I’m a big fan of Dave but please don’t stuff like this if you don’t know much about rap, he’s probably the best in the UK but isn’t even top 20 overall
I'm 25 and always loved English rap full stop. Dave is a genuine inspiration to the scene. Long live the wileys the dizzees and all the rest but Dave has come in and he will take over. Mature mind for a young guy, spreading the right messages none of the negative shit
Okay based on that comment I can't even assume how old you could be, but first off the slang he used on this show is used all over London (Including North lol), also consider these words are used in other parts of our country. Adding to that the way we speak comes down to demographics. Our generation has been carrying slang words from primary school days up until now - Passing over the new vocabulary over to our parents' generation over the years has made it more acceptable as modern day English. Just like the new gens pass it over to us now. Just because someone uses slang does not diminish nor prove someone's intelligence (or lack of), like-wise if someone has an extensive vocabulary... but I won't get into that too much as gauging intelligence is subjective. I'm a professional in my mid-20s it's got to the point where I've been in offices and meetings with people between ages 35-60s where regardless of colour and regardless if they've been silver spooned or come from the gutters, inherited wealth or not; we all use slang. I personally try to keep it 'professional' at work but if I get too comfortable my 'road' side comes out and no one even flinches. I highly doubt i'm the only one who's noticed these changes over time.
I agree wholeheartedly with Dave when he was discussing the 'You don't have to be good to be popular'. All of these artists are having 'moments', even though a lot of the time, they're actual garbage songs. Respect to Ed OFCOURSE, but I do think he's wrong in saying 'You've gotta be good to have a hit', I don't think you have to be a good musician, maybe good at capitalising social media significance, but nothing else. People are blowing up on a daily, and their moment will pass just as quickly. Talent brings longevity, and we see this if we look deep enough.
He’s relatable also. His analogy of the electricity and leaving the light on, making a change, is a staple in a poor household or just anyone nowadays..
dave is such a relatable human being, both in his music and interviews. hopefully in the summer i can finally see him live. beautiful conversation, collab on a song tho
Interviewer made it way too serious and tense no wonder mr Dave said like every 3 seconds, need ed and Dave in a interview like stormzy and Ed did!!! Let them guys chat never mind all that middle bollocks
I am from Southwest London grew up around Tooting/Streatham/Brixton and went to the same college as Dave at Richmond. He is 3 years below....and I am proud of his success. I am a 34 year old Asian man! Also have met the interviewer several times, Nihal. Ed Sheeran saw one of his first performances in Balham SouthWestLondon
Daves point about ignorant horrible people and people being hateful from a place of knowledge is so true. I have learnt so much from his music it has such a big educational as well as artistic value. Fave song 💜.
Ed is the most adorable person on earth and he's come so far in the past 11 years I've personally known about him, I found out he existed when I was 3 and he carried me to who I am now. Honestly to God if it wasn't for this man I wouldn't be alive he melts me heart with his lyrics and personality and he's the best thing that ever happened to me💙💙💙
Can't wait for this. You're a massive inspiration to us, man - on and off the stage. If any fellow fans are interested in learning Perfect on guitar, we've got tabs/a tutorial on our channel :)
I can appreciate self promotion like this, not telling someone to watch your videos, but just letting people know what is on your channel for people who are interested.
@@lucianmoss1140 Ah thank you man! Literally just wanna spread the love for Ed's music by getting more people to learn his songs :) Been listening to his albums on repeat haha!
I can’t wait for this interview about the power of music. For me, music has the strongest healing power. It has always helped me through rough times, especially the music of Ed Sheeran who is my all time favourite artist. There are so many things about him that made me fall in love with his music and he’s my inspiration. I love all his songs, his albums, his covers and the songs he’s written for other artists as well.
Love your music Ed. You are such an amazing person. I listen to your songs every day for years now. My biggest dream is to meet you. I hope you never stop making music. ❤
Dave stands out to me cos he's actually got something to say unlike a lot of music today which will be lost in time Dave will always be relevant as a window into life in the uk in the 20's
Thank you for sharing this with us. It felt like a conversation more than an interview and I really apreciate that. Love the honesty the sincerity... Ed you sounded a bit pessimistic about the power of music. Well, I went to lots of concerts (including yours) and the reason I have so many good memories is thanks to the people I met in the crowd. Theses people are now very good friends and we go to other concert together ! I think that no matter what is happening in the world, concert are our "safe place" where people just genuinely come together ! And even if sometimes I start to feel that the world is falling apart, theses unique and incredible moments at concerts just warm my heart and bring me hope. xx
I came here for Ed and if I’m honest I’ve never even heard of Dave. But Dave (not that you’ll read this) but you are the sweetest and one of the most authentic people I’ve ever seen talk about their music and the world today. You reminded me of a younger Ed Sheeran in that way. Very classy men. Great interview by all three of them.
Favorite song of Dave's? Black. Favorite song by Ed Sheeran? All. I actually just started listening to Dave, and when this came out I was like, BRUHHHHH NO FREAKING WAYYY! I love you Ed and Dave! Thank you for bringing this awareness to the world and making it at least a little bit of a better place! And anybody reading this? Keep listening to their music. It is so wonderful and empowering! Makes you really wake up to the world.

