Kirywanda is nice. As a business person here i would love to speak the language
This is the language that I speak I come from Rwanda
Nina Keyz, from South Africa we can hear some of the words, we don't know it seems our forefathers migrated from the great lake regions
Nina Keyza, the numbers are closely related to soouth african ones. Do you mind teaching me kinyarwanda
Do you want to learn kinyarwanda?
nanjye
Me too this is my first language
Thank you for this. I am a social worker and meeting today with a client who speaks only Kinyawanda. This is very helpful.
I will use this to impress my husband...he is from Kigali
My boyfriend is from there too.
Let me count using our Ndebele from South Africa:
1-kunye
2-kubili
3-kuthathu
4-kune
5-kuhlanu
6-sithandathu
7-sikhombisa
8-bunane
9-lithoba
10-lisumi.
We call water amanzi and they say amazi. I see likeness in our languages but our dialects do differ in most cases I believe. Interesting!!!
Koos Mtshweni Thank you, I am surprised we have common things in our language:
1. Rimwe
2. Kabiri
3. Gatatu
4. Kane
5. Gatanu
6. Gatandatu
7. Karindwi
8. Umunani
9. Icyenda
10. Icumi
What else do we have in common? There’s one verbe I think we have in common “Gupfumbata”.
Lemmi count in Kikuyu , am from Kenya
1. Îmwe
2. Igiri
3. Ithatu
4. Inya
5. Ithano
6. Ithathatu
7. Mugwanja
8. Inyanya
9. Kenda
10. Ikûmi
Not close yet not very far from the Rwandese
Im Zulu and its so weird that I could actually make out so many of those words. Im fluent in Zulu, Xhosa, Swati, Tswana, Sotho, Pedi and Tsonga. So some of the words fall in any other the other languanges of South Africa
Mzala Kay We are all Bantu people (Zulus and Rwandans). We have the same origins, so that's why the similarities are there.
I have detected that too. some words in here I can see that they have the same meaning with ours in South Africa
From Chicago. And am learning the Zulu and Xhosa languages of South Africa and see some similar sounding words. These BaNtu languages are beautiful
I'm a complete & total Afro-phile. I studied Kiswahili in college & was pretty descent at it. But I've long forgotten most of it now since I never got the chance to frequently practice it here in New York. But I recognize some of the similarities especially in their number system. Much thanks for sharing this.
haujambo
I like how the spelling is very straight forward and accurate to the sounds of the language.
I just visited the African restaurant "La boule bleue" in Brussels and I heard people speaking. I found the sound of the language very musical and fluent. No harsh sounds.. I was as soft as French. But now when I see it written, it reminds me of Japanese and Japanese on it's turn has a certain "the people of the islands" vibe because of the syllables with only one consonant and one vowel. Compared to our horrible Indo European languages it sounds very old and friendly like mother earth itself. Hope you know what I mean...
Thanks for sharing this ❤👑🌟
Its interesting, the consonant-vowel combination makes a lot of the words sound Japanese haha.
I was thinking this same thing. I heard theories East Asian languages may have connections to some African languages. You never know.
Or also sounds like it might be tonal, like East Asian languages.
fun fact: i'm rwandan and my first name is KAZE and it's actually mean wind in japanese
A lot of these words are similar to Lingala like mwana which is child in Lingala
Thank you for sharing this, Im planning to visit Rwanda the next year so its nice that I can learn something in advance : )
LOL , i love this , hugs from Rwanda!!!!
Thanks for sharing this! I have a new student from there and I can't wait to use these words on Monday with him! :)
Beautiful! 🐦

Thanks for sharing this. I’m South Korean and some of the words sound very familiar. Nothing sounds like korean though. I don’t know why. I feel like I’ve heard some...if there’s a previous life, I might be from somewhere Rwanda. Who knows...
that's exactly what I feel whenI listen korean or read japanese! it's mind blowing

Those songs were my fv before I went in United States 🇺🇸
Kikuyu and Kinyarwanda are both bantu languages, hence the similarities.
Obrigada meu nome no final
Hey. Do you have any other vedios about Kinyarwanda? Tks
Joy Liu nope just this one. Did you like it?
It’s hard to understand what the background music can you do a video and more a quieter area
This is basically Gîkûyû.
The Agîkûyû of Kenya must be closely related to the Wanyarwanda
I noticed the same...Bantu's effect I guess. we all speak dialect of Bantu language.

Sounds like Zulu and Xhosa. Languages from South Africa. All that's missing are the clicks😱😱
❤️❤️❤️
i rwanda
What about French they don't speak French anymore ?, i dont know cuz am from Burundi and French is still one of the official languange there
A lot of people still do but it's slowly losing importance in favor of Swahili and English due to Kagame's new policies.
Speaking french is useless. Unless the french are actuallt going to comunicate and help the rwandans theres no point.
Can you tell me how these songs titles mean in English?: 1. Bagupfusha Ubusa.
2. Bibaye. 3. Habona. 4. Hishamunda. 5. Iri Joro. 6. Mbikubwire. 7. Njye Ndagukunda. 8. Oya Ma. 9. Wampoye Iki. 10. Wowe Gusa. Thanks.
Those were my fv before I went in United States 🇺🇸
1. They take you for granted
2. When it happens
3. Morning or lighting
4. Cover the belly
5. Tonight
6. Telling you
7. Me I love you
8. ????
9. What did I do wrong
10. You only
I tried to translate it, hope you get it right 🤗
Ni meza
This looks like it was filmed in a Bourban coffee.
I'm just a British guy checking out the future.... #immigration
You should have tried speaking it. Haha you last you said rushing.
The word for tea sounds the same as in Arabic.
He pronounced Rwanda wrong there is no"oo" sound its pronounced Runda
No bruh it’s pronounced Ruanda and I know that cuz it’s my country
wish there was no backgroundnoise
😂muzungu umusaziwe
slower please
The video would be so much better without the background noise. It's hard to understand him.
The background noise makes it almost impossible to hear what the pronunciation is. Why would you choose to make a video like this with that much background noise I wonder?
Nice
