    • @yiruma80
      @yiruma80 Před 3 lety +3

      Were and was are both past tense versions of the verb to be. But were is usually used in relate to second person singular and plural pronouns such as you, your, yours. It is also used with select first and third person plural pronouns such as we, they.
      We use was, on the other hand, when we’re using the first person singular pronoun I or using the third person singular such as he or she.
      For example, you wouldn’t say, “You was going to the store.” You would say, “You were going to the store.”
      But you would say, “I was going to the store,” rather than “I were going to the store.”
      Got it?

    ma'am rebecca may i ask if this is a legit rule for the subject and verb agreement for basic only, because one of my mentor told me that we can identify it by it's form.
    singular noun form = plural Verb form
    Necklace makes woman fashionable.
    where necklace is in singular form of the noun (without s) and makes is in plural form of the verb (with s)
    Plural Noun From = singular ver form
    Necklaces make women fashionable.
    where necklaces are in plural form of the noun (with s) and make in it's singular verb form (without s)
    just based on what i observe.....idk just a wild hunch.
