  • The Leuchtturm Verlag stationery publishers in Geesthacht is swimming against the stream: It specializes in paper notebooks - in the digital era - and continues to invest in its machinery. The company is a word leader in stamp albums. In 2006 it began producing exclusive notebooks and is now expanding this part of its business. For more go to www.dw.de/made-...

No iPhone or smartphone on the market will ever top the feeling of writing or sketching in a nicely crafted notebook.

Butts I wish they had a very high end version with clairefontaine/rhodia quality paper.

I love their A5 hardcover dotted notebooks. I'm forgetful and writing things down are important to me. The numbered pages, the dots, the index, the archival labels, the smoothness of the paper and how it opens flat, I cannot stop praising their 1917s.

I just got one of these, its on its way and I have not seen it with my own eyes yet, but my expectations are that this will be one of the best notebooks I have ever owned.

With each year that passes, the more I hate using technology. Wood, paper, writing with my own hand. That is bliss.

I have two of those, one A5 and one pocket.. both hardcover. They are just perfect. High quality, perfect to touch. Never make it mass chinese production, please. Ever..

I love my Leuchtturms - give those brothers a raise they produced an awesome tool. I'm Leuchtturm for Life. Of course i'm old as dirt so that's not saying much...

To be fair I am only 28 and use this brand. The other ones you buy at stores fall to pieces in under a few weeks, especially if you are keeping them in a bag or pocket.

@@TwoPlusTwoEqualsFive32 Leuchtturm will definitely appreciate your lifetime commerce ^_^ I appreciate my notebooks more now that my cataract surgeries are both complete and i can see the dot matrix better...i'm having more fun connecting the dots.

@@treemerryweather I've been playing around between dots, lines or grid. I prefer dots or a very light grid they are just more versatile.

@@TwoPlusTwoEqualsFive32 agreed! i find lines are too bossy and formal. I mostly work on heavy blank sheets because I work in mixed media, but for writing my preference is the same as yours.

anny791 right now, this second, I have tomoe river a5, moleskine paper is the best, in the way the pen runs, the surface and when you touch it. I guess people need to compare and have a favorite.
