I watch your videos the same way each time: You reveal the rusted horror beneath the panels, I think that it’s too far gone and feel bad that you’ve put so much effort into an unsalvageable car, then you astonish me by repairing the unrepairable. It will be better than brand new. Your videography skills are first rate, too.

Agreed, Alastair, phenomenally good production values and I think the car will be even better given the meticulous care and craftsmanship. A joy to watch.

The time lapse at the beginning was fun. But to watch a craftsman working with his hands and hand tools manipulating metal into perfect shapes is amazing. And you really weren’t surprised to find rust under the quarter panel, were you?

Thanks for the appreciation. Honestly, I think the "skeleton" was far better than expected. Only negative surprise was the vast amount of brass soldering used in the door lock panel. It basically ruined the edge.....

Hi, thanks for the comment. I did have few weeks of total motivational break, but now I am back in garage. I have had some issues with doors, and some replanning required there. Also I have some updates with engine and gearbox, and got some new tools to the workshop. So lot of progress, but on many different fronts...so making a good episode is bit more challenging and time consuming this time. I have about 14 minutes ready from episode 25, so hopefully I am able to release it within a week or so... Thanks for the comment and stay tuned.

Thanks for comment bro. I am saving ALL the pieces coming out from this build, even the smallest shreds. Mainly to summarize the final count of removed metal, but also they will be visible in the later episodes, one way or another....I see that your Sonet project has a new episode out, I saved it for the late night entertainment..I had a Saab Sonet poster on my wall at the 80's, about same time I found out that Opel GT is kinda cool two seater sportscar...

For a project that's going to be a big chapter of my life I wish I hadn’t just jumped in so fast. I’ve really enjoyed turning rings on my lathe recently, I think I’ll make one out of all the pieces that fall off, and some pieces of the original leather will end up as decorations on a jacket.

Wow, that first minutes of wonderful stop-motion animations really blew me away ! Thank you for entertaining us with all these efforts. Must be very time consuming. But it´s worth it. I guess your audience very much appreciates these animations. They create a certain mood, i don´t know how to describe it. For sure it´s pure art when the tools start to move their own way. I love it. Oh, and for all the metal sheet work, you just again found the perfect score to create some emotions. As always, i must admit. Your taste of music really matches with mine. Whether it´s Jazz or Shred Metal. Had to say this. Finally if i had to name anything in this episode, that leaves a little question mark to me, then it´s this: i feel there is kind of a hard break between the first minutes of animations and the second part. Somehow i miss the bridge between those parts in terms of story telling. But never mind, just sharing my feelings when i watched this episode. Unbelievable how many hours of hard work already spent for this old GT. For sure it´s gonna be among the best of all still existing ones. Do you know any totally rust free GT ? Is there a brand new one in the Opel Museum ? This report from Auto, Motor und Sport seems to show some excellent cars from the factory museum, at least the number plate gives a hint. GG stands for Gross Gerau, the region which Rüsselsheim, the home of Opel belongs.

Thanks Oliver for the comment. I agree with you... there should have a kind of bridge between intro and verse. But on the other hand, the mood change from "automatic" to "manual" was done by drastic change of music... I think there are some completely rust free GTs but they have no road time what so ever...I think even bringing GT outside, will start the oxidizing process....

You know what sucks about this video?
The fact that I can't give it more than one thumbs up.
I believe this is truly your best video/production to date. The opening sequence of the tools moving and the removal and cleanup of the rear quarter panel is top notch. Kudo's for the excellent video production.
Second, and not less than the first, is Kudo's on the quality work once again. I'm in awe of what you're doing and I believe as time goes on your subscribers will continue to go through the roof, not because they care about the Opel, but mainly because they are watching a true craftsman at work. My hat's off to you sir. Well done; I'm a fan.
