Yes! I like the raking because it shows where the grass is uneven and where the grass needs to be cut again. Plus, you dispose of all the grass. Which makes the yard look better.
There is no doubt about how strangely satisfying your videos are…..raking is one part of the overall experience. You certainly are one of the hardest working “lawn enthusiasts” I have seen. Moreover, I have learned so much about lawn maintenance since finding your channel. Thanks for sharing the whole experience.
Man, Tim ... the more I see of that flail mower, the more I like it! It's pretty obvious that with the kinds of lawns you deal with, you WILL get your money's worth out of it. Frankly, I am a raking enthusiast when a lawn is this long. It just makes such good sense. Knock it down to something manageable with whatever you've got that'll do the job and without bothering with a bag. THEN do one raking and binning to get the worst of the clippings out of the way. After that, any old lawn mower with a bag should be able to pick up any remaining clippings and leave a nice finish on the lawn. Good point about that remote controlled mower: yu' get to stand in the shade!!! Thanks again for another excellent Free Mow Friday video!
Your flail mower is a real game-changer. It really seems to remove enough of the stolons to allow for improved growth. I'd be interested to see one of the "flailed" yards again in a few weeks/months just to see how it has recovered. I do like to see the raking/removal, but I generally prefer that on time-lapse rather than real-time. I think you do a great job of combining real-time and time-lapse overall.
See the tracked mower on turf and tools. He put it over the same lawn he first did with the flail a few weeks ago.
Saturday night and im watching a bloke mow his lawn lol. Relaxing when you're watching someone else do it.
I do it 12 months a year.
THANK GOD YOU SHOW THE RAKING! So many other channels don't show this step, as if all of the trimmings and clippings magically dissappear. Please never change this, it's nice to see how many bags/bins these huge jobs take!
I like seeing the raking because it shows how much grass there was. Also, you're the only one who does all the steps in lawn care. Forget the naysayers. There are plenty of other channels they can watch. I haven't found any other channels that rake and I think they're lazy because they don't finish the job. I love your videos. God bless❤❤ ❤❤
Watch CJ mowing it's Mom &Son they pick up the dry grass.
There are others. George at QuickCuts, Tucker at TK Mowing and Midlife Stockman.
@jaynereynolds2476 I also watch C J Mowing and they also rake the grass, they also remove all the weeds from the garden beds, fence lines etc. Not only do they do all of that, they also trim any bushes and long hanging down limbs on trees. They do all of this for free and with a laugh and a joke with one another as they work. 😀😀

Back in my day, we used to call them clippings. And you couldn't have your screen time unless it was tidy.

I love that little mower. It definitely needs a camera with a display on the remote so you could actually sit in the shade and enjoy a hammock
Love the raking captures the whole process… hate it when magically it is just gone in the next frame. If it wasn’t captured then we’d miss out on times when you have jump inti the bin to compact the grass. Just another satisfying part of the process.

Great job, my favorite channel, you don't mulch but pick up the clippings which makes a world of difference and a stickler for detail, first time I ever seen a remote lawnmower, I grew up with a push mower and I mean you pushed hard, want no gas powered

@@jcdenton7261 Under normal mowing circumstances sure. But the kinds of situations usually displayed on this channel, the rake/removal is necessary and satisfying.

Speeding through the raking makes the most sense when you are trying to deliver an organized and efficient 30-45 min video.It’s about prioritizing what part of the job gets the attention in order the make a video that flows throughout.
I'm here for the edging and the raking/removal. The actual mowing is... okay. More so when it's long but watching 3-5 passes over the same section with no appreciable changes tends to get skipped. If you were going to cut something out of your videos, that'd be my vote. Keep up the awesome job, Tim. We appreciate your support to our sanity!

I find the remote mower hilarious but when it is so hot I sure can understand using it. And it seems to do a decent job.

I enjoy watching the raking. There are some Lawn Transformation channels that have a million + subscribers who don't even pick up the grass. They would never do that to a paying customer, and my position is free mowing needs to still be done as if it was a paying customer.

It isn't lazy to use a remote controlled mower to do parts of the job. No one is out there with a herd of sheep keeping the grass down.

Thinking of naming things, years ago I walked into this one huge automotive body shop where they had a 25 foot ceiling fan, to which I exclaimed, " Man that is a big ass fan ", and they said, " that's right". A few more back and forth till they pointed out that is the actual name of it. Made by The Big Ass Fan company. And their logo is a donkey from behind looking back at you.

I remember the commercial, but I always thought the line was "He won't eat it, he hates everything." And they are surprised because he does eat it. But I am old, too, so I am not making bets on it.

Hahaha! I’m 70 and remember those commercials! But another suggestion was ‘Goat’, because they also eat everything. I think more people would ‘get’ Goat than would remember the commercial. But just my opinion 😉

The raking is what tells the story of how big a job this was. The industrial push mower plowing through just makes it look like abasic typical sat afternoon back yard...

I've got the same mower, it's a beast, I used it on my property to clear trees as thick as two fingers and to cut the grass that the old owner let go, best investment I ever made

That flail mower really was the best option in such over grown conditions. I really liked your choice of tools for this job.

I love mowing the lawns but my hay fever really gets in the way of properly enjoying the process!
Several kinds of "holy grail's" in Australia. One is finding the water utility location in a yard (despite overgrowth). The second, looking for a machine that can handle the runners and length of overgrown grass. Your flail mower seems to be doing the job. Thanks again to Waste Management. They've helped get a lot of people back on their feet with their yards and have enabled experiments as the flail mower. Was wondering if that was about half a yard of clippings to fill the little dumpster/bin and chuckled when you jumped in and crushed the load down. Knowing your work ethic and persistence, it still was pretty amazing that you got that yard to such a polished state. The robot mower being able to allow you not to be in a bunch of dust at the end was an asset for you.
That flail mower is amazing! It does a fantastic job. Yes, I like the raking part. There's something satisfying about seeing all of that debris piled up and removed from the lawn.

I can’t think anybody would accuse you of being lazy. You probably don’t even know what that means. However, I cannot believe anyone would let their lawn get that high. You did a magnificent job and although it is brown as you said, it will come back again. I have absolutely no doubt you know completely what you are doing but I can tell you are a tech guy. I can’t say I do or don’t like the raking, I just think it is so great of you to pick up all the clippings. God bless you always.

I have mentioned it ages ago, but I loooove the quicktime raking, it gives me a laugh because, well, it's just funny 😅👌. You only have to see how much overgrowness there is to realise how much you have raked, I don't see why we need to see you do it in normal time 🤔, but as you said, polarising it will be 🤷🏼♀️😊
