i love the fact WWE managed to keep this somewhat under their hats! with social media it hard to get the crowd that surprised,we had little whispers but this was one of the best debuts in years.

Around this time they did a run of articles like this, including a ton of indie/foreign wrestlers that never actually signed. So it wasn't even slightly a given they had signed.
I damn near burst into tears when this happened. Never in my wildest dreams did I ever think I would see AJ Styles in the WWE at that time. Ever! Moments like this remind you that wrestling can still be fun.
I still get a bit teary eyed when I watch this back. AJ Styles was my childhood and seeing him FINALLY make it into the WWE was amazing. Love the moment to this day.

I wonder if we’ll ever see a main roster debut like this again. Like not from NXT/ starting in NXT upon signing but straight up like on ppv or Raw. I can only think of Okada or Ospreay or Omega doing something like this. I’m surprised they didn’t do it with Samoa Joe honestly
