You are a genius. Forget anything about the picture frame, your skills and ideas for using a table saw are off the chart. I learned more about using a table saw than making a picture frame.
Same. I just got a table saw and was looking for something to simple to build. Came here to learn about making a frame - mind blown at what all the table saw can do!
OMG...this video blew my mind as well. Everything everyone said on this thread here is exactly what I was thinking after seeing this video. Pure Genius!!!
I never thought I'd have much of an interest in woodworking, and to be honest I may never woodwork in my lifetime, but I love watching these videos purely for the innovative techniques involved.
Just when I think, "Great, another dull picture frame video," you really find a way to make it interesting. Cutting that entire profile on the table saw was impressive! Not to mention that wood-saving tip of pre-cutting that miter. You, sir, are my favorite woodworker.
I adore this video. So much to learn from just watching a conscientious and experienced person work. I come back to it a few times a year and it always puts a smile on my face.
I am very impressed with what you can do with a regular table saw. I watched a different video earlier today... and the person had all these amazing tools that I will not be able to afford for years. Thank you so much for all the great ideas.
Eric Derby eric i am a professional cabinet maker and i don't have all the tools the youtube amateurs have lol. often its just as quick to use what you have. most of the basic tools we have can do so much more if you are creative. plus to be honest as a one man shop (i like it this way) its not financially feasible to have that much money sitting on shelves for occasional use.
Why do I love watching Matthias's videos? Min 5:05-5:13 illustrates well. Mistakes are often better teachers than the successes. Matthias perfectly blends showing errors & successes. "It is a mistake to do things too easily." ~ H.G Wells
I'd never have thought of using the curvature of the table saw to make a round moulding. Superb idea, as was your mitre jig. Cheers for those ideas, love your work.
What a splendid craftsman, fine engineer, and inventive woodworker. I'm inspired, and in this little 7 - something minute video, I learned a lot. Thank you for sharing your great talent with us, Matthias.
Excellent lesson on using a table saw. I've been trying to figure out how to make an apron for the base of a grandfather clock without having to buy a bunch of expensive tools and you solved it for me. The table saw is a symbol of independence.
I stumbled upon this when looking for "how to make a picture frame" and found myself amazed at all the tricks you have under your sleeve. This video leaves me wondering why I would need to watch anyone else. Superb!
Probably one of your best videos today Matthias. I don't think I will ever buy another custom picture frame in my life after watching this. I tried out your cove cutting method and was impressive with how much control over the size of the cut you have by changing the angle of approach. also rounding over the teeth helps but truth be told its nothing you cant sand out if you just leave the blade stock.
Matthias, you are so incredibly gifted. Everyone can see it -- hence your many subscribers. Just watching you work is simultaneously entertaining and educational.
You have some amazing talent. This was 2 years ago and still one of the more quality videos of making a picture frame. I agree that I learned more in the last 3 minutes about using a table saw then any other time spent researching. I will be looking at your channel for all your table saw sleds....I hope you have a How to on all of them :)
I thought I'd seen all off Matthias' videos but somehow I've missed this important one. My daughter got a large poster for Christmas that she's going to want to keep for years, so it needs a frame. A professional one would be ridiculously expensive. Now I've got enough information to figure out how to make something great. Thanks Matthias!
Great job on that frame, Matthias. I am just starting out as a woodworker, and emulate all that you do. Keep up the tips and tricks you employ while creating projects, as some of us utilize every little thing.
THANKS! My woodworking idol. This was a great job. I was looking at how to make just a few small picture frames for postcards and this was very inspirational.
It's a long way around to get where you want to be, but I so admire your ingenuity. I really do look at this video as more of a helper to rethink ways of doing things.
I think even turning your table saw on would be beyond me! It’s incredible to think you did all that straight out of your head, no plans drawn or anything. I admit I was a bit doubtful when you started painting, but with the image and your decor it looked perfect.
Your level of craftsmanship and sheer ingenuity is on a level that I feel no one else could touch. Molded picture frame on a table saw? Get out of here with your cleverness.
Love your videos - I laughed out loud when you cracked the glass because I've been there - my reaction was about the same too. Thanks for making these videos!
Extremely creative use of the table saw. For you doubters, go ahead and buy a solid wooden frame of decent quality then compare the cost of building your own, not to mention the joy of accomplishment! - Great work Matt!
Your too young to have all this talent and knowledge. Man am I jealous. Nice job explaining everything. Your way of explaining things also shows there can be other ideas.
I love this guy. One tool can do all jobs. But he has a table saw at least. I believe I only need a table saw to follow him making frames for my paintings. Haha.
You are a genius. Forget anything about the picture frame, your skills and ideas for using a table saw are off the chart. I learned more about using a table saw than making a picture frame.

