Waterfall into Double Frenchbacks | Sport Hairstyles

If you have seen our Soccer Braids tutorial, I need to let you know that was my go-to hairstyle when I was a young girl. For each of my girls, that is the very style we use when they are participating in sports because the hair held up well with all the activity.
Today, I wanted to dig into my past by taking that style and "spicing" it up a bit.
Rather than adding another Frenchback down the middle, I opted to create a double-sided Waterfall Braid down the center of the head. I then incorporated those fall-through strands as the added-in hair for the topside of each Frenchback. It turned out super cute, and leaves a very intricate pattern that I am sure people will notice!

Items Needed: Brush, rat-tail comb, spray bottle, 2 small hair elastics, accessory or hairspray {if desired}.

My best friend has A LOT of VERY THICK hair. High number of strands and each strand is very thick.
Summer of '13, she was the maid of honor and I was a bridesmaid in a friend's wedding and I was doing most of the girls' hair because I've been having so much fun wearing different hairstyles from you guys!
I used this hairstyle from you lovely ladies, but ended it in kind of a bun by wrapping and pinning the finished braids around each other. It was a HUGE hit! She was getting compliments all night about how awesome her hair looked and when people discovered it was me, people kept telling me how great of a job I did!
Moreover, her mom works at a high-end salon. She showed a picture of the style to her boss and her boss put it in their monthly employee newsletter about how popular braids are!
It was all thanks to you! Thank you SOOO MUCH for having hairstyles that work even on very thick hair! (It's the ONLY fancy updo she's ever worn that stayed in all day and all night, even with dancing!)
Btw, your video taught her how to do the zigzag braid. She did it on me for the same wedding and people thought my hair was adorable! ;)

I did this on my younger daughter during the last school year and for her sixth birthday after doing some experimenting. She loved it and got lots of compliments on it

Oh, I hate it when that happens! I think I came up with my own, original, hairstyle and then I find it has already been done! Lol
Oh yes... and it is equally a funny to watch! She is by far our strongest child at that age! All of our other kids pulled stools or chairs around the house. Sweet Pea, she just pulls herself up by her arms!

It still took practice (my main issue is that I am awful at trying to part my hair evenly, especially when I tried to make it in 3 parts, lol... And it seems easier if you make the center section thinner than the outer two)... Best of luck!

i did this hair style on my two daughters and they have long hair and it was pretty easy the only thing is that i couldn't get them to hold the hair for me so i had to put a bobbie pin on each side and put the hair into it while braided it...but other than that it was easy this looked so cute on them...love your videos i get so many compliments on their hair from watching your videos thats so much

Tried it on my daughters hair.. bcuz she has SUPER curly hair wht I did was part a side in the front as oppose to parting going bkwards I did the same braid, thn brushed the other half back into a pony tail..adorable! Talk of da party
