Freddie's voice in this song slap you in the face. It soooo crisp .
It cuts into your heart.
God bless you freddie!!!!
John Deacon is such an incredible songwriter
I have never heard this version before. What a treat!
Song that’s the soundtrack for so many of ourselves, our lives😊 wonderful musicians
It was a sort of ‘semi live’ feeling. Groups basically had bare bones equipment, giving it that raw, edgy sound.
There’s that Rory smile again😁
INCREDIBLE!! I LOVE WHEN YOU SMILE RORY!! AWESOME TRACK, HE DOES SOUND LIKE ELECTRIC GUITAR!! AWESOME REACTION RORY AND THANK YOU NICK FOR THIS AWESOME REQUEST!! RIP FREDDIE 😇❤️🩹🌹BEAUTIFUL VOCALS AND AWESOME GUITAR 🎸🥁🔥.
My first concert as a kid! Queen was incredible! I wish Deacon was still active. He was amazing!
Fantastic, unique and unrepeatable. This is Freddie he never surprised us. Always Queen specially Freddie. Amazing, thanks for reacting to this gem. Queen is delightful to listen👍👌🎸🎵🎶
My favorite Deaky composition!! In my top 10 Queen song list!
The BBC Sessions are amazing!! Thank you Rory! 🦋
Never heard this version before---so great and thanks to whoever suggested it! I never saw Queen live so am going to see the new IMAX version of the 1981 Rock Montreal concert in January--it will only be available for one weekend in IMAX theaters around the country. Seeing them on a super sized screen with an exceptional sound system is going to be so much more immersive than just seeing it on my computer.
Definitely one of my fave tracks. Not a lot of live performances recorded.
Detroit ‘77 is a fantastic news of the world tour. Audio only.
Also of note, it’s late, my melancholy blues, liar & a really great BoRap. The whole show is my go to in the car.
Awesome, incredible, surprising version! Thanks for this reaction. You can’t go wrong with Queen. Whenever you’re tempted to let go, you find jewells like this one!
Thank you Nick!
Not a problem
Queen is always better live.
The only thing that could be better than listening to this version would be to see it! Loving the piano❤
I own all the Queen "On Air" BBC Sessions and they leave me without words. This is a phenomenal version to one of my favorite Queen songs. The piano is mad! Thanks for this fantastic reaction (as always) ❤
Thanks, Rory.. and a John Deacon song (well, of course JD wasn't going to do vocals.. but check out that bass!).. and Brian really "flew away" lol
I LOVE HOW QUEEN ALWAYS BRINGS THAT BIG SMILE ON YOUR FACE 😊❤ MERRY CHRISTMAS RORY 🎉❤
I love this version, in BBC versions they had more time than time on a single, i believe. They always seemed more free and more time to just jam. Love the ending where they just let loose and then back to the normal version. Thanks Rory and thank you Nicholas!
Love both version.
This version and studio version 💕
The comment about him singing in a higher range is cause he's singing in a much brighter and clean tone than the record, which makes it sound higher than it actually is. I definitely prefer this version, his clearer voice is really nice
Great reaction. Haven't heard this version before. Love when they
were just jamming away at the end. John wrote some of my favorite songs.
Awesome! I've never heard this version before. Great reaction, Rory, thanks!
WOW! That's what this is, simply WOW! Is that Freddie on the piano? Gotta go put my CD on. Really nice input to this day of mine, Queen's musicianship and your visual and vocal reaction. Great experience. Thanks.
Thanks for this reaction. I've never heard this version before, it feels longer and more... energetic and... rocky... than the original. I don't remember the piano being in the climax at the end. I shall have to investigate.
Gee Rory I have never heard this version before !! LOVE IT ✌🏼 Freddie does sound absolutely raw and real and clean…… none of that makes any sense does it ?? It’s like they’re jamming alone and just feeling damn good and partying !! 😂😂 Anyway Thank you
First heard this on a bootleg many years ago and was astounded on how better it was to the released single/ album version.
Love youraQ
I've never heard this version before. I'll give it top marks for clarity, but that's about it.
You call it punchy, i call it rushed. It's at an obviously faster tempo and the double-time section is atypical. My favourite version is from the boxing day concert at Hammersmith-odeon 1979. There's an extended piano intro, the atmosphere of the crowd singing is euphoric, and i still haven't heard Brian do a better solo with this song than on that special occasion.
Yes Nick, it’s better. More rock n‘ roll and piano. More improv.
Most definitely!
the speed of this version is a bit higher, so it gives it a more energy.

Stop.
