Lmao .. no one cares about your sad silly little fishing pond,!!,😂😂😂😂😂
Those ‘competition’ websites are basically gambling and can really prey on some people’s vunrabilities. They should be regulated exactly the same as online gambling and have the same warnings. Pretty disgusting if you ask me…
Just run the odds through an online odds calculater, its usually around a 0.03% chance of winning lol
I’m sick of looking at them, cars, holidays, houses and now fishing gear 😂 not a penny will I spend with any of them.
Hi mate if you clay line the pond it should have an inlet and an outlet, clay does hold water but it isn’t 100% waterproof. Most fishing ponds levels drop quite a bit in the summer because the inlets have dried up, they don’t evap that quick it’s because the clay doesn’t hold properly it will seep out everywhere. Good luck
What a nightmare, good job you found it. I'm hoping your fix works and you have no more problems.
Good luck with it. Love what you are doing.
you the guy from matt Armstrong videos .... didn't realise you did pond videos .... just thought you had a fast car and a podcast channel
very amateurish that they didn't deal with the labd drains in the beginning.
I honestly enjoyed watching this. Not the part that’s costing you crazy money just the style of video and the way you’re explaining things is interesting. Good work, I’m going to watch all your older videos now too off this one video. ❤
This was a cool random video to find, SUBBED !
Found u from Matt’s channel. Ex pat here living in America where they shoot carp with a bow. Love your content on fishing and road to success.
At least you have located the problem, that's half the battle right there!
The reason tackle shops are expensive is because they are struggling and need to make money because nobody is using then and buying shit online .
I think people turn to online shopping when things turn more expensive so it's lose lose
I remember a friend of mine, winning a competition, I think it was about £250 of fishing gear , they sent a fox trade catalogue by mistake what a eye opener on what tackle shops make just on one single item 😂
@@chrislee1099 someone told me guru hook lengths that are in the packs of 8 are £1.15 a pop to retail shops min order of 30 i think he said ...majority tackle shops sell em for £3......or 3.99 a pack!!!
@@chrislee1099 independent Tackle shops make a lot less than you think. You can rarely sell at RRP as all the big online sellers and chains undercut you, so you end up having to price match and losing out a lot. Plus the big chains buy in massive bulk meaning they get extra discounts on trade prices from manufacturers.
Angling direct bought up all the decent independent shops, with Johnson Ross being the exception. Yet it’s cheaper to buy online than in store 😂
Wicked video mate hope you get everything sorted out
Jeez one thing after another. Hope it gets sorted 👍
Really well edited
Interesting, hope you get it fixed
Thankyou for documenting this full journey I'm learning loads as you keep going
Thats what its all about! Sharing and learning. ❤❤❤
Most impressive drains. Could be carp digging the clay so might happen again elsewhere.
Hope you have got it fixed.
You should rolled the clay in thin layers rather than just smashing it with the bucket. Doesn't matter if there's mole drains etc around if the clay was contacted properly.
Instead of concrete use blue clay, inside the pond,it’s a bit sticky but a layer of that round your pond no leaks, best of luck🙃
lovely video as always.
You haven't failed at all. You've just encountered a problem. It will all work out OK, stick with it.
hopefully this is the only leak.... 20.000 liter a day is a big leak and i think it isnt only the spot you find
Hope you can get sorted soon you have worked so hard to follow the Dream mate .That is Kev Cox lure angler helping out there seems to know his stuff not just a good predator fisherman it seems
Good job and good luck buddy!
Great content as always Ben, glad to see you doing it all these years later still.
Had the same problem got a local dowser in he marked 3 spots we dug them and the land drains were running so we dug about a meter out and back filled and compacted with clay and the lake filled up
Great video
Really enjoying following your journey. Cant wait till its all properly sorted.
Then go and have a lovely time spending £800+ to fish there… yeah lovely
@Itsmeeeeer Thats for 5 days, 4 nights with accomodation. Agreed it is a bit pricey, but im assuming the price reflects on wanting decent fishermen only.. rather than those who just want to get drunk by the lakeside.
check out BamaBass & his 5 acre bass pond build series , his dam was leaking & he fixed it with a 2 part polymer added to the water which sinks & gets pulled into any cracks & leaks & it sealed them .
I watch bamabass his pond is amazing I would love to go fish there
@@0788ricky87its a brilliant series
His pond has liner as well
@steveoh393 you beat me to it!
@@stephenmorning7039the biggest one is made from clay
In a world where even a feather touching the ground calls for a dramatic talk to the camera
It's called Click Bait.
Concrete and clay is a recipe for failure ..I know we tried it on a small pond we built . Water will find a way past it ..We lowered the pond , dug out the problem and re clayed it , which was the last thing we wanted or needed to do ..but we cured the problem ..
Great work on finding leak lads keep up the good work . Look foesrd to the next video 📹 👍🏻👍🏻
Hope it gets fixed soon !
Hi Ben, are you sure that you have your loss caluculation correct, if the pond is 1sq km, at 20,000 litres / day = 2mm level / day loss, the rainfall / month on average = the water loss, i.e. you are better off just increasing the outlet pipe a little (100mm?) to get you over the summer? - its good to have some exchange of clean water in the pond also.
I have found this channel so interesting! Looking forward to fishing at some point in the future 🎣 ….Smithy
Well done finding the source of the leaks, hope it’s not too bad a job to secure them - good luck
Keep going Ben, stay positive..
