I'm so glad that you didn't paint over the wood! Painting over things is such a trend nowadays, but I love the look of natural wood, especially in the sunroom with the greenery, it has such a bright, fresh look to it!

You have added a second living room to your house. It looks so welcoming and cheery. Not so sure Josh would say it wasn't much work.... having to be around all that dust, working with the epoxy, and then power washing the rug, he really made this happen. Your great taste and the new furniture and work on the plants and finishing touches made his hard work worth it though. Hope you all enjoy this room for years to come. We don't have kids at home anymore, but we do have a dog and we aren't ashamed to cover our sofa in blankets to protect it. Some people even put fitted plastic covers over. Probably not necessary if they are washable. Enjoy!!!
Love the new sofa - spray it with fabric protector so you can prevent stains and wipe away any marks. My only concern with taking the doors off is the cold air that would enter the house from the sun-porch as it isn't so well insulated or heated.
I am always for blinds or curtains, even if you never close them , I think it warms up a space and makes it homey, although in the summer heat, closing them could make it cooler

We call them conservatory in the UK. They get too hot in the summer so I hang a sail in the roof to block the sun a bit

I'm still catching up on videos, but wanted to say that I love the natural look of the raw wood, brick and concrete! It juxtaposes so well with the soft materials of your furnishings! We just bought a house this winter with a sunroom and I'm getting so much inspiration for how to make it an extension of our living space
My dad would use a rooting harmone to get plants started. They should have it at the greenhouse or places like lowes or home depot. I use it also
Fertilome rooting powder is great!

My motto is decorate your home to your own personal tastes. Your personal tastes will always stay with you. Trends come and go every 10 years. When you go with the trends it becomes expensive in the long run.

Before we moved I had a sunporch. It went thru many changes thru the 42 years we lived there. Playroom for the kids, office, craft room, bedroom, exercise room, sitting room, and back to a craft room just before we moved.
I looked up the Cane Begonia (because it's stunning) and there are apparently lots of cane begonias....this particular one looks like an "angel wing" begonia 😀 The wood and the brick are beautiful, I just love what you did with this room. And the carpet!!! Wow, what a difference!
My favorite days are working alongside my husband. Were good at learning as we go and like i tell my kids, we learn by making mistakes. I love the idea to powerwash indoor outdoor rugs. We dont have any but i love that option for the future.
Perfect! You didn't need to paint. Porch gives a natural vibe. When winter is dark at dreary, what a beautiful space to enjoy the sun and nature out the windows.

We have a sunroom that is a 2 season. Too hot in summer, too cold in winter. It’s aluminum that was here when we bought the house 30 years ago. It’s something I would update if we could. Love yours and would spend so much time out there.

Your 4th baby? Aaaah, time flies! I would love to have a big family, but I had placenta previa with both pregnancies and needed 2 c-sections. 😬 My oldest is 4 and my youngest just turned 1. These are truly the best days!
I LOVE this room and so happy that you kept all the natural wood. This is such a wonderful space for your family especially during the cold winter months where you can have so much light and green plants! I didn't see any lighting so wonder if you ever use the space at night. Perhaps put up some of those outdoor type lights for ambience at night. I think the cement floors give the room so much character but hopefully it's not slick with wet feet in the summer. I like the idea of taking off the doors too. You always have such wonderful ideas and kudos to Josh for doing so much work. You guys are a great team!! The furniture is very nice! God bless you all and next comes baby!!

This is so great! We also have a beautiful wooden sunroom and it's been the hardest room for me to envision a style for in our home. It's so beautiful, and we use it so much, i want to do it justice! Looking online most people take sunrooms and put up a huge tv which is definitely not us, or the decor is just so different because it's not the cedar wood grain like we have. I think in the future we'll do rocking chairs like we have now but more in the color sense you have here, and that couch is amazing. Thank you for sharing!
I love love love your patio sun room! I wish I had one, well dond for the renovation! I would suggest though that you buy covers for your couch and armchairs for every day use and take them off on special ocasions, just to avoid the stress when the kids are on them and keep their fine looks for longer.

Absolutely gorgeous sun porch!!! We have one that is not as big as yours, but we absolutely love it… it was on the front of the house when we moved in 30 years ago… nothing in our home is the same as it was when we moved into it. My husband was in the building business when we got the house. When our kids were small we were not in this home… the lady whom it belonged to died and it sat vacant for a whole year before we got it, so our sons were out on their own by that time. My husband went to work changing things to make it our home! Now we sit on the sun porch every morning until almost noon…it’s filled with lots of flowers too!! At lot of time we have a friend who stops by quite often just to enjoy sitting there with us!!! So Megan and Josh enjoy your new extension of your beautiful home!! (We are almost 74 years old, our sons are 50 and 52..)

