Perfect match for the X-wing! Go for it Dave!
Just staggered by both the quality and condition of this Y-Wing. Great video Dave, thanks for sharing
Greg Jein must have really had an amazing collection!! Would love to see Dave inspect the original USS Enterprise model.
I'm watching this right now and I had to pause at 5:05 just to comment on how beautiful this is, like holy wow! Beautifully filmed by you guys too. I only found your channel when you posted Greg Jein's beautiful Excelsior model the other day and I subscribed straight away. Great stuff! 👍💯💯💯
Welcome! Thank you!
Go for it Dave
Bro you are waving your arms way too frantically near that work of art! I’m sweating watching you!😅
No gloves and picking it up scares me. Beautiful piece and an iconic piece pf Star War history, but it should be handled appropriately IMO.
Amazing model. Just saw the auction results. Thankfully my hobbies’ costs aren’t measured in houses. That said, congrats to the winner. I’m guessing we’ll be seeing more Frank Miller artwork hitting the market? 😄
great stuff! Good luck Dave and if you win I am excited to see more of your art.
Dave, I promise not to bid on yours if you don’t bid on mine.
Thats awesome dave
I’ve been wondering for a long time, and maybe the guys can cover this in a future episode, but how much does ‘owning a set’ impact their decision making. For example, the Y Wing being a great companion piece to the X Wing, and clearly Dave wants it but how much is it because it’d make a great display next to the X Wing… If he manages to go 2 for 2, would he get the urge to get the B or A Wings to round out the Rebel fighter set? Or would a TIE be more appealing? Same goes for things like owning a Stormtrooper, Snowtrooper, and Scout trooper “set”. Would they buy something to make the set, even if they wouldn’t purchase it as a standalone?
Imagine a display case of the x-wing side by side with that y-wing
In Star Wars, in the Death Star battle, there's a brief moment where we see two Y-Wing fighters flying through the trench. Although the shot lasts probably not even two seconds, these two ships look amazing side by side. However I did notice that neither of these Y-Wings are carrying droids in their droid sockets.
Anyone out there know why?
I know I should probably use my thinking time for more important things in life but it's been on my mind for a number of years now. Just wondered if anyone had a good answer.
It’s well known that the Y-Wings had no droids, they simply forgot to put them in‼️
@@olly7248 Good answer. Many thanks.
Interesting how these stolen ships from Star Wars are coming up for auction lately but never is there a mention of how the person selling it got ahold of it.
Your idea of "stolen" is an ILM'ers keepsake from production that is long deceased, the proceeds of which are going to help support his wife. This Y-Wing and Greg Jein's X-wing were handled less and taken better care of in private hands than Lucasfilm has taken care of similar items in the archive, who at one time even had a curator that would take home loose parts off the models.
@@HealthDiscoveryToday nope. Still stolen. Deflection doesn’t change that
@@scograham Were you there at the time to know what transpired?
Dude needs to buy a bra before he buys a Y-wing.
