    Great vid! Your spot on. I have my network set up this way but use 2 repeater bridges off the main. Got a curve for you here. I'm running a linksys ac2600 as my main router, a linksys wrt1900acs in my shop 280 ft from my main router. Down loads are right at 48-49, 18.5 up. I also "had" a hiseeu wifi camera system hard nat cabled to the repeater in the shop, everything worked great, i could watch my cameras anywere on the app for it even states away. Had a power outage day for about 6 hours. Once the power came back up if the camera system is even powered up not connected to my net work, no wifi in my shop, no 5g in the house?? My isp did intrude into my net work as they added/changed the names in all my connected devices from the name they had to, name, isp name. Hard wired firwall fixed that, but the camera system still kills the wifi network? With the camera system powered up not connected to the network i get .5 down, 0 upload on my wifi. Tried differant wifi channels, nothing works, camera maker says it's my network??? Any insite regarding ths issue would be great. I'm not a newbe here, just don't do it for a living.

    • @richardlloydusa
      @richardlloydusa  Před rokem +1

      You have to start piece by piece. There are various problems that occur when you get a power outage. First off what caused the power outage? If it was lightning you have no idea what would or could be affected by that. Basically all and or some of the hardware could have been damaged by that and software too. Then there's brown outs and power spikes when they turn it back on too on to of all that then you have the ISP getting in the works too!. I would do a hardware reset on all your gear and reconfigure from the modem on. I have a video on how to test your modem too here: czcams.com/video/Z17bLYCAo0w/video.html

    Is the Lynksis WRT 1900AC considered a smart router? I have 2 of them already and want to expand signal strength and coverage in my multi level house. I am looking at the Cat 6 wired method for my situation. Will all my wireless devices automatically connect seamlessly to the strongest router? Great video!

    • @richardlloydusa
      @richardlloydusa  Před rokem +1

      It is a "smart" router but just so you know there is no real definition of what "smart" means (makes me think of the real world! LOL) so check the Linksys doucumentation for your router to get a more clear idea of what they mean by "smart router".

    what's the difference of cascading routers (LAN to LAN) in your older video, vs using the "bridge" choice in Linksys software and plugging the two routers in with LAN to WAN? I thought "bridging" make the two not able to share resources? Or is it just terminology?

    • @richardlloydusa
      @richardlloydusa  Před 2 lety +3

      In this configuration the function is the same (extends a network sharing all resources) but how it does it is the difference. There are many variables experiment with it and see which one works best for you. Thank you so much for commenting and watching. I appreciate it greatly. All the best.👍😀

    Is it the same procedure when you connect linksys router (2nd router) to the other different router (main router) like (converge). Ex : converge > linksys?

    • @richardlloydusa
      @richardlloydusa  Před 2 lety +1

      This procedure applies to Linksys Smart WIFI routers only. If you wish to connect three routers together to the Internet I have a video on how to do that here: czcams.com/video/LFdGsLofmds/video.html

      @@richardlloydusawell I live overseas in Panama, tigo is my provider, the thing is that I even change the router thinking it was due that it is 4 years, bought the same, it’s new but the light comes on anyway and wifi goes bad, firmware is updated

      I really like the EA8300 and mine has been doing the same thing. I believe it's some kind of bug in the latest firmware update. Even when the yellow globe is showing I tested and I can still browse the internet and ping www.google.com . I'm experimenting with a third party firmware called OpenWRT on the EA8300. So far I really like it. I may do a video on upgrading the Linksys EA8300 to that firmware. Thanks again for the generous contribution. I appreciate it greatly. Here is my situation I have a IPTV box (MAG254) which will not connect to my internet, I get a Error code 1020. I beleive it is because my ISP provider is blocking the IPTV's portal address. My thinking is to connect another router with VPN functionality to my existing router(TP-Link Wireless N Router WR840N model:TL-WR840N) and there by connecting the Mag254 to the VPN.Will my theory work? this is all going to be wireless.

      Both routers should NOT be on the same channel if you have them connected by wire. It will cause a lot of collisions. Try them on two unique channels. The best ones are 1,6,11 so chose any two of those three and if you wish play around with different combinations to see which combination gives you the best result. Thank you so much for commenting and watching. I appreciate it greatly. All the best.👍😀

      @@richardlloydusa yes I have them connected and started to put them both on the same channel for the 2.4 and the 5 thsn that’s when I started running in to issues I watched a lot of CZcams vids . I use my gaming router to help me get the most out of my 330 internet service provider but have been getting disconnected and when I’m trying todo a big level with my friends I get disconnected so if I do what it says I’m this vid with my Linksys MR8300 the channels shouldn’t get crossed and I can actually stay online with my friends? Because I thought you would just have to hook it up and put them on the same channel? Now I know you should Not do it but I got the hitron router from service provider but I want to use my said router by following what you do in this vid I should have no disconnects nor interruptions? Take a look at this video I made: czcams.com/video/Z17bLYCAo0w/video.html you need to start at the very source of your network connection to see where it is failing at. There's not much sense working on your WIFI connection if the problem lies elsewhere. I will be making a video on WIFI optimization in the future too.
