I haven't seen the episode, but the metal is called Cortosis. It's a rare metal that disrupts lightsaber blades. It was introduced back in the old EU books, which they refer to as Legends. This is the first live action introduction of Cortosis.
I really enjoyed this episode. The lightsaber fighting was excellent. The lightsaber deaths were most excellent. The lightsabers malfunctioning for whatever reason was really great. The look on the Jedis faces when their lightsabers wouldn’t work and then sputtering to life was awesome. Was it the material of the helmet or something to do with the planet? I would assume if it was the material more Sith would be using it. My one lightsaber complaint, they weren’t “elegant” they were clumsy looking, almost pipe bombish. Ahh little “Ahsoka” dying was harsh. But the way she died was epic. Sick of OSHA and MAE, I really couldn’t care about these two or their story. When dude threw his lightsaber, and those trees fell, Epic! Yort or “wonder boy” redeemed himself from his arrogance I felt, kinda sad to see him die, but once again he went epically, having his damn neck broken. Drug dealer being the “Sith” was pretty cool. I mean we all saw it, but holy jacked on roids lightsaber mofo!! Btw little tracker guy is sniffing out Mae in the end, just saying. Excellent episode and great review!!
We've seen one offs throughout Star Wars so it doesn't bother me that other "sith" don't have that material or tech. He also didn't confirm, at least to me, that he's a traditional sith. He said that a Jedi might call him that, but I think he implied that Sith is like a racial slur that Jedi use to describe all dark force users.
Great review guys def agree the dialogue was so bad in this episode which is so frustrating but the lightsaber duels was really good, i def think Manny Jacinto did a solid job but yeah so many plot holes about how nobody could sense him hopefully the show improves from here
I agree that the writing/delivery is pretty stilted. I do like how arrogant and vain the Jedi are portrayed. I also enjoyed how Darth Smiley wrecked everyone. It shows how Jedi have been trained in a dojo and taught how to fight in a controlled environment. Meanwhile Darth Smiley is throwing barstools and breaking beer bottles over Jedi heads.
Yeah I've heard some people complain that the Jedi would've done a better job at surrounding and teaming up against him, but they're probably in complete shock that someone with a lightsaber is even challenging them nevermind fighting in such a style.

Ah nice thanks for the clarification
One of the more positive reviews I’ve seen.
Every other episode has been really bad. This at least had top notch lightsaber fights

Nobody could sense Palpatine so that part doesn't bug me that much. Doesn't make the bad parts of this show or this episode better. Just saying lol

@bestfriendsthesequel I mean, he headbutted a lightsaber and shish-kebabed 2 Jedi. I would be shocked too.
Not exactly in the tutorial lol

Low standards. All you need is a light saber battle and a show is good? 😂
No but that part of the episode was fun for me
I watched just to see how far you bend the knee. How does smelling dirt feel?
Huh?
believe me: none of this show will make sense in the end. but i do not blame anybody for liking something.
I'm sure it won't, but at least they got the fight right. Even a broken clock is right twice a day
@@bestfriendsthesequel you are so right. greetings from austria
Hey man! Good to see you 😀. Thanks for checking out the video!
