if lone knight changed the "fat boy avoiding a puddle" backstep into a forward roll, Red would instantly become way more amazing
Yeah but almost every Character has a forward roll or a forward dash, Gunlancer having a backstep Dodge is his identity and what makes him a Lot more interesting
This is why i respect you more than any other streamer/youtuber. Cause usually gearng up would start by opening mail ask chat for gold and then going to the market, or they would start with an allready ridiculous ammount of gold at hand. Its easy to buy all 100 quality bis gear when you get gifted a million gold, but working arround with a finite ammount of gold makes this whole situation relatable, atleast to mee.
i main red gunlancer, i love the playstyle of seting up that burst window with a dark grenade and if i get a paladin buff i easily crit for 10m charged stingers on yoho

Ik this comment mad late but for a midgame GL just hitting T2 would it be smart to switch from Blue GL to Red GL? Ive been debating it a lot because being blue is consistent n fun n all but red seems more DPS'y and Aggro which to me seems a lil more fun than sitting n tanking.
Technically it doesn’t matter until 1370, you can switch any time you like before 1370 bc that’s when 4x3 engravings become available to you.

In your opinion if both purple and blue play well, which does more DPS? i like both their play styles, but wanna opt for the higher dps build.
I am currently blue in EU but worried about the nightmare relic set for blue that is gona be lacking crit rate.
I plan to be running 500 crit + precise dagger/adrenaline but thats only around 40% crit rate.
Red however has no issue with crit rate and just need to land head attacks for big numbers.
Can you link that engraving calculator?
How do you feel about the counter gunlance skill buff? Is the skill worth using now? If it is, which skill should be swapped out?
It’s unreliable because have to get the counter to get the buff and the hit after can miss a lot of the time. If you would take it you would probably switch out gunlance shot or maybe even the gunlance counter(i wouldn’t) since you need all the other skills

If you have 99% crit rate, wouldnt keen blunt weapon be a really good engraving to get?
Not for red gunlancer because you already get crit damage from lone knight and crit damage has big diminishing returns.

Oh i got it, lets say i normally hit that skill for 1000dmg, a 350% crit dmg would be 1000x3.5=3500 but if i had grudge instead of kent it would be 1200x3= 3600
@@joseamaral4955 its also about the fact that stacking crit damage has diminishing returns in the sense of going from 200 to 250% is a bigger increase (25%) than from 250 to 300% (20%), but yes, what you wrote there goes ontop of this.
Why not go keen blunt if you are almost guarenteed to crit?

Is red meta now on kr? was it before or after the balance update? i dont know much about the raids and abyss on kr, but im asking because if there are more mechanics than boss spam, then blue dont do much
there is no meta, you can play what you want and be MVP
Think of it like this.
Blue = consistent dps while being tanky due to mega shield.
Red = burst dps (massive numbers) while being less tanky..
Both are viable for all current content and future content as the class is a jack of all trade (dps/support/pretty good stagger/has a cleanse(part of the support options)).
Important information for anyone who plans to play gunlancer. You'll start to notice bosses won't sit still for long period of time and often jumps around and thier head hitbox becoming smaller and smaller. This is why I personally think blue is more of a safer choice for future content (some argue blue brings too much dps and is op). Red gunlancer relies on head attack for min-max dps, gotta aim for the head. This why Red gunlancer is harder to maximize it's efficiency to do dps in future content. But Red gunlancer playstyle is much more appealing and exciting to play vs blue.
Hope this helps better inform you.
Bonus tip if you play gunlancer and use surge cannon making sounds whiling using surge = more dmg *^*)9 (jokes)
Oh shoot I forgot you can also play purple gunlancer (lone knight lvl 3 + combat readiness lvl 1). You're just a red gunlancer but with a lvl 1 combat readiness for the shield bonus. In current NA it isn't worth it but later on oh hohohoho but still you gotta aim for head attacks regardless for efficient dps cause you a red gunlancer with a cheesy lvl 1 blue gunlancer engraving for added thicc-ness.

