My MIL just sent me a check for Mother’s Day and since it’s my first Mother’s Day with two kids now, I bought this pen with that money in a fine nib. The two hearts on the finnial are my two little hearts and the nib represents me as they were cut out of me ❤ so special can’t wait to receive it. I’m even getting it engraved with “mama”

What a gorgeous pen! I am so surprised that it catches my eye. I, like you, am not normally drawn to something with this style. But this one is awesome! I love that you have the Desire ink with the Heart pen. So cute! 🤘🏼😸🧡🖋
Oh, I didn't even make that connection. Ink and pen but yes, that works and I love it. I had the same experience: it's not my style but I'm drawn to it. So glad I get to use it and add it to my collection.

Isn't it gorgeous? I treated myself to this pen last year, and I use it every day. I got mine in a Fine nib. Loved it so much, I bought a Platinum 3776 with a Soft Fine nib.

That was quite a fortunate giveaway! I am so happy you received this fabulous pen! I recently shared my Platinum 3776 Shape of Heart Ivoire. It’s such a lovely pen. One difference I noticed is the black has a glossy finish and the Ivoire has a matte finish. Very enjoyable. I have four other Platinum 3776 pens in various nib sizes from UEF to B. I enjoy them all.🖋

Thank you. This means a lot, as I'm usually rather hesitant when unboxing pens. So everyone saying my excitement was noticeable is amazing!
My husband saw me ooo-in and ahhh-ing over this pen in the ivory earlier this month. He told me to get it. I said, "Are you kidding? It's $450!" Mother's Day and birthday, so who was I to argue? I just opened it a couple of hours ago and am so disappointed. It's absolutely gorgeous, even more so in person, but I cannot get it to write. Searching online I see this is a fairly common problem, but I don't know enough about fountain pens to know how to even start to fix it. I got an EF nib, which I tried your trick of dipping in the ink, so I could write with it that way, and love it! But I need the ink cartridge to work. Simone, do you have any suggestions?

Do you have a converter for the pen? Do you have any inks from the Pilot Iroshizuku line or maybe Waterman Serenity Blue? I'm so sorry your experience is not at all what you had expected. I know how frustrating and disappointing that feels. If you purchased it from a retailer, contact them, let them know what you did, what the pen does or doesn't do and what they suggest you should do.
I hope you get it figured out. When it writes, it's amazing!
Sometimes it takes a really hard push to make the cartridge fit onto the feed end. Take the cartridge out and look at the end to see if it punctured. If it is try putting it back in and then holding nib over the sink gently press the cartridge in the middle to get ink into the feed.

Congratulations! I've heard that it sometimes takes a bit of shaking to find the two hearts. Simone, I ended up with an extra bottle of Papier Plume Desire that I'd be happy to send to you after you move. I'm eager to get extra bottles out of my house because I'm out of room.

Ahhh thanks a lot. This is how I find out I didn't win. I'm just kidding 😛 Congratulations on the winning the giveaway. Too bad they didn't shape a heart on top of the finial where the cap in cap is attached - that would have been a nice touch.
Do you know what is the reason behind the Shape of Heart pens?
The Waterman bottle gets difficult to open at times. I usually take a damp paper towel to wipe off the ink on the rim and threads. I can see you have a lot of sheen on the rim. That helps.

Ah, so good to have a comment from you, I missed you! I still am in awe that I won every time I take the pen out of my pen case. Such a lucky duck. And after I filmed the video, I looked at the other Platinum 3776 and found that this is just the construction of the cap. Which is really unfortunate and I think it takes away a bit of the elegance of the pen. But since I'm not elegant, I don't care.
Here is the text from the ad: "The design symbolizes the connection between partners and makes for an ideal romantic gift." Ok, well then. Someone else commented that they represent their two children and the nib represents them because they were cut out of them. Which I love as a symbol much more. Does everything has to have a symbol and meaning? LOL. I'm not romantic it seems.

I could have sworn the post showed an ivory 3776. So nice of them to let you choose! (Even though it ruined my perceived theme of your pens this month. 😂) The black/gold is very professional.
