  • Splinting can be done to support the victim's arm before an arm sling is tied.
    1) Hold the injury, minimizing the movement
    2) Put the splint to support the injury. Do not put directly on the injury.
    3) Ask the victim, or another rescuer, to hold the injury and splint together
    4) Using a roller bandage, tie both ends of the splint and extremity together. Do not tie on the injury or swelling. Do not cover the fingers/toes.
    5) Ask the victim to immobilize the injury.
