- on the 13th november, my lovely dad took his own life. it’s been so hard to really put into words how devastating that truly is. i had this show coming up. my biggest show ever. 5,000 people all for me, but it felt so horrible knowing he wasn’t gonna see it. I felt this song would be the perfect tribute. There is a lot of emotion, so it’s not a perfect vocal, but i wouldn’t change it for the world. Be safe and talk to each other about you feel. It really goes a long way. Sending love and thank you for all the support in this difficult time.

The first words I heard you sing were, "Tell me why, they say that grown men can't cry" and now here I am a couple hours later crying thinking about my little one growing up and how much bigger life is than just right here, right now.. I haven't cried like this in years.. Thank you so much.

Was an honour to be in that room. As soon as the song started I was in floods of tears. The song has such a special meaning to me and helped me through a very dark time. You were so so so strong Sam, 💖💖

Whoever wasn't touched by this young man's voice needs a new heart...this was absolutely heartbreaking ly beautiful...I'm sure your father is watching over you..I'm positive he 100% is beaming with proud for his son..don't ever stop writing..when your in the deepest darkest pain out comes the most purest sound you have..an oddly enough the most incredible song writers are in turmoil... as fans we get to hear the rawness of your .music..no matter how private the struggles are/was...we benefit..just think of how many lives he's saving because he wrote this song..
If you or someone you know is harming themselves, or acting suicidal please don't ever hesitate to get help for yourself or for your friend..taking your own life isn't the answer..you'll have bad days along with the good.. you will hurt so many ppl..

It was an absolute honour and privilege to be in that room, you could hear a pin drop, I felt everyone was just in awe, raw and vulnerable and yet amazingly you were so strong! you did it Sam, it was amazing thank you. I can't even describe how crippling those "thoughts" are when you have them and how impossible it is to explain them. When I was a teenager, I used to ignorantly call people cowards and selfish who followed through on those thoughts it and now years on struggling with those thoughts myself every day and knowing how exhausting just living can be I feel really ashamed for saying stuff like that. As a dad of two kids, I actually wrote a letter for them just a couple of weeks ago, you know, just in case. Thanks again, seriously.