Of course!!!!
Two of the finest musicians in the UK
Agreed! 🧡

@Joe S Yeah he does, he plays the piano on many tracks and writes his own songs and directs his own videos
@Joe S interesting. what qualities does a genre need to qualify as music to you? genuine question.
Check out the new collab
the guy in the middle reminds me of the therapist on psycho drama
Gilbert hahaha yes👏🏼
I think that might be him actually
72vince27 nah the therapist is fraser t smith, dave’s producer
Exactly
aye I was just thinking that
Dave isn’t a uk artist anymore, he’s a global phenomenon
E9 HOMERTON B period!!!!
#E8 still
Bit over the top cringe
Hes not a phenomenon yet no disrespect but hes just super underrated
Ahiru agreed but he’s getting their already top of the uk so only a matter of time
Dave says "like" in his interviews more than he says "look" in his songs 😂😂
Very underrated comment
If he says ‘look or ‘hey’ you know it’s going to be a heavy bar
This interview has just shown me that Ed and Dave need to collab on a track at some point in the next 2-3 years, both real artists.
MCM_333 rah I was thinking the same thing 🙏🏽
Worddddd
👀👀
Ed sheeran should remix "voices" from Daves album. would suit him
Wdym next 2-3 years bro this month 😅
Dave is the GOAT. Special artist fr
We agree! 🧡
Dave is bigger than UK music
🧡🧡🧡🧡
Much bigger. He’s way above his uk colleagues in rap
Lol
King Tut Except J Hus tho😂
Nah he’s ahead of my dan J Hus.
Ed is big fan of Dave and plugged his song on his IG a while back
Facts! ✨
what song?
Ed does that for so many artists. He uses his platform to help promote other artists, just shows how down to earth he is.
Ed: Oh it was raining earlier
Guy in the middle: yEs bUt WhAt MaKeS yOu dIfFeReNt
I love what Ed said about being weird. I can relate so much to that and I agree it makes for much more creativity in life.
reminds me of this song! czcams.com/video/bOn_17_Xq_g/video.html
Dave throughout the interview: "like like like like like"
JawZz Ed too said some “like”😂😂
@@veelin8267 did he say "like XYZ" though?
Seems shy off stage
@@K1C2F3A4 Agreed he's really quiet
Okay?
Like how Dave is articulate and you can tell he's intelligent but he doesn't change his voice or London accent.
I love how Dave isn’t just agreeing and is standing by his points. Even when it’s against the number 1 artist in the world
🙌🙌🎅🎅
ed Sheeran ain't the number 1 artist in the world lmfaooo
Michael Jackson?
40000 for me he is. In terms of world rankings it’s him Ariana Beyoncé Adele atm
Charles Kelly who’s that

the middle guy talks like my dentist
He is my dentist
he sounds like a psychologist trying to confuse them
Looks like a dentist too
Looks like an Iraqi Negan and sounds like my counsellor
Swear he's the voice in the song environment?
Dave is easily the best UK rapper in the world, and top 10 rn imo
Best UK rapper in the WORLD.
He is incredible! ✨
He’s the best rapper in the uk. Top 5 in the world. Best for me but I’m biased
I prefer XYZ (not really, he's from my home town, all Streathamites are proud of Dave and what he's achieving)
I’m a big fan of Dave but please don’t stuff like this if you don’t know much about rap, he’s probably the best in the UK but isn’t even top 20 overall
Weird, this Dave guy looks like modie
😂😂😂😂
Moldie fakes his own death and came back as dave
modie's successful twin brother
Man like Modie
Very articulate interviewer a lot of good questions asked and not one of those bullshit interviews. Respect to all of them
HLR Production for real!

Dave was talking south London slang the whole time and just intergrating big words here and there it was funny
We love south London! So many amazing artists came from there! 🧡
U mean London slang😂
He didnt really use much slang, he just speaks with a strong street accent. Overuses “like” a lot but thats it really

2:50 Dave casually cracking his knuckles over Ed talking
It's just a coincidence, it's not going to hit haha
