Not gonna lie, this hack looks like it sucks and it doesn't deserve the narrative effort. Just flooding things with nuzlocke-specific agitators like quick claw, focus band, metronome, forced gauntlets? Like, in normal runs, these are annoyances, and in nuzlockes they're just pure aggravation.
Doesn't really matter how "varied" the hack is if it's all just annoying. Thanks at least for showing the hack off so I know what not to download, but the forced, stringed along narrative for a hack like this that's just pure annoyance just made this more of a struggle to watch since I am of the belief that a hack that is made to be challenging should give a challenge, something interesting to be overcome. This one ain't it chief.

Another great part of the Tiffany Fight that's so great is how her 'defeat message' actually lines up with the build up.

Does anybody remember how grueling getting a lvl99 Pokémon was in gen 2? Doing so requires a will of titanium, and it shows...
Meanwhile young me, who didn’t realize there were easier ways to level up Pokemon (like rare candies) and grinded my typhlosion to level 100 without them:

Or, you know, you were 8 years old, did not speak English yet and were fascinated by your first own Pokémon game, so you just used your starter for everything and kept trying random stuff until *eventually* the next phase of the game opened up. I wish I still had that dedication sometimes.
@@Dutch_is_a_Weird_Language I had the exact same experience. My first game was crystal and I didn't know enough English to read and my parents definitely didn't so I would just run around with my Feralagtr who knew 4 hm moves until I could get to the next fight

My only memories of the original gen 2 games are having a level 99 feraligatr, and then losing my level 98 pidgeot while trying out the pokemon duplication glitch my brother told me about. So no, I don't remember how much grinding it took to get a pokemon to level 99.
The fact that chikorita is finally the number one pick in ANY game fills my heart so much. My baby boy is finally winning!!! 😭😭😭
As Chikorita DESERVES

The second best grass type you can get is Jumpluff, so it makes it the best option by discard, it also have two of the best moves (Synthesis and Giga drain)
I like Chikorita a lot. It has a decent amount of bulk, Synthesis, Reflect, and Light Screen. You can also give it Sunny Day to negate the hail during the Red fight. It's probably the best support 'mon in Gen 2.
Chikorita got such a ridiculous buff in this game that everyone kinda passed over. It basically got Zacian ability for special attack relative to gen 2

I think it was a few years ago, but nah dry bread did a Sunkern only run in normal crystal.
I love how you make this sunkern seem like an unstoppable malevolent god and then literally ohko it second turn
Its funny because without ariados it is a demon, I've seen sunkern end runs not by winning by itself but by crippling whole teams so igglybuff wins alone
It also gets obliterated by Arcanine

Even more emotional damage for sure if they evolved after she white out your pokemon

God the buildup was amazing, I wasn’t expecting all of the poems to come together and when they did, it was legitimately chilling. I have never felt more intimidated by a small child before.

I love how the Sealed Vessel theme is used. The editing in this video is phenomenal, but that part in particular is my favorite part.
I'm surprised the Sunkern doesn't have Substitute. SubSeed Protect and Toxic would make it truly untouchable.
That's why it doesn't have it. With high level pokemon you have to be extremely extremely careful with how you design them.

It’s small but I love the way you didn’t spend any time addressing runs 1-29 and we just jumped right into run 30. Made it feel like we were stepping into a moment in time to witness the run. Huge props to the writing in this one :)

I've been following this on PChal Daily and even though I knew everything that was going to happen loved watching this video. The rhymes and the foreshadowing were fantastic, and if I didn't know the outcome already I would have been sure this was the end of the run. There was so much drama in those fights too - the Megahorn miss, the Zap Cannon miss, the Spider Web, the Dig into EQ, even the String Shot into Nilton EQ strat was fantastic. This game is insane and these videos really make me want to play it myself. Nice job Jan, your scripts keep getting better.

I remember pchal watching an Alpharad nuzlocke and talking about how much 'better; alpharad is as making videos and now pchal is just as amazing. Man, I'd love to get invested in these crystal kaizo runs like I did for the emerald kaizo, especially since they have the same aspect I enjoyed about emerald kaizo, that being that everything is so extremely calculated you have to 4head everything.
But with weeks, sometimes a month, between streams my investment kind of dies down.

Life doesn't give me enough time to watch lives but when I look at videos like this I'm sometimes wondering how much time you spend in a fight thinking back and forth, especially when things go off-script. It would be very interesting just a basic clock running too be able to see it during best of videos like this
