Thanks for the quick refresher and great tip on cutting the tulle. For smaller tutus, instead of using the cardboard when you are attaching the tulle, you can also put the elastic on your leg like a garter and that way you don't have to worry about it sliding around. It worked great when I made newborn tutus for my daughter's 1st photo shoot. Guess it is time to bust out the tulle for a Halloween inspired tutu!

I have seen many ways and feel like this is more of a toddler proof one better suited for their childrens age group but I would probably make it any way.

Thanks Brooke! I just got everything I need to make one for my daughter Lauren. She is turning 1 on 11/10 and we are doing photos next weekend. This is perfect! I was going to buy something on etsy but his is much cheaper! Tulle is Bogo at Michaels right now!

I just made 4 of these for christmas presents for my gfs with daughters (of course I'm the only one with a son)and they are so adorable, especially the itty bitty newborn one. I really really want to have a daughter now but will continue living vicariously through them for now.
I am making this for my daughters 3rd birthday coming up in June. Its a Elsa inspired theme party. I have watched so many Videos on how to make this kind of tutu and this is the BEST and SIMPLEST way to make by far.

i made one for myself but had some scraps left so i made one for my dog and instead of gluing the elastic waist band together, i put velcro instead so i could put it on and take it off easier xD

Fun! I got all the tulle at Joanne's. The glitter tulle is a little messy but worth it in my opinion ;) We used light and dark turquoise and white glitter tulle...they take about an hour to make so you have time...good luck!! xx B
