check out guitar dott kommm . jun626 does a pretty good tutorial. that is where i learned the first part of the solo. but i changed it slightly, because i heard it slightly different.
You can't teach this... you just have to listen and go for it, over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over
Yeah, that’s kinda the awesomeness of it. He really just put it all out there, perfection be damned, and made a sheer guttural explosion of notes that will never be perfectly replicated. One of my all time favorites.
I just looked it up on wiki. It says this, "Page also disclosed to Guitar World that this song in general, and the a cappella solo in particular, was the first recorded instance of his famous Gibson Les Paul/Marshall Stack combination."
Page's memory is unreliable on what gear he used on any particular recording. He given so many different answers over the years. Most of the studio engineers that worked on the early albums recall him using a Tele more often than not. Heartbreaker sounds like a Tele to me. The obvious behind the nut bends in the studio recording are impossible to pull off the way he does with a Paul.
@satjathamma it is a Page burstbucker, not available without the guitar. the individual pickups on this guitar do not go in and out of phase themselves; the middle toggle position puts them out of phase with each other. and i played only the bridge pickup in that video.
Only on the first album. By the second album he had largely made the switch to the Les Paul. Though he may have used the Tele on the Lemon Song. Heartbreaker was definitely done with a Les Paul.
Second solo isn’t right. The notes are correct but you play them at the wrong time. Not that I should criticize, still fantastic playing and the first solo is perfect (actually a little less sloppy than page himself so massive props to you there as well).
Jimmyace2006 but at the start of the solo you were holding on to the headstock area of the guitar and sort of pulling it or something like that, isnt that supposed to imitate a whammy bar kind of effect and involves bending the neck slightly?
One of the most famous rock solos ever recorded... yet not one single person to record a tutorial

Physical Zeppelin the solo is very improvised

Jimmyace2006 where is the tutorial from jun656? Can you give a link?
There is a tutorial on youtube for the entire song: czcams.com/video/0b9_oygdVJE/video.html
Wow. First solo cover of this song that ive heard that actually sounds similar to the studio version
in that video i used a Marshall JCM 900 100 watt 2x12 combo with a Marshall power brake. no effects or pedals.
Best performance of these solos I've ever seen, beautiful man. Also gorgeous guitar
The solo was definitely done on a Les Paul. As for the rest of the song, everyone has an opinion. It sounds like humbuckers to me.
Great job my friend you killed it sounds bad ass! thanks for sharing. Long live Pagey and company!
Great work man. Thoroughly enjoyed this. Thanks 😊🙏😊
Absolutely beautiful man 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
FANTASTIC!!!
That’s one of those solos that you have to say “phew” and wipe your forehead after it’s over lol
That was beautiful 🥺
Thank you for letting me know it’s possible to capture the same emotion. I wanted to give up hope on this solo
sounds really good man!!
Awesome!!!!!! Like walking in the footprints of Jimmy Page!!
the sloppiness of the solo cant be taught even page doesnt replicate the studio version live
Thats why I'm nervous to cover it i work so hard on playing not sloppy lol
Yeah, that’s kinda the awesomeness of it. He really just put it all out there, perfection be damned, and made a sheer guttural explosion of notes that will never be perfectly replicated. One of my all time favorites.

I just looked it up on wiki. It says this, "Page also disclosed to Guitar World that this song in general, and the a cappella solo in particular, was the first recorded instance of his famous Gibson Les Paul/Marshall Stack combination."

Perfect! All the notes are the exact same as the studio recording version of the song.

right
nailed it
Awesomeeeee :3
Damn thats a good sound! Leaving the fact the solos of the song are nearly unreplicables, good job!
Here there are a lot more hammer/pull offs, whereas the original he sounds like he mostly picks all the notes. Nice job.
My fucking my mind dude. You just broke me, and you make the solo look easy...
Hot damn!
Niceeeeeeee
nice guitar !!
Jefe Maquina Monstruo

Yeeeeesssssssss!!!!!!
The shirt looks like Jimmy Page trying to eat his guitar.
your tone is some crazy
Does anyone know how to get the string to keep ringing out on the section where he bends the string behind the nut?
The riff of heartbreaker was actually recorded with a telecaster, the solo was recorded with a les paul. If you dont believe me look it up.
Only on the first album. By the second album he had largely made the switch to the Les Paul. Though he may have used the Tele on the Lemon Song. Heartbreaker was definitely done with a Les Paul.
No doubt. You can just hear that humbucker sound.
jimmy was a riff and guitar lick machine.
Other than being rushed a bit, .... you nailed this solo
not rushed at all
you found that tone fo show
Fucken nailed it! Warts and all.
could you do a tutorial for this solo? There doesn't seem to be one on youtube.

Wrong. Those are two different Gibson Jimmy Page #1 reissue Les Pauls.
That comment deserved an embarrassing shut down. Good job!

i sold the CA 3 months ago.
Guitar god.
Close my man !
Long before "Authentic" was a serious word.
Help if you were in tune
"look it up"?
Need tab
how could sond with a fender
You actually play it cleaner than Page.
what finish is that on the guitar?
Honey burst maybe
What the fuck is that set up on the pickup
sik shirt
gimme tab for solo 1 plzplz
김백남 googlz
clinical depression fuck up
page actually recorded most of the early stuff with a telecaster because the fenders cut thru and record more articulate that a humbucker guitar imo
lol i would never dare to do that neck bending trick on such an expensive guitar.
there is no neck bending. it is string bending.
Jimmyace2006 but at the start of the solo you were holding on to the headstock area of the guitar and sort of pulling it or something like that, isnt that supposed to imitate a whammy bar kind of effect and involves bending the neck slightly?
Jon Ang
No. The thumb is on the string, bending the string on the other side of the nut. No neck bending, not even a little bit.
too much gain.. otherwise superb!
Buscó como tocarla, si quiero escucharla pongo la original y no la copia.. UF
