Minnehaha Falls - Lake Rabun, GA

Not far from Tallulah Falls State Park and just to the west, you can find Minnehaha Falls off Bear Gap Road where Falls Branch Creek feeds into Lake Rabun. The plan was to fly the Phantom 3 up and down the falls but for the first time since I got it, the P3 wouldn't locate enough satellites to allow it to fly with true GPS guidance. The moment I lifted the quad off the ground to hover, it immediately toof and fly uncontrollably until it crashed. Thankfully, all it sustained was a broken prop and after replacement, it flew just fine once we got home again and it could pick up the satellites :-)
I was there today, climbed to the top. It's beautiful waterfall hidden in the woods area.

+Eric Newman Spring is definitely here in spite of the 32 degree temp last night (our last frost of the year probably). Still waiting for the trees to fill out so I can get some contrast footage from my winter flight footage around the neighborhood.
It's cold here too: 71°F outside at 3:30 AM 😄

+Eric Newman We've passed through there a couple times and we were not impressed :-) We'll probably be looking for higher altitudes to beat the summer heat and general bug populations. Great Sand Dunes National Park isn't too far from there and is a place I'd like to visit again but we'll stay clear of Pueblo :-)

+SlayerX Purington We moved here 26 years ago from Long Beach and we absolutely love it here. Clean air and water, low cost of living and housing and 1/7th the population of SoCal. I do miss things about California and love it when we come back there to visit :-) Peace :-)

When we moved here in 1990, we bought a new 3 bedroom house on 3/4 acres of lakefront property (39,000 acre lake) with a private boat dock for less than $100K :-)

+Pauls POV They get their position and orientation from GPS satellites. They can fly without them (including indoors) but you need open space in order to take control properly. Normally when you take off and let go of the joy stick, the craft just sits there and hovers perfectly in place above the point of take-off.
