun seeing someone who also grew up near me referencing places I know. Actually there is a local haunt called the Sexton House that is in the middle of town at a cemetery and ironically about 20-30 minutes from Bell Witch Cave in Adams, Tennessee. And I also read a interview from a journalist who lives in Russellville asked Carpenter (because Micheal was based off a mental hospital patient he met visiting, if the hospital was Western State Hospital (which is in Hopkinsville, Kentucky (which is also where the Kelly-Hopkinsville encounter happened), about 30-40 minutes away from Russellville, going west and past Elkton, which John say he wouldn’t tell which hospital it was; I highly wouldn’t doubt it, since it has a reputation around here. Just fun to see a film reference where I live.

@@lazydazey9282 Well Tommy Lee Wallace created the white mask of the Don Post Captain Kirk mask. And he never mentioned anything about turning it inside out. Just shaving sideburns, opening eye holes, painting the mask white, then painting the hair dark. He even did one here pretty recent the exact same way he did the ‘78 mask here on CZcams.