The sunroom turned out lovely. Josh is such a good man and always compliments you in what your wishes are for a project and always has excellent input. What a blessing! I know you will find endless enjoyment in that room........I would love one but have a huge deck but only wished it was enclosed........just not practical for our PNW rainy weather and chill.

Glad you kept the wood detail, my husband & I purchased a 1897 folk victorian home a few years ago & for some reason a previous owner painted over some of the original wood work & it looks terrible & so hard to remove. Love original wood work, you don't see it enough these days.

This is my favorite video of yours! I can only watch you when my babies are sleeping and have to read the captions. This was so nice to just watch without words. Gardening is so therapeutic for me. I feel closer to God in nature. I also love refreshing my plants and creating new, from clippings. My indoor plants do better in winter bc i forget to water them. Those succulent type plants seem to only need like an ice cube's worth of water once a week or so. Sunrooms are a little slice of paradise during our Lancaster county winters. Watching yours transform was so refreshing, living through yours until I have my own one day. I have Amish friends and how you decorate so simply and intentionally reminds me of their homes. This is also how they live. Very simple and joyfully. I learn so much from them. My favorite part of the video was watching Josh relax in the recliner and then you sitting there taking a moment with your baby. So special, I filled up with tears. May God continue to bless you and your family, as you continue to bless us with sharing your life and love with us ❤

Just wanted to say we had white fans just like those on our sunporch and I literally took them down then took a can of matte black rustloeum and sprayed the entire fan and put the white globes back on and they look like a Restoration Hardware dupe- NO LIE. anyhow just an idea. I love how you left the little hummingbird pull( I would do the same😉) 💓 Your sunroom turned out BEAUTIFULLY- I ABSOULTLEY LOVE the pine walls- they're Pintrest worthy!!!

You are so lucky having snow, although top of uk and Scotland have snow it always seams to miss us in the south east 😢, so nice to watch the children play in it.

I love the changes!! Why don’t you find narrow ceramic etc. Trays for your window sills…to put plant on them without ruining the wood? Possible mold is not good for you all😃
That begonia is so nice, i have one, bought as a baby and grew really big! It becomes a hanging plant ♡ bought mine for about $3
Always remember when potting plants in put with drain holes, use one or more coffee filters! The type that looks like a fluted bowls. The plants drain only plain water out!! I use them for all my draining plants! Also fill 2/3 of the bottoms of the deeper or larger pots with packing peanuts or big chunks of strofoam then use fresh potting soil on top! They'll be lighter to move around, and have great drainage! Love, love, love your family and channel too!!

If the sunporch is a bit colder than the rest of the house and you want to insulate slightly without putting the doors back on you could add a pretty thick curtain and just have it drawn back most of the time? It would have quite a luxurious feel

I love that makeover! What a beautiful room. Josh did an amazing job with the floors! And you decorated everything so beautifully. You are so fortunate to live in such a beautiful home and area. My husband takes me to Lancaster periodically on a long weekend getaway and to see shows at Sight and Sound theater and we absolutely love that area. We live in Connecticut so it's a bit of a drive but when we get there we feel at peace driving through the farms. We love the people in those communities. Everybody is so friendly and kind! We love that so many stores exhibit Christian literature and decorations. Sadly, that's not something you see in my area too much unless you go to a specialty store specifically for religious items. We always said that if our families weren't rooted in Connecticut we would move to Lancaster. Anyways, Love your CZcams channel and it's content. Although I am an older gal, who could probably be your mom, I do enjoy your content because it brings back memories of when I was raising my children. My best to you and your family. One thing I do when power washing rugs is use the shop vac to speed up the drying process
I love what you and Josh have done with your sunroom! Bright and cheerful. Love it! I probably would have kept the doors. When the kids are junior high and high schoolers you may appreciate those doors to cut the noise when they have company and may want to go in the sunroom……plus the glass doors you and Josh can keep an eye on them. 😉

Looks so good! We pressure washed our rugs when we moved in November! It refreshed 3 of them! Enjoy the room, it’s soo nice. Love the concrete floor against the wood and white and all the green too 😍
