Invasive jubata grass (Cortaderia jubata) is a species of pampas grass form South America, and it is threatening important native plant communities and rare species habitats at Point Reyes National Seashore.

I’ve just chopped down an enormous stand of this stuff in my own garden but those roots are seriously stubborn: a woody, tightly woven circular mat. Any tips on getting it out appreciated!!

Pampas grass should've been left alone on the pampas where it comes from, and not planted in other places in the world because this happens.

I would spray diesel fuel all around that plant. Ya you will have a dead spot for a couple years but nothing is surviving.
