Look no further, team. This is exactly how you do it. Might take a few stabs to get the line through both sides. No need to take the cap off. Thanks for this video!!!
I just used this video. Thank you. They have these two color replacement packs also where one side is orange and the other side is green and the lengths are precut. You center the middle inside the machine where the colors meet. Very nice.
Just a word of advice... Straighten out the line as much as possible. After dividing equally, grip the lines closer to the spool and start feeding it slowly, keeping slight tension on both lines so they don't tangle during the winding process. You will lessen the chance for a jam like you had.
Just had one and it won't be long before I follow your example. After threading the line, I plan to use a permanent marker and mark up to a foot, so I have an indication when to replace the line next time. Thanks for this video.
Straight and to the point thank you. Mother just got one of these things and I wasn't sure which model it was off hand, once I found that out took me straight to your video; I got the line in off of one of those 5 packs @americansulla9637 mentioned below; only thing annoying about them is they're always taped up a bunch I had to cut the tape off with scissors - no big deal. After that didn't know how to wind the string up; other models are different you rotate the piece on the bottom instead of pushing the button.
Thank you for the video. Just bought one and haven't tried it yet. How much line do I cut out to feed it in? I'm sure I'll eventually get the swing of things.
My ego spin trimmer has a low IQ apparently. It does not want to advance until I’ve spent way too much time spinning with a short little line. Mowing 15 or more lawns per day I need to be efficient every minute I am working and this trimmer seems to want me to lose money. Everything else about this trimmer is great. Any way to get better advance from the IQ?
Update: When I bought the .95 Ego branded trim line, the advance IQ was back to OK. Apparently the .95 ugly twist that I have used in my other spin trimmers does not like the IQ.
@@socalRooster after going back to the Ego packaged / branded line the IQ feed works well enough, nice. For me “commercial “ just means one man doing lawns 5 days per week and my previous Dewalt 40volt trimmer still can do the everyday on one battery after 5 years of “commercial “ use. I wanted to get a backup battery trimmer and so the Ego found its way into my trailer. So far with the 5ah battery and up to 15 lawns in a day trimming down whatever needs to get done. I also have a HD Stihl trimmer that definitely has more power than any battery spin trimmer however it’s heavy and I have to yank a starting cord every lawn and between that and a gas blower pull cord…..my old shoulders get more pain than I need. As solo lawn contractor with over 60 customers I have found battery equipment to be the way to go, as a homeowner I can’t imagine why not!!
I have watched this with my jammed IQ and can't get the top off. You say push in. I just can't do it. I'm a weak female. I like the kitty I hear meowing.
