- This is one NEW handheld combo meter launched by SATLINK, with model name of ST-5150. It is a DVB-S/S2/T/T2/C and MPEG-2/4, H.264/MPEG4 AVC, H.265/HEVC compliant combo meter. Compact size, light weight, good user interface, long battery operational hours and rich feature test. It provides all functions that are needed for installation and verification of digital satellite TV service, attena signal and cable signal to residential homes or multi-dwelling units. Sure, it is with 4.3inch HD TFT LCD screen. If compared with higher-ended SATLINK WS-6980 combo meter, it is rather economic, worth to be taken into consideration, for corresponding engineering use.

I've just bought the st 5150 in greece and it currently works well on terrestrial.
The device has v 2.6 firmware and I want to upgrade it. Ive found a uk based satlink offering updates but there different model numbers. Ive seen the method you use to update and its not a problem. Can you send me a link? Or post where to find the database?

Hi Jimmydinos. Got your message. Actually, if a meter works fine, then it is not suggested that firmware update be processed. Just keep it for your use. In most cases, it will be only small update/ upgrade, while firmware update could cause extra risks on use. That is my opinion, in the responsible attitude.
By the way, it is not suggested that users find firmware from some websites, since it is possible that such firmwares are not so compatible (sometimes it happens, since hardware design may be changed by SATLINK, though not frequently). In brief, just keep the current version if it works fine.
Unfortunately a different use than the 6908 SE.
With the 6908SE I was able to scan different satellites separately for LNB, and later simply set the LNB situation on site.
Now it happens if, for example, I scan the British satellite, I do not have access to the previously scanned Central European satellite.
When I access a Central European channel after scanning the British satellite, the "TS" data changes.
This will destroy the tv-station data. That should not happen.
In addition, with the 6908SE, i was only able to specifically scan free TV.
Does this have spectrum analyser?
Does it display signal strength in dbuv?
Does it display BER and MER?
Hi Gavin. This is an economic model, which doesn't have spectrum analyser.
Instead, some higher-ended version of satfinder device, such as WS-6979, and WS-6980, they have corresponding performance.

I guess that the resolution demand is higher than what meter supports. Therefore, no video can be seen in your current use. It could be cause. Sure, you can check it.

Yes, device is currently the newest version that was released, as we can see, firmware is version of April.
Sure, there exists one point of error in this short video, since ST-5150 device doesn't take car charger included inside, while AC/DC power adapter is included, naturally.
As to device itself, users can view images on device itself, yes. Sure, the main function of device is still for tv satellite dish installation, etc.

Naturally WS-6980 is a much higher-ended version while ST-5150 device is designed for more economically use.
It depends on your budget, to be objective.

ST-5150 doesn't support 10 bits, while ST-5155 supports 10 bits. As to DCSS, I will talk with engineers, seeing whether they can offer professional answer about it.

@@orangeduc3129 You are welcome. Actually, it is just a name under the name list, with limited options available, and it has no real impact towards the device's inner settings. Instead, the key lays on the exact firmware version that will perhaps be installed when out of factory, and typically there exist versions for different regions, incl. American region, EU/ME/AF region, Asia-Pacific region, or perhaps Atlantic region. Sure, normally users will be able to add/delete/edit the satellite list at selves' use, depending on demand of selves. This extra info is shared with you, too.

Does it support biss keys?
As far as I know, this meter only supports FTA.
Yet, some satellite tv receivers (instead of meter), for receiving and watching tv signals (instead of for adjusting angles or locations of antenna installation), support Biss Keys, such as
GTMEDIA V8X model, etc.

It is a meter mainly for installation or adjusting angle of antenna for tv installation, which can receive FTA. Sure, regardign some encrypted channels, it cannot support it.

Dear friend. Temporarily now shipment to Qatar is not supported, largely due to impact of COVID-19, to be blunt.
Yet, in responsible attitude, let me share with you some information, as follows.
a) Before March, there exist some postal shipping options that can well support shipments to Qatar, including Post NL (Netherlands Post), and also Singapore Post. However, these two good postal shipping options are tempoarily suspended now. Sure, China Post cannot support shipments of cargo containing battery inside, therefore, it is not taken into consideration.
b) According to information given by staff of local agencies of commercial express companies, including DHL and also Aramex, it is Customs policy of Qatar that doesn't allow imports of cargoes containing battery inside via commercial express shipping ways. Therefore, these commercial expresses can also not support shipments of this ST-5150 satfinder device, since it contains battery. Instead, if no battery were contained, which is unrealistic, then shipment could have been arranged via commercial express shipping ways, such as DHL or Aramex.
c) We do know some customers on involved satfinder devices of our company's who are from Qatar. Yet, they chose Aramex agency in Springfield, NY, United States, as their delivery address (these customers are registered user of Aramex agency in United States): of course, we arrange shipments to their delivery location in United States. And we guess that it will be the Aramex express which will forward the cargo to them in Qatar through some way. Perhaps some special channels of shipment exists from United States to Qatar.

Regarding the shipment, relevant information is as follows.
a) Currently, there exists no available shipping way (either postal shipping way, or commercial express shipping way) to Qatar, due to the fact of COVID-19 together with Customs policy of Qatar which cannot allow direct shipment of cargo containing battery inside to Qatar via commercial express.
Therefore, we cannot arrange shipment directly to you in Qatar.
b) Instead, my dear friend, if you can have Aramex agency (in United States) or (in United Kingdom) or other forwarding agency in US/UK as your recipient, then it will be convenient for us to arrange shipment to US/ UK. And transit efficiency will be very good.
In fact, our company has a lot of customers from Qatar who purchased devices from our company and left Aramex (United States) as their delivery address. It is well supported if destination is US or UK.
Then, I think that the Aramex company can forward the cargo to recipients in Qatar, through some special channels. I guess.
