Man I really hope this continues, I don't see many DetCo reactors and I just really want to see more of this
This anime started in 1996 and is still ongoing and it released its 26th movie this year and detective conan movies are hugely popular in japan. Every year the conan movies are one of the most grossed movies in the year of japan. That proves the might of this show . You just have to be a bit patient with this show at the beginning. Slowly its really gonna grow on you.

The recently released 27th movie is the most grossed movie in Japan currently and all time 27th which is a brilliant coincidence

I'm a fan of Detective Conan, and it's so hard to find ppl who do a reaction video to it. DC does have a good amount of fanbase around the world, but somehow it's not as hype as other anime nowadays. I guess detective stuff isn't for everyone. Oh also, the animation does become newer and better as the season goes by. The show is still on going, too, and I promise the movies of this series are fire. My fav is the movie 18.

Love reactions to this show. Notes-- 1. Yes, most episodes have a post scene plus all movies do as well. Some two parters don't. 2. You may want to skip the next episodes hints. They can spoil the mystery. 3. Yes, he knocks him out. In fact, it's a running gag of the show. 4. There are three types of episodes. First are murders. Second are kid episodes. The show is a prime time show in japan and lots of kids watch so here and there they will have a "detective boys" episode more kid aimed. Some of these episodes can still have gory deaths ironic or a smaller mystery. Last are for later in the series. They are long story arks some borne type crazy plots but you have some time before those. Enjoy the show. If you watch the movies and ovas they may take place at times of the show and spoil something so heads up on that. Show is pretty fun.
Its a good anime for a reactor who is building his subscribers because the the most popular animes are already reacted by youtubers with lots of subscribers. So reacting to those will not give you much views. But this an anime which is in that medium range popularity and people who have watched it are huge fans . Famous youtubers dont react to it bacause its very long. So its the perfect anime to build your channel. Another youtuber with a small amout of subscribers reacted to it and his first video now has over a 100k views
My favorite anime of all time. Heck my favorite TV show of all time. I restarted from episode 1 when the lockdowns began, and even only doing 3 episodes at a time and taking breaks for other shows and gaming AND including all the movies, I still caught up in less than 3 years and now my life has a massive void cuz I gotta wait week to week. XD
As others have said, it is a very slow burn. But Aoyama (the mangaka) is weaving together a masterfully crafted tapestry of plot threads that all intersect. Each arc builds on the one that came before and it just becomes this massive rabbit hole of intrigue. Also most of the songs are absolute bangers. Conan alone probably comprises about half my anime playlist on Spotify.

Brother it's good to have you back and hope everything is on track now. And yeah I'd definitely like if you continue this series cuz I've heard about it a lot but never watched it myself so would rather give my reaction alongside yours instead of watching it on my own.
Conan is a pretty good show but don't expect the main plot to develop fast, it does build up to be pretty big with many characters on both law enforcement and organized crime involved but it takes time, the focus on the show is on the individual cases and the massive supporting cast that develops, there are so many recurring characters I can't even count them anymore.

Japanese fans said something along the line that many of these tricks in this show were tasted in real life before used in the show.

one thing i like about this series is even though it is very even though it was episodic there is character development i always felt that shinichi while not a bad person was kind a little more full of himself and maybe did the detective thing more for attention and treated more a game but after a certain episode i think he relises that this isn't really a game and takes it a bit more seriously and humbly what do you think

there is a line in one of the openings that says it was the first new century in 100 years, that Line always bugged the heck out of me because a century is 100 years.
That line in the original opening song is a reference to the fact that at the time the first season was made in 1996, the new century of 2000 was approaching, and it was something of a big deal to people back then. Now, 24 years into the new century, I want to go back to the '90's, please.

Ok, you are entertaining af, really hoping you keep watching this. As a fan of this anime i will say, this is a slowburner. All i can suggest is skipping the fillers...after the 300 episode mark cause they get boring there. And it gets like a shit ton more interesting when more and more characters are introduced, so just be patient.

Detective Conan is a great thing, I really like it. But I can also recommend Kindaichi Case Files, this anime is more “realistic”, and the crimes are mostly more complicated, and sometimes they are truly brilliant, on the level of John Dickson Carr. I especially love the theme of murder in a locked room and impossible crimes, there is a lot of that. They also appear in Detective Conan, but rarely.

Yes! Sub is way better than dub for this anime!
Aww, but I really love the snarky sass that you get from the original English dub cast, especially Shinichi's voice in Conan's head as he has to deal with the frustrations of being a near-adult in a little kid's body, AND with having to deal with Ran's obnoxious dad.
Found your video a month late, YAY for doing Conan and starting with sub already. Now I'm a complete fan so no dis to the anime itself (specially the early cases) but please stick to canon episodes, you'll get thru it faster, and get a more consistant feel for the characters since the episodic nature of the show can make filler gaps a total tonal whiplash (even if the mistery In said filler episode is good)
And I would also like to suggest you that instead of jumping right into Initial D from where you left off it would better to give all the previous seasons a revisit or simple recap should be more than enough.
After waiting 6 months for the reaction of the next couple races I'd be a little salty if he did that 😂
