In all fairness the mini will shine on the track, those little pocket rockets absolutely fly around the track
R56 Cooper S owner here, sport mode sharpens throttle response, decreases electric power steering assist, and adds the pops and bangs
0-60 is 6.5-6.7 standard mate 👍🏻

I remember my first 0-60 in my old 2007 r56 s, supposedly stage 1 no proof, few basic things like a sports cat, back box delete, panel filter, noise maker delete pipe, gfb dv (recirc valve). Managed a 6 second dead and was gassed. Now got an n18 stage 2 and can’t wait to see what it puts down, they’re such a laugh but maintenance is key

It’s pretty much doing it’s stock quoted figures 👍, but the pug rcz with pretty much the same motor is 260 bhp roughly so with a st 1 and the chassis set up it’ll be a little b road bomber. Going to be interesting seeing it on track and then who drives it home.🤙

Raced a few 5.0 Mustangs when my Mini was around 260bhp and gapped a fair few stock Golf Rs too aha
I had a Mini Cooper S when they first came out. Never known a car creak and rattle as much 🤦🏻♂️Tbf it went like stink though!

I really loved the first one that had a supercharger and a 1.6. The with the newer model it had a Peugeot 206 engine, now it’s BMW engine
100-200 is obviously about top end power. To cut through the wind simply requires more horses. So the fact it's a light car means nothing doing top end pulls. Just not gutsy enough.
Also it isn’t meant for straight lines, the cars performance shows either on the track or on bendy side roads, that’s where it’s going to give most cars a problem
@@seanflynn8467 definitely, it's built for the twisty stuff 👍 I mean let's be honest how often do people drive 120mph plus? I bet its bags of fun on the track. That's where the light weight side pays off.
If these are drove in Mexico down the back roads there basically untouchable ,just the way they handle and the way the front end moves into a corner ,good content as usual Jamie 🙏☮️

Mite have a tune but if the spark plugs and coil packs are old that can effect performance. Running on Asda fuel will definitely slow it down 😂 Can't beat a Mini though iconic cars ❤️

Esso she'll tesco asda texaco etc all made in the same refinery sometimes you'll even see a tecaxo or Wincanton tanker refilling a supermarket station.

Belive me its the same stuff you get at shell bp texaco etc. (I drive a tanker and work in refinery)

@@heisenberg9739 there's many refinaries around the uk we supply our local area Hampshire but it can vary as its up to 10% ethanol I only use momentum as its still e5 and better performance and economy
Great car. I got a Cooper S of the same flavour and I love it. Had it 3 years now. Its the longest Ive ever kept a car so that must say something for it. And Ive had some special cars. At least in my eyes. Lol

You have to be brutal with the take offs. High revs and dump the clutch! I used to regally go through front bushes and 2 front tyres over a 12 week summer holiday! 😆😆😆😆 And when l sold it it was FCKED 😆😆😆
But as anyone will tell u on a twisty road the thing turns savage and not much can keep up with you 😆
Would have loved to have seen the incar of the Mustang when the mini lead at the beginning. Amazing video, get it serviced Inc plugs and coils and it should be great on the track.

lol that thing definitely isn’t running right if it’s tuned at all. Something is missing. Seems like the mods are in but the tune is wrong. Way too much lag and no top end is strange. My bolt on r55S with a stage 2 tune still pulls and pulls up top. Those times seem real stock S ish to me.
Is it the same as bmw traction like on e46 era
Keep hold of the button for 10nsecomds or so to fully turn it off

100-200 on the stock one is 20.5s. How is it possible?
My guess is tuning it won't add much as it ain't turbo so only more revs will get higher psi also its jcw so tuned from factory its only a guess tho.
If only manic was still mapping! Running a stage 2 manic map on my fjcw and it runs a dream! Five years owning at N14 engine and hasn't missed a beat! Just keep an eye on that oil

N14 engine variant .. always been scared of these . i Used to own the n18 variant of these . An MSL stage 1 map and sports cats really made this car fun to drive.

My 2007 R56 is a little pocket rocket. Stage 1 remapp with all the engine mods,including GFB+Diverter Valve,NGK Spark Plugs &Coil Packs etc.Milltek Sports Exhaust,running around 245BHP!
They arnt the most aerodynamic of cars and still a good 40bhp down compared to the audi, 21s 100-200 sounds about right

If its struggling to rev at the high-end then there's a restriction somewhere. Try it without the air-filter element. If there's no improvement check for a blockage in the pipework - my friend found a pan scrubber had been sucked into the inlet (yes, really!). My other mate found out on the rolling road why he was losing power - as the revs increased you could see the silicone tube collapsing and restricting the airflow - he changed it for a solid pipe and never looked back. It could also be a blocked fuel filter or failing coil packs or plugs.
It’s only a small turbo and it and it can’t flow enough air when it gets to 6500rpm most stock map diesels and petrols are the same the boost will die off before the car reaches its peak rpm I know what Jamie is on about having driven a few of them they pull really well but the turbo runs out about 700rpm before it’s Rev limiter Once there tuned they do better but still drop off a couple hundred rpm before the Rev limiter

Hiya Jamie, If you know the history of this R56, has it had a walnut blast? What is the mileage ect. The exhaust valves get immensley gummed up on these, particularly if they are not maintained or driven around like miss daisy. This severely restricts their perfomance. We do them every now and then (Mini Specialist) and it totally changes the engine performance of the car! If it feels a little bogged down, it may well be suffering from it. If you need any other advice or would like it done don't hesitate to ask (We are based in Essex)

6500RPM is max, power drops at around 6100RPM

These don't gain much from a stage 1, I think from memory between 10 and 15hp.
Generally 30 to 35hp
Stage one your car should be around 240 to 250 depending on the itself and if it's healthy
Dump money into it, see how far you can push it lol