Ben, i would look into sealing the leaks up with blue clay personally. i wouldn't use concrete
Especially if it's not waterproof concrete
Hope u get sorted buddy I'm gonna get my rods out there .
Life is one big adventure but well done
Make sure you get water tight concrete because normal concrete will end up cracking if it's constantly exposed to water
It can be done without concrete. Dig below the pipes and fill in with clay. Maybe cut a trench all round that side of the lake and fill it with compacted clay. Whatever, it will always lose water, due to evaporation and it'll run away if there's a hot summer. Seen it before in areas where there is running water.
I'd not want to fish such an unattractive hole in the ground, created purely for profit.
@jonb3311 I know it can,,but if you listen to what he said,,he said we will concrete it..hence why I said what I said lol
@@chrissmith-gn8pv I was answering him more than you. Bloody silly to say he knew about the drainage, but didn't check they'd been capped. A fool and his money...
@jonb3311 we all make mistakes mate,it's a learning curve for him in the future if he builds more...it is a simple thing, that could of been easily avoided
Sounds like you need to do a core trench to solve this problem if not use bentonite clay 👍🏻
If there’s no natural watersource, how much would you also be losing from evaporation?
Eeeesh! Gutted to see this! Hope it’s not too bigger fix
How deep are the clay pipes in relation to water level? You can't cap them by finding them further back. The water will just find another route. If they are not to deep, best bet its to partially drain the lake and cap them where it transitions from lake to bank if that makes sense.
Never heard of gobbing on a dot leaf first, think somebody been on the wind up
Hope you get it sorted easily looks a lovely lake well done 👍
I would of lined it from the start mate best of luck
Bentonite clay powder or granules. Will get sucked in the pipes expand and block them
watching bamabass and Kendall Gray, who both built fishing lakes and both had an issue with leaking, used a chemical compound that you throw in the water and it finds any weak spots in the clay and plugs them. i dont know if its safe for fish or not or if this will help due to the clay pipes but for future reference if you just have seepage through the clay
I had a fishing loch with a dam that leaked so we stirred the bottom of the water up and let the silt fill the leak in that was 20yr ago n it's still their
Ot of jelouse green eyed monsters on here. Fair play to you pal for living your dream 👏 👍
Build a lake where there is a water table!
Jesus!! Great effort though!!
On the bamabass chanel they solved a leak using a polymer based product that was added to the water around the affected area, could a product like this work for you?
Another brilliant video. I felt your pain in those stinging nettles. Did you know that a dock leaf doesn't help, its mainly your saliva you added? To stop a stinging nettle sting carefully pick stinging nettle leaves and squeeze the juice out onto the white lumps. Baking soda also helps
I thought he said “ball sack” on top of the water!! I was looking for a huge ball sack floating around!! Realised he said “Vortex” 😮💨
I’ve really enjoyed watching your journey in building your carp lake. However, please can you stop shaking and swinging the camera around like a jumpy thing on wobble juice. Couldn’t get to the end of this video as I am feeling motion sick😢
Wouldn’t have to drain the lake. Put up steel shutters around the leak and pump out the water that’s trapped in the shutters
Always thought your first builder spent more time drinking tea that getting on with the job properly
At least you found it mate well done
You’re on a bit of a losing streak moorhen Ben !! Done by Matt in a beemer and now getting done by leaks !!!! Seriously mate, hope this gets sorted soon
Glad you found it. Sorry about the Nettles.
Erm... yeah clay holds water a lot... but it's not going to replace a liner....
Add benotonit powered clay to the pool
Perhaps if you did your ground work correctly and took the known land drains out when building your pond you wouldn’t have this problem.
How wasnt this spotted during the build 🤦♂️
kinda why i would have made it deeper than just 3ft dont nip that in the bud fast url loose all ur fish to in less than 2 weeks when its drained dry
Want to fish this lake
I’m no expert but when I used concrete near my garden pond the lime poisoned the fish.
Whats kev cox doin moonlighting as a landscaper 😂
😂
Your builder is a cowboy the concrete won’t last long 🤣🤣🤣🤣
What happens when your Tom makers only associate outside of work. What happens when you tell people not to go to tackle shops because they are too expensive. What happens when you charge absolute ridiculous prices to fish a stock pond.
Eh?
Is this the same guy who raced Matt Armstrong ??
I like multi tasking
I guarantee this problem will reoccur this was not prepared correctly in the first place
Kev knows his stuff here get you fixed up
no wonder you're charging 900 quid friday to sunday
Is it really £900 wow
U gotta be joking.
Wow
It in faringdon as well & people don’t have that money 🤣
How many fish can you take?
top prize is a size 8 hook
No wonder this guy can't drive he's a fisherman
Best of luck, but why build a lake with no natural way to fill it?
Have to sell the Lambo, now?
Good example of somebody with far too much money!
Jealousy is really ugly mate
You're voice is irritating typical spoilt kid. But I like what you are doing.
Mate it's a hole in the ground no character nothing just a complete waste of money
Dude, its been there for less than a year and aint finished. Give it time my sweet x
Does the legend reply
Yes
How is Kevin kox helping you?
Man, what a boring little pond. The fact people will invest and carry so much sophisticated equipment to sit behind a fence and catch a fat, sick carp... is beyond me
Am surprised u got planning for that, considering how much hassle Jeremy Clarkson is having
Is it really going to be £300 a night?
no water supply -building NO fish lake i am afraid my friend
