I think Tier 5 is where the perfect storm is at. Its dominated by excellent ships like Queen Elizabeth, Fubuki, Nurnberg, Gaede, T-61, West Virginia, California, etc it also happens to be where most players severely over estimate their skill since they have such strong ships concealing their deficiencies. Pick one of your best commanders in a ship and class you are comfortable in and then it's all in the hands of matchmaking rng lol I'm really fond of German dd's for krakens. They have solid guns and torps, so you can flex in nearly any team composition.
Very much agree. It’s a good tier for farming citadels too. Warspite, Dunk, or any American BB can just wreck ships at that tier.
I acquired two krakens. The first Kraken I obtained when I was on the Giulio Cesare (the enemy Furutaka sunk me, but I still managed to land the citadel shot). The second one I was on the Odin, while I sunk 4 ships, until the last one was the Helena. After several frustrating attempts, the last shot hit the Helena and I managed to obtain my second kraken.
Leander used to be my kraken baby. Nice to hear someone else rates it!
I've given up on getting a kraken and just focused on helping the team win the battle.

If I have not said TY yet then Thank You. I also think like you are doing here. I play games to win and to help my TEAM if if a TEAM game as much as I can. I will put myself out thier to help the team if I have too. I am not a stats player, so like you I believe in Karma. I do have to get this Kraken as well and satyed up all night last night playing to no avail. I only had one of my best games in my CALI. My first 4 shots fired I citadeled and took 4 ships down to nothing which should have sung, but they did'nt and got out of my reach and reload time and a tiny destroyer that was within their ranch took all 4 kills. To make it worse it was with their guns, that is how much health I took from all 4 ships. i was so pissed after. Anyways I cooled down and I am still trying as of today, it seems to be the last day. So I am hoping theses Kraken Karma gods bless me today. I also had a game yesterday were I spawned all on my own on the other end of the map in a BB. There was only 3 v3 and the other 2 spawn together so I go capp and tell them to retreat. Instead They charge forward into the 3 vs 2 and both get SUNK. So now it's me vs 3 I get 1 sunk. and cap 2 apha n bravo. Biut eventually they both ( A Cali n Kamikaze 0 Come hunt me down and I could not get them both as they stayed together firing from 2 different sides. Anyways I then get a message from the dude in the Cali that charged forward and got blown up in less then 2 minutes in, messaging me GG YOU NOOB. All I did was LOL.I was the ship by myself capping 2 bases and all they had to do was fall back until we could all get close enough. I did not have the reach to fire on the opponent or I would have. Point is there is a lot of selfish and dumb players in the game, they play for their own stats and when that goes wrong they want to blame others..HAHAHA. To me it's a TEAM GAME.PLAY IT AS SUCH, help your teammates and stop looking to take everyone killls, like when they never fire until a ship is almost sunk.lol If I see any imminent threat I am doing what I need to do to help WIN as a team, even if it get me sunk. Wish most gamers that play this game play this way. Anyways thanx for the video. Now I have to go stress myself out trying to get this Kraken done, which is something I only got done once playing the cpu..lol not PVP. I wish everybody GL, hoping I get it as well. It is the only thing I need right now to finish this AIGLE mission.Stay cool man
Got my kraken tonight.
After playing tier 3 and having not a single kill tonight, I switched to my Iowa and got it with the first try.
My problem is getting 4 kills and the fifth someone kills it just before i can ... happened about 8 times now ... pretty frustrating
Dunkirk French BB is the one I have the most on, not at all my best ship nor favorite but I think for the tier it’s a beast.. mini jean beart.
ARKANSAS has been the ship I've gotten the most krakens in uve came close within 4 kills of 4 or 5 games and get robbed doing most of the dmg to the enemy ships also I took a break for afew days hopefully it is calmed down enough to where I can try it again tonight
Last Kraken I've got was in Yamato in 6v6 game. A lot of citadels 😁

I have the Giulio Cesare. She is my go-to Tier 4 premium Italian battleship. I have my first kraken when piloting her.
I almost got my kraken until someone stole my last kill for it
I am going to pay more attention to the kills now. I have been so focused on my Kraken that I haven’t thought about anyone else lol. I’m going to be a good person.

