I got a V100S in March and just love it, the trick suspension on the S model is well worth having. It is very comfortable both on the front and back making two & half hour stints effortlessly.

Hi ER the Moto Guzzi Mandello is a superb bike and would be my pick in the 1000cc class. The quick shifter and tyre pressure monitoring are on the enhanced model which retails from around £15,000. Very good video.

How do you find the clunk from neutral to first? Gave me a bit of a shunt forward when I test rode it for my video review
I'm glad you finally got around to trying this one, it's a bike I've had my eye on since it was first shown as a concept. Had they been released then I might not have the ZZR 1400, perhaps maybe in a few years time when I'm not as comfortable on it I might resort to the Mandello or its soon to be released Stelvio sister bike.

Nice review. Lucky dog gets a nice green hedgerow ride in the country side. As a modern Triumph guy, (Rocket III, Tiger 900 GT, Thruxton 900, Thunderbird Sport 900), I have always lusted for a MG. Almost purchased an 850 Eldurado when I was 17 yo back in early 1974. Been looking for a nice MG a long time. Low horsepower always held me back. Until a few years ago when I purchased a 2008 Breve 1200 Sport. Nice bike. Great ergonomics for me. Sold it when an out of the blue offer was too good to say no. Regret it. So then I had to find another. Purchased a 2013 Griso 1200 8V. Wow what a powerful bike. Still have it. Am keeping an eye on this new platform. Planning to own something MG makes. I hope they continue to grow the line and add larger displacement bikes too.
Yes, I think they need to grow the network alot more really. They are still hiding away in the back ground

Nice review. I tested one in Paris this weekend and loved it. As you say, the mapping did take a little getting used to and is not like a boxer engine. I noticed that you were keeping it very low in the rev range overall throughout, which boxers love but I think this one works best in the 4 and 6k band, just a thought. Anyway, hoping to get one very soon!

@@exeterrider just out of curiosity, if you had only one bike, sport tourer or alike, which bike would you choose? I tried the R12 ninet but it doesn't have protection and the clutch/gears inspired me less
Id recommend to every biker trying a RT. Big lumps but the handling is top notch.
Sports tourer though,..... There aren't so many around these days, the 1250R is a lovely machine but not sure if they are still selling them, the RS is a little too sporty perhaps.
To be honest, in the sports tourer world, some of the older bikes have a lot to offer even in this day and age. Blackbird 1100, vfr.... All do alot.
Kawasaki s1000 and the Suzuki gsx are a little more sporty perhaps.
That's all I can think of.
1250R is the best one out of that lot, but the RT is amazing!

I came across a Guzzi at the lights a few days ago, a rare sight round here, very striking looking bike. But my piaggio comment didn't even get a chuckle from the rider, and I'm a little ray of sunshine so I know it must have been his fault 🙄

A great looking bike. If I had more money then sense ( hang on, that shouldn't be too difficult to achieve ! ) I could be tempted.
I do like to ride something a bit different and this would definitely be that !
I think those stupid active aero bits flapping about would really annoy me though. What a load of old nonsense they are. If they can't be deactivated in software I'd probably pull the fuse or cut the wires. Total tosh and probably one of the first things to break and cost a fortune to get fixed.

Just one more thing to break and worse still, one thing you totally don't need which is likely to break. Like I said, I'd pull the fuse or whatever to deactivate it all and just enjoy the bike as it is. I bet that engine is full of character and sexy looking that bike certainly is !
But yeah, must be hard to cover everything on a quick test ride like that, particularly when you are simultaneously trying to enjoy the bike in the moment !

Loved the v100 amazing in std trim, only negatives cruise a bit faffy to engage and blinks when not active and quick shifter is woeful

Quick shifter is available as an accessory on the base model, the uplevel S model has one as standard. A taller screen is available too. I've had my Mandello S since July and I have to say it's the most enjoyable bike I've owned.
They are lovely bikes, I just wish they would become more mainstream rather than being in the shadows.
@@exeterrider That's the way Guzzi has always been though, more of a "boutique" brand but with very loyal group of followers. I kinda appreciate the fact that I'm not likely to see another bike like mine on the road here in Canada.

It is a real shame that they didn't talk you through the settings, especially the mode button and staring the bike... but even showing you how simple it is to electronically raise and lower the screen, The "S" version is the one with electronic suspension.
Yup Moto Guzzi are very Italian, and also one of the oldest motorcycle manufacturers to have continiously manufactured motorcycles... 100 years back in 2022.
It revs quite high.... and is a LOT of fun in the higher rev ranges... a lot of the old school Moto Guzzi owners don't get that about the new bikes, the V7 likes to rev too, although not as high.
The new engine is a peach.
Good info there. It really baffles me the way they don't seem to get the bikes out there and get bums on seats TBH...its almost like they are not bothered wheather they sell or not.
The V100 could outsell many bikes but it doesn't thorough no fault of the bike itself but the company.
I have known of many MGs that have been on the ramps with gearbox issues etc going into garages and sadly thats my main experiance apart from a dealer that is not intrested in me having a go. Madness to me.

Interesting bike and performance it gives. Notice that SP motorcycles in Exeter has taken on the Dealership here for Moto Guzzi. So might have to have closer look at these if they have one on showroom floor. 🤔

It's not my model but I like Guzzies by engine layout and the shaft drive. In fact, other then the big cruiser, I don't like any of the new models but from the old ones.. I loud pay good money for old but good 'V65TT'. They even had automatic model 'Convert' with torque converter in the 70's . There is a rumor around that says they will bring back the Stelvio

Love the idea of this and owning a MG. There’s a lot of negative stuff on the electrics on these. I would love a v7 to be different but these seem to have camshaft issues. In between bikes 18 months ago I tried to get a test ride at a MG dealer. Couldnt offer one on any model. I walked
That's the issue with many guzzi dealers, sales are lost because of it. Makes no sense to me!?
Had my V7 for 11 years now with no issues, and it has been on a few trackdays and a European tour all with no dramas 🙂
If you are anywhere near Brighton, the Piaggio dealership there has a V7 and V100 I believe as demo bikes.
I was in Brighton last month and wanted to look round but that day the traffic was horrendous due to shutting down part of the seafront I think.
I really wanted to go to Brighton Moto, just no chance.
I like Guzzis but they will have to stay on the back burner inks another dealer pops up. Mine do have demos etc but not intrested in lending them out for filming etc, they also do KTMs. Have a good week 👍🍻

Bit of both really mate. They have the bikes but you pretty much have to be ready to buy before they will even consider letting them out. That's why you rarely see KTMs or MG down here. Rare sight🍻👍

As a self titled Exeter rider why are Moto Guzzi not accessible to you when you have the excellent SP motorcycles are in Exeter and I have never had a problem getting a test ride
I've asked to test ride KTMs or moto Guzzis from SP and film the rides but they aren't intrested sadly.

I would advise to wait before buying one of these since it's the first year of production, and Piaggio/Guzzi/Aprilia doesn't have the best reliability record. As with all first year productions, who want's the Bullshit and hassle of constant Gremlins, especially with a first year water cooled platform from Guzzi.
