Thanks for all the work you did. My Wife has tried many stainless cleaning solutions. After seeing her remark how bad the refrigerator looked I said let me do some research. Your WD30 was a slam dunk solution to her years old problem. I can't wait to see her reaction when she comes home from work today.
I know that you made this video 2 years ago, but it is still relevant.
Over the years I've use furniture polish on all my appliances and the kitchen sink.
However, now that we have a 9 month old grandson that we watch, I was trying to think of what I used when my son was a baby - 25 years ago.
Then I remembered I used mineral oil on just about everything in the kitchen - counter tops, cabinet doors, appliances...........
And then I started second guessing my self.
Did a search on YT and came to your video.
Thank you!!!
It was reassuring that I made the right choice in using mineral oil - which is a basic ingredient in baby oil.
DW-40 worked like magic. Thanks for info 👍
Been dancing around my stainless steel kitchen appliances for a while, trying to clean them! What a pain! Now I know...Thanks
Thank you so much for this side by side comparison with everyday use to show which lasts longer and gives better results.
hey thanks for the thoroughness of this experiment and sharing it! You confirmed my thoughts on windex and added the baby oil to my method! Really appreciate it!
Thank you for this scientifically impeccable video. First you describe the problem, then set up a fair test for all the products. And then you go further, and test how each of your products will perform over time. Other UTubers could learn from your presentation. Also, I think you've just saved my kitchen sink from further abuse.
Thanks! I now use the baby oil technique.
Thanks for the excellent demonstration. I'm gonna go with baby oil & windex!
Stainless steel comes in a variety of ratios. If a magnet sticks to it it will rust if not protected .Therefore it has a clear coating from the factory. Polishes are like fine sandpaper and will remove that finish. Harsh cleaner and scouring pads will remove that finish. I’ve seen stainless steel fridge doors get rusty. Mild detergent and a cloth. Mineral oil will help protect the finish as well as waxes. I use these to protect my tools in my shop. Read your manuals that come with the appliance. Cheers
Agreed. This is a very wise comment. Thank you
I have found the product 'Awesome' (first marketed in Dollar Stores) to be a good choice if diluted - (1 tablespoon in a 1 gal of water). Very economical and leaves a lovely shine on most everything. If used on the BBQ directly spayed on for heavy grease, it removes it quickly and leaves a shine. I am not certain if Awesome can harm the surface. I have been using it for a year or so and so far it appears to be safe.
Citrol beats them all thanks for the video
Big thanks!
Thanks
so touching for an excellent video
Thanks for the video. You can just use baby oil without the windex. Cleans and polishes in one fell swoop. Use a paper towel and go with the grain. The dirt will come off while leaving a shine.
Hey so I started working at a hotel and someone put something on the elevator door (stainless steel), that really made it look like crap apparently they had tried to fix it but nothing worked they said , after watching this I brought my bottle of baby oil to work and put it on , yo the door is restored and looks new and smells good also I went crazy and hit up all the stainless steel I could find that needed help it works so good thanks .
Your comment made my day!
Great video🙏🏼
Great demo / info. I hv a ton of stainless appliances but also antique stainless steel bread boxes I need to clean the right way today. Thx so much for doing this. It's the little things, isn't it? 👍Going to try WD-40 on the boxes working outside and the Windex + baby oil inside. I wouldn't hv thought about the WD-40 fumes, which would've overwhemed Handsome Harry🐈- just me in Palm Springs 🌴
Thank you so much!!!!!
I use Endust furniture cleaner and it does an amazing job.
Great video, saving me some time &$$$. Thankyou
I buff my weiman spray after applying. Just like you would a wax. Makes the surface look SUPER polished but after watching this video I might have to try the baby oil out.
Excellent
It's actually bad to use windex on stailess steel because it damages it with repeated use. WD-40 is the best way to go. Just use very little so it doesn't get on your hands.
You can use baby oil without windex. Works well.
Please explain to me why I've just watched this video when I could be swimming in a lake..
Water and dish soap does the trick does this perfectly.
Thanks for this video. In all fairness though, I believe all three should be cleaned with Windex first. The other two products are being applied to a dirty surface. Windex is known to leave a steak free surface. Therfore all three products aren't really applied to the same surface conditions. Imo.
Winded is not to be used on SS, Bar keepers friend is recommended on my refer manual…then ..well, still experimenting
You can just use baby oil. Cleans and polishes in one fell swoop.
White vinegar mixed with a tiny bit of Dawn dish soap. You’ll never clean with anything else.
I love WD-40..
While using microfiber it made some hairline scratches whats the best way to remove them
What about those little scratches?
I clean with warm soapy water to clean the surface then follow up with Olive oil. It works great 😁
The issue with food-based oil is it goes rancid over time. That’s why mineral oil is recommended.
@@krysiunia So you recommend mineral oil for removing built up food oil?
@@phillyjoejones5161 yeah and/or soap
@@phillyjoejones5161 and mineral oil to polish
Dust gets stuck to Olive oil
Your suppose to buff the weinman after it dries.
WD-40 hands down
What is the ratio for the baby oil and Windex?
You don’t mix them. Instead, clean the surface with windex, then coat the surface with baby oil.
what is the ratio for baby oil and windex?
He didn’t say to mix them together.
Dawn dish soap than vinegar
thats case wipe is crap! get spray 0n then spray it walk away when about dry then buff.
Baby oil

WD 40 cleaning stainless steel
I've used wd40 I found on another video it works fucking amazing I'm just here to see how the others compare
Uncle Roger approves
wd40 isnt cleaning. It's hiding. I only use glass cleaner, works great!
Hey just wondering what do you mean, how does it hide?
One tip. When we refer to a noun like dishwasher in the plural we say dishwashers. If you refer to it singularly it's incorrect. It's like the British saying, "I went to hospital". NO. In America it's "I went to the hospital". It's a cultural and linguistic difference.