@@KleinesGumi What a worthless and obnoxious response. We already know that everything is "viable" and that you can probably MVP with anything. That gets obnoxiously shoved down our throats ANY time somebody is asking about the damage classes or builds do. Anyway, the meta absolutely exists, even if you close your eyes and scream that it doesn't. OP is essentially asking whether blue or red gunlancer is better. Before the red gunlancer buffs, it was common knowledge that blue was the "meta" gunlancer build because it rivaled/surpassed the damage red could do while being significantly tankier and easier to play. Recently, red gunlancer got some damage buffs and now we're all left wondering if it finally does more/enough damage than blue to justify taking for the players that want to play the stronger build. For anyone that's reading this that's also curious, it seems like most of the top ranked gunlancers on loawa are using red, so it may be the new meta, but they also have relic accessories and armor that we don't. It's hard to get information about it because of all the useless comments every time the question is brought up. If you have nothing of value to add to the conversation, then say nothing.
Why is it more expensive to have 2 builds on one character than having a second character for it? Isn't it only the cost for the presets?

I love red gunlancer, though I feel the developers certainly don't. Alot of the bosses are too agile and some legion bosses aren't even tauntable.
Since most of your damage comes from headattacks that leaves for a frustrating and not so well-thought gameplay for my taste.
Use ur z, ur counter gunlance, abuse push imunity and the shield gain for gaining position in order to dps
Barricade is a good replacement for cursedoll/master brawler? I do my rotation with shield everytime.
i wouldn't use barricade on a rgl since we don't stay in shield as long as bgl.

Yes, but crit damage is additive so stacking it cause diminishing return
I got the same question and found it, lets say you normally hit that skill for 1000 damage, a 300% crit dmg strike would be 1000x3=3000 and if you had grudge it would be 1200x2.5=3000. It gets to a loss of damage if u consider the chance of dealing 20% less dmg. Or if you stack more (350% crit dmg would be 3500 and 300% with grudge would be 3600)

Saw that your stats are base 126 swiftness, how did you get that much without having any accessories with swiftness? I've done the swiftness reputations and I got some from somewhere else, but I'm not sure how I can get more of the stat without putting accessories stats into it.
It is just from collecting stat points through things like roster level and various achievments over time, usually. Or it could be one ring maybe.
His relic bracelet gives 70swift and his ancient one gives 100 swift

Why is combat readiness at level 1 for red build?
Because you get 20% dmg buff while in defensive stance. It will always be active when you do your rotation.

Think I have read the skill little wrong, think the dmg only applies to blue skill.

Lone Knight gives you +50% crit damage already. Going from 200% to 250% crit damage on 80% crit = 25% damage increase. Going from 250% to 300% crit damage on 80% crit = 20% damage increase. Once you include the chance for 20% less damage it becomes less efficient than a different damage engraving
Lone Knight gives the same crit damage bonus as KBW so stacking both is inefficient compared to putting another engraving on

I'll google this after commenting, but why do people use bash instead of shield bash, even when they already use dash upper fire?
Edit: found the reason. Google had no results, but bash lvl 7 has a 5sec attack power buff, while shield bash has none.
bash has a 30% buff, its the highest togerher with hook chain

why do you not take keen blut because your crit rate is up 80+?

@@azudeus ahh okay but crit damage = more dps, if you crit 80% of the time, you can make +36% more damage mathematically using keen Blunt. Because you make +50% more on Crits and -20% less on no crits. +36% is better than Grudge and all the other engravings. And i did not see any cap on Crit+damage.
@@raoulvedder659 its not multiplier 50% on crit. but additional 50% cdamage from base which is 200%, 250% after keen blunt.
based on the keen blunt efficiency table (you can find it in reddit), at 80% crit rate on default crit damage, keen blunt gives u 19.8% more damage.. but lone knight 3 itself already gives u 50% more cdamage, which turn the efficiency into 15.8% on 80% crit damage
im not an expert tho so cmiiw

@@raoulvedder659 CHC is only the prerequisite. The one that decides whether KBW makes sense is CHD. Higher base CHD (as is the case with Redlancer) makes KBW less valuable.

He explained that it doesn't always give u the cheapest options, it's just very convenient but it doesn't always give you the most optimal setup for saving money. He said u can save a few thousand gold by manually calculating it

I have played red as well but instead of fire bullet I use Shield charge to enhance mobility. Red is fun as hell
Fire bullet is super useful, helps reducing cds on your damage rotation
@@Flintt I am totally agreed especially pair with rune to reduce cds but for low level gear, swiftness is still low to run around. When boss are running around or I got pushed back far aways, it is hard to maximize damage. I will change to fire bullet again with proper gears and stats . This build is only when high gear or 1370+

Depends on fun. Most people choose blue because it's safer and easier.
You stop having fun when the guardian jumps out of your combos 2 ouut of 3 times.
Or when on progress you have to chuck potion von CD while you basically don't have to do anything for blue for +- 5 difference.
