Some of those things happens for gameplay reasons, like the ability to flip a car up. Another ones are because they need to reduce memory, as it would be too system-intensive and "kinda useless" for the developers to waste memory with such very minor details.

Takeshi Well the game was made to run on an Xbox 360, so it's likely laziness like you said or even worse, limitations. Since then all they have done is upgraded the graphics in singleplayer. No minor details or major content updates.

Takeshi Well it wouldn't work well. The engine was made for last gen. No matter what they do, the limits are still to last generation features, even after they port it, because it's the same engine. All they can do is improve the amount of content they can fit in. That's all.

GTA IV didn't allow flipping your car and it created many missions to be lost. Not to mention a hassle when you lost the car you saved.

Neither did any other GTA before GTA IV and they were all just fine if you could drive properly, you can be the biggest moron on planet Earth and still complete GTA 5 it holds your hand so much.
The bus terminal is awful. As a pilot the airport is even worse. The runway signs don't match the runway numbers and there's like 1/2 taxiways and the signs are just repeated. Also some hangers like the one beside devin Weston's hanger can't hold planes cause planes can't even reach it.

The one with the stop signs, I would imagine that its simply attention to detail. Out in Cali, where this is based, there are a lot of roads that are no longer used I.E. roads that become to worn down so they pave a new one beside it. So instead of taking down the signs, they just put up a new one.

My random theories, for no particular reason: 1) The "inflatable" gates are filled with sand so they didn't have to make them collapse when they get shot, which would have taken a lot more effort. 2) Tall fences in certain locations on the golf course might have interfered with the esthetics of the area outside the course. Of all the faulty logic you mention, this one is most likely to happen in the real world, too. I could totally see some HOA organization or something preventing a golf course from putting up fences. Alternatively, the people who run the course might simply have decided there's no need for fences there because overshooting the hole doesn't happen often enough. 3) I'd actually be more disturbed if they had programmed a realistic limit to the amount of blood a corpse will produce when shot. That would seem like a really morbid detail to have put in the game. Also, while you're at it, you might point out that not only do they bleed forever, but corpses stay intact even when put into situations that would normally tear them apart and/or cause organs to fall out. Again, the simple explanation is it would have been way too morbid a thing to put in the game. 4) The tanks blowing themselves up on indestructible fences made me LOL hard. I'm sure the fences there can't be destroyed just to prevent the player from easily accessing the base, but the tanks should probably have been programmed to fire through them or not shoot at all if the fence is in the way. 5) There are several areas of the city that seem badly designed, but I always figured it was a commentary on the way large cities grow haphazardly and compromises have to be made when space is limited. They might have intentionally screwed up the bus station's design for this reason. 6) Ditto for the random arrows in the parking lot. I especially like that the handicap spaces are placed out in the middle of the lot, rather than having been placed in the parking stalls directly adjacent to the building, where they would make much more sense. 7) It would have been nice attention to detail if the buses were assigned realistic routes and regularly picked up / dropped off passengers, but I'm not too surprised that they didn't bother to spend the time programming that in. The suddenly appearing passengers is funny, but makes sense when you consider that the typical point of traffic is to provide the illusion of a bustling city while simultaneously not tanking the framerate. Thus when the bus is further away, it makes sense for the passengers to disappear so they don't have to be rendered, and there's probably code the spawns passengers on the empty buses once you get within a certain distance of them, again to give the illusion that people are regularly using the transit systems in the game. 8) For similar reasons, the behavior of vehicles, drivers and pedestrians in the game doesn't hold up when you follow them around to see what they do. They're designed to be background filler which exist for a limited amount of time while they player is in the area, then disappear once they're no longer needed. Their behavior was never designed to make sense over long periods of time. In the case of the driver walking away from an accident, it was probably a case of the simplistic driving AI causing a fender bender, which often triggers the drivers to get out of their vehicles and start arguing / fighting, but because he crashed into a bus, the bus driver's logic didn't allow for this to happen, so the now displaced driver of the SUV just became a random pedestrian and started following that logic, which had him quickly get out of the street and onto a sidewalk and then start walking normally like everything was fine. 9) There are actually two types of inanimate objects in the game when it comes to their reaction to vehicles -- either they are completely impervious to getting hit, or they are physics objects which get thrown around while maintaining their shape and structure. You can see examples of both in the scene of the car plowing through the items on the beach. The umbrellas, bags, beach balls and inner tube are objects that can move and are thus knocked out of the way by the vehicle, but notice that none of them change their shape as might be expected -- the inner tube doesn't deflate, and the umbrellas don't collapse or turn inside out. Meanwhile, the beach towels are completely unaffected by the vehicle, which isn't really noticeable in this case since they're flat on the ground and don't impede the car's movement in any way. With other impervious objects, like telephone poles, it makes sense that vehicles would be stopped when they're struck without affecting the position of the obstacle. In the case of tents, there's a dilemma. It wouldn't make sense at all and would look really silly if they went flying and bouncing around when struck while maintaining their same shape, and they're too tall not to affect the car when it runs into them. The compromise is to make them impervious objects which has the effect of making them seem like they're made out of steel, but they appear infrequently enough in the game that this isn't that big of deal. 10) The stop signs... uhhh, yeah that's some weird placement. I can only think of a couple reasons why they would put them there -- One, to intentionally poke fun at silly government decisions, especially in the local governments of small towns, or two, to influence the way AI drivers behave when driving on those roads for whatever reason. Both of these explanations seem flimsy to me so... who knows what Rockstar was thinking on this one. 11) The traffic stopping for cars on the side of the road is super interesting, especially since the cars stop so far forward from where your vehicle is. I can only imagine this is a bug in the logic AI drivers use to determine when traffic ahead of them is in the way, but it'd have to be some pretty wacky math error to consider cars stopped on the side of the road and a full car length BEHIND to somehow be in the way. Another remote possibility might be to address a special case in a mission where they needed the AI to behave this way in response to the player's actions. 12) I totally understand the need for the feature that lets you roll your flipped car back onto its tires, but I had no idea you could intentionally roll a car onto its roof. That's hilarious!

Actually this game has been touted as the largest and most (satirically) accurate simulation of a real city yet in a videogame, so he has a right to complain. Also don't pick it apart, just enjoy the derpy errors. Not everything is perfect. If it were, nothing would be funny.

In sonic games, sega wanted sonic to be blue. In GTA games, rockstar could've easily redone a lot of these problems. Such as the randomly placed stop signs, and the fence not breaking, or the sand coming out of the inflatable... It was lazy and these simple things being fixed could add a lot more immersion. But, no game Is perfect.
