    How did you differentiate between adeno and EBV at around the 14 minute mark? Based on patient age alone? No evidence of monospot? Just curious. Thank you

    • @DoctorRempel
      @DoctorRempel  Před 5 lety +4

      Pay attention to buzz words. For adeno think: children, day cares, army soldiers, conjunctivitis, pneumonia, blood in urine, and virus characteristics (non enveloped, double stranded DNA). For EBV: age usually teenage years for mono(due to transmission by kissing), but also remember older asian men with nose or throat cancer. Other keywords for EBV: atypical lymphocytes/owl eye nuclei, lymphomas, hepatosplenomegaly(avoid contact sports due to this), posterior cervical lymph node enlargement, maculopapular rash, extreme fatigue!
      I hope this helps in some way! Good luck with step 1!