No kidding man! I started watching for the picture frame thinking router all the way, now I have new uses for my table saw..
Totally. I had no idea my saw could do so much.
I was planning on building a router table. Now I've changed my mind and want a table saw. This was masterful!

I love the molding. I love the paint job. I love watching you work.

Sir you are a genius, love how you improvise from anything and just make it work perfectly
I am a professional cabinetmaker, and your creative use of the circular saw impresses me.
I love watching peoples different techniques for making molding, and of course picture frames are always fun, thumbs up!
It's nice to know you do curse when you do make "mistakes". Sometimes I forget you're human when I watch you work. Great job on this one! :)

She was not my mom
Hearing you yell "shit!" is way funnier than it should be.
One of the best diy videos on CZcams. Quick and succinct delivery that shows how to get it done. Great finished product!
Lots of interesting tricks in this video, mitre sled, the clamping blocks, getting those shaper profiles in with just a table saw. All good demos.
I adore this video. So much to learn from just watching a conscientious and experienced person work. I come back to it a few times a year and it always puts a smile on my face.

For a beginner like me this was explained incredibly clear and simply. Thanks a million, you are great!
Excellent lesson on using a table saw. I've been trying to figure out how to make an apron for the base of a grandfather clock without having to buy a bunch of expensive tools and you solved it for me. The table saw is a symbol of independence.
doesn't matter what tools you use what matter is your final product. looking absolutely fabulous. good job.

Dude, there are only a few folks that come up with orginial thoughts you are one. enjoyed it .
I am really impressed by the amount of different angles you got from the table saw.
Very nice job! Really like your videos. Short, to the point, no extra junk to clutter the mind. Very professional and highly creative. Thanks

Looks like a viewing portal into another world. Beautiful work on that frame, Matthias!
Another one of your projects that is simply Brilliant! I love watching them. I learn something new all the time. Thanks, Matthias.
Again Matthias shows us how important it is to have a good tablesaw and to know how to use it well, and then a good deal of practise.
Matthias, you are so incredibly gifted. Everyone can see it -- hence your many subscribers. Just watching you work is simultaneously entertaining and educational.
i really do like these minimal tool builds, not only I appreciate that I can try it for myself but really shows how innovative you are
His child-like enthusiasm gets me every time. And not to mention his impeccable professionalism, of course.
OUTSTANDING. Lots of great tricks and ideas. Thank you.
The result is great, and the technique is even more impressive! Thank you!.
Something about the way he calmly, almost jokingly said "shit" when he broke the glass really made me happy. best role model ever
Awesome. Just pure awesome. You do many things that I do not expect Matthias, and I think your a genius.
the back bevel to cut of corner shims was neat. Keep up the excellent videos.

When you say 'I have a few tricks up my sleeve', I'm led to believe you have big sleeves. Your tricks are quite genius. Very clever work.
That is the best picture frame I have ever seen. It's sturdier than my desk, and the picture hangs perfectly on the wall. Well done!

Awesome technique. Love the all purpose-ness of the TS! And great home made clamp jigs.
