  • Our first pub stop on Friday evening ahead of a trip to Beamish Open Air Museum in the North East of England and wow was it amazing!
We stayed overnight at The Black Horse, Beamish and had a fantastic meal and even treated ourselves to breakfast which was also delicious. Fantastic that that they allow overnight stays in self contained campervans and motorhomes. Highly recommended.

On the Saturday morning, we went to Beamish open air museum which was also fantastic and there was a steam gala over the weekend so plenty of steam powered vehicles moving around. Brilliant!

The Black horse looked a great stop over. A great tour of Beamish too, we did it last year and didn't manage to see everything as its so large and we said we would go again as you get entry again within 12 months. Great vlog, Roxy looked very content on the tram as well as everywhere else, glad you had a great time and thanks for sharing. 👍

Thank you Tim 💕 The Black Horse was a great dog friendly place with delicious food. I haven’t been to Beamish for a few years - why? It’s amazing! I forgot how good!
I think even Roxy was glad for a little sit down on the tram after all the walking 🤣

Great video. As you know most of the stuff comes from the mining villages and towns in County Durham. Ally loves it and takes the grand children every year if only to point out that the pub on main street once stood in Bishop Auckland and was one she would frequent many years ago. I bet the 50s chips are better than the one on the high street which I think are cooked in dripping or lard. A very strange taste.

Thank you for your comments and feedback. I had forgotten what a great day out it was. I love that it is all created around County Durham villages and towns. I bet David went into the Middleton St George chip shop when he was young! Seeing all the steam vehicles was extra magical and I got quite emotive seeing the pride on the owners faces! The Black Horse stop over was epic too! 💕💕

Beamish museum look fabulous👍 I have been to the black county museum many times and that’s a cracking day out (fish and chips cooked in dripping)
This looked very similar but bigger I’m definitely going to spend a day here some time soon👍
Enjoyed the steam traction and trams too
Any way looking forward to more of your adventures 🤝👍
    Best wishes Simon 😊🤝🙏🏼

Hi Paul, there was a bit of a slope down to the car place from the car park and slightly sloping in other areas but nothing too major. We really enjoyed it - all the best, David & Rachel 👍

Paul the staff at the Black Horse could not of been more helpful if they tried. The top car parks were fairly flat and the pub appeared wheel friendly too. Well worth a visit! 💕💕

@@rachelwalker202 The closest one that we have been to is Kingsbury Water Park CCC site which is about 20 miles away but there maybe pub stop overs nearer to the Black Country Museum. Blists Hill is near Ironbridge and there are lots of campsites around because it is close to us we haven’t really been to any of them. Take care Gill

Not far away at all from Tyne Valley Motorhomes. Definitely worth a visit we really enjoyed it. Beamish had a few extra bits (1950s area with Middletons Fish and Chips) since I was last there which probably shows how long 😄. Thanks for the comment, all the best, David, Rachel & Roxy 🐾👍

    • @LeisureBit

Whilst it would be a great place to overnight, I don’t believe you can as the gates are locked some point after the museum closes from my understanding,
