- In this video i'm restoring an antique iron.
The iron is named after the specific form of the insert. It was used in the late 18th century.
I bought this one at a flea market in Germany. The condition of this item was not too bad in terms of rust. Unfortunately, the insertion of the bull tongue was missing.
The wood handle was badly damaged. It was a decision to completely make a new one. One of the two bolts of the handle was very worn, it was necessary to solder and make a new thread. That's why I decided to make it all new. After that, I managed to bring the outer contour into shape. I decided to make some parts black. After the first sandblasting, I removed all the scratches and pits by sandblasting. I decided to polish with my body
In general, I really like the look of this iron, as the colors of wood, black steel and polished steel play with each other.

Зря перчатками не пользуешься при работе с метал. щеткой! Щетка одним касанием превращает пальцы в фарш.
Большое спасибо за столь не профессиональный совет, извините что так грубо, но есть выражение что техника безопасности писалась на крови.
Вот небольшая выдержка:
《Во время работы на заточном, токарном, сверлильном, шлифовальном и прочих станках с вращающимися елементами запрещается:
- работать на станке в рукавицах или перчатках, а также с забинтованными пальцами без резиновых напальчников.》
Извиняюсь что так грубо ответил.
Моё мнение-не следовало его реставрировать! В первозданном виде он намного красивее и круче!
Ручка, смотрится ужасно в остальном норм..
Ну как вам сказать. К сожелению вы правы. Это так. Но один нюанс в том что оригинальной рукоятки не было, а в семирной паутине к сожелению не оказалось, даже фотографии похожей модели. Вот из всего что было найдено пришлось выбирать среднее.
@@AnDIY_Handmade_Restoration это ли не повод переделать ручку и отснять новое видео (работа над ошибками). В гугле, поиск по картинкам по фразе "old iron" выдает только прямые ручки, иногда они профилированные, чаще прямые.
Это отличный повод, но как найду такой же утюг, то обязательно переделаю, хочу чтобы максимально близко была к оригиналу.