I got my kraken with the g101 im.so happy I love aigle it's so so good it took me 24 attempts yesterday lol I also recommend the gremyaschy and guilo and iwaki. But the aigle is so worth it. Very good ship
One word to solve all of your kraken hunting problems: Iwaki.

I don't know how many times i said get back when i was chasing my first kracken each and every time totally ignored it sucks so much even more when you have done severe damage to the enemy and your team still can't throw you a bone

Totally agree about the sportsmanship piece. I’ve got my Kraken. If the game is out of reach, I seek out those 4-kill red players and engage them. I fire the guns in my DD or go broadside in a cruiser or BB. I don’t give it up, but I provide an opportunity.
My mutsu works well usually had a few krakens lately 😂.
Hit cruisers first then move onto the bigger targets.

One more way is to be the last one standing. That's how I got mine today, tier 3 Ishizuchi. Everyone comes to you.
I probably played over 60+ matches and no kraken. I was close with the Weser but my 5th kill was stolen
If you need to gt a kraken just play a tier 3 ship or tier 4

The ZF-6 and the Benham are good for krakens.
I already have around 70 of'em but I guess it can help to get another one 😆

@@biggreen1495 ngl it was extremely difficult but man, for some reason it felt way satisfying than with a normal ship, at least in my case.
Got 3 Kraken this week, Kamikaze, Aigle (got her from a crate back in 2019 or 2020) and Oklahoma all the way. BUT! Do not go Kraken hunting in a division! I did it in the beginning and its a not a good idea! We got an overall Winrate around 70% in Standard. It is almost impossible to get a Kraken if you got 2 other good player on your team or in your division! Good Luck! :-)
Tier 4 you forgot Guilio and Konigsberg. Those are really good ships to get kills if you know how to use them.
Got it in my Kamikaze. That ship is deadly. The Aigle turret turn speed is slow AF (my first thought after a few games).
Turret turn speed Is bad on all of the tech tree French dds but the shells do a lot of dmg so they can be good if the guns are already positioned correctly
(BTW I play le fantasque so u can trust me 😉)
@@MonsieurAwn Gotcha. I never progressed French DD tech ships after Tier V after I noticed all of them are lacking smoke.
Luckily I got that Russian Igor? I think from a crate that buffs turret rotation speed. I put him as an inspiration along with Bey and made it a lot better.
I still prefer my T-61. Hydro is just so nice to flush out and hunt DD. and the rotation speed means so much in a knife fight.
I helped a Hood get his kraken by being his 5th kill and it wasn't that bad
I got my kraken in my first real attempt in the Giulio Cesare and, on top of that, it was a 6 kill game, just to make sure. I got REAL lucky

Trying to get a Kraken with a destroyer in a carrier match up, is next to impossible. Especially if your constantly spotted and targeted by aircraft and therefore also by most of the enemy team. The fun police at its finest...
Well the CV population has been down tho the new CV spiked tier 5 again every CV i see is zuiho lol and tier 7 but not tier 3 rarely but yeah thats if the CV knows whats it doing most don't lol
@@doomguy.23frommars60 unfortunately for me, doesn't matter if I'm at tier 3, 4, 5, 6 or 7, if I'm in a destroyer, cruiser or battleship, I've been getting games with CV's like crazy. Out of only 20 games, at least 4 matches didn't have CV's, which is astonishing. My luck for a Kraken yesterday was horrendous. Here's hoping my luck still holds out for the duration of this mini event.

Got mine with giulio Cesare. Highly ranked commander in a good ship in a low tier match with enough inexperienced and low level commanders. Seal clubbing at its finest. You do what you gotta do to compete the mission.

Kraken is pure luck. It's a culmination of the right shots with just the right rng and just the right player movement. 99% of the time though you leave a tiny bit of health and the kill gets stolen.
