    Thanks. Trying to get it all in antique brass is impossible. Only Etsy has the antique finished buckles and that takes 3-4 weeks to get.

      No problem. I understand but if you want you can swap double bar buckles for standard buckles.

    Hi, I bought your pattern on Etsy a few days ago; I plan making it at the end of next week with my 13 yo son (I mean, he'll make it and I'll give him a hand or advice when needed, I'm also responsible of translation, since we're French)... I wondered how you go the antique finish on the bag. It's probably not only a matter of dye itself. Did you use another finishing fluid or a technique to achieve it?

    • @oakleathercraft
      @oakleathercraft  Před 4 lety +1

      Hello Raphael.
      Thank you very much for purchase in my etsy shop. Have a nice work :) Almost 3000 holes and lots of stitching waiting for you guys :)
      I aged leather by felt and candle.
      You can see it in 2:47.
      You can also find more about this technique here:

      @@oakleathercraft, thanks for your reply, I must confess I haven't watched the entire video yet, since I'll watch it in its entirety next week with my son. I read your word about the number of holes and smiled, my son probably isn't aware of this and I will let him count the number of holes :-)
      Anyway my 2 other kids will also be leatherworking and will need my directions, mainly because they are younger (girl and boy, 11 yo twins). I had the bad surprise of discovering an accessory that I missed when reviewing the required hardware : square rings, I only ordered the rivets and buckles... I hope they will be delivered before the beginning of the assembly, but you're speaking about thousands of holes, so it will require more than one weekend...
      Cheers, thanks again for your pattern and directions!
