    • @GeekStreet

      Best to have a test and check if things are in the way it would reduce the range. If for example you were going to install in a 2 storey house in the middle of the house the ground floor would be fine.

    I'm looking for a WiFi solution for a large property this looks like it should work quite nicely. A note about PoE. This device comes with a PoE injector (the little block with 2 RJ45 ports and a port for the power supply) If you have an Ethernet switch with PoE ports (such as TP-Link TL-SF1005P V2 | 5 Port Fast Ethernet PoE Switch | 4 PoE+ Ports @67W | Desktop | Plug & Play | Sturdy Metal w/ Shie...
    TP-Link TL-SF1005P V2 $39) you can simply plug into that and do away with the little PoE injector. (Make sure you LAN cable has all 8 wires terminated in the connector, some network cables do not have all 8 wires in place)

    I think you forgot an important step - like actually showing a connection to a real home rather than a kitchen table set up. For example, did you mount the antenna on your living room wall? If not, I'm guessing some wiring from your router and AC was necessary to make an outdoor connection workable. It's not quite as simple as you show.

    Hello,
    I installed my Wavlink AC 1200 a month ago. Initially, it was placed in my hallway, but it consistently lost signal after about an hour of use, even after multiple resets. I have since moved it outside, but the issue persists.
    Despite the signal loss, the LED indicators on the Wavlink light up properly, showing that the repeater is on and the Wi-Fi is connected. However, the network Wi-Fi does not appear when I search for it. I'm unsure if this issue is due to the Ethernet cable being very long or because it passes through two RJ45 sockets. Can you please help me?

    Nice Review. Coincidentally I am also want to extend my WiFi signal from my house to workshop which is 50 meters far away. Then I read this WAVLINK WN570HA1 can solve this problem and act as WiFi Range extender. I confuse about it coverage area. In specs on their official website says can coverage area up to 2 km.
    And in your review says 500 meters.
    But, I watch another youtuber's review, and from what he showed and test the maximum of the coverage are is 600 feet, which equals to 182,8 meters. He done it outside on grassland without barrier.
    Have you ever done measurement test of the real maxsimum coverage area?

    Since you set this up indoors, did you test your connection with your phone outside? We want to extend our wifi range to about 500 feet but want to install the Wavlink inside. We have a couple of cameras that we really need stronger signals to which are just under 500 feet.
    What is the main difference in choice of setup (repeater vs. lan)? A bit confusing.

    • @matthewstevens7486
      @matthewstevens7486 Před 2 lety +1

      The lan option allows you to wire to the antenna which can then go further from your house and then broadcast a signal from greater distances from the house.
      The repeater mode means it takes your existing Wi-Fi signal and then repeats it , slightly less distance it can cover as it needs to be within the existing Wi-Fi signal, your best option if possible is to run a lan cable to it as this gets a better distance. I’m currently getting 300m range in open air from my phone to the aerial.

    How maximally far it could be from the router, to extend its signal, i.e. to work effectively in repeater mode? Does the signal goes through concrete walls, because there are buyers, especially on AliExpress, who claim it isn't effective at all, and that signal is weak or the connection is slow even behind a single wall. In your opinion is it better and with stonger signal than an extender like D-Link DAP 1325 for example or is it the same? Thanks in advance for the answer!

    • @AngusNB
      @AngusNB Před 6 lety

      ~500 feet is near the limit of these but may work. If the remote location is inside a building that is going to interfere.
      It would be possible using two devices. Using one as a router or Access Point connected to your current router and the other set up as an Access Point or in WISP mode at the remote location. You would need AC power in the remote location.

      I wanted to say that I detect the network and I know the password but I do not have physical access to the modem, so I could do everything via wifi, right? I have another question, the 2 antennas of the AP transmit and receive at the same time or 1 transmit while the other receives? I ask you this to understand (eventually) which of the 2 replace with a directional antenna. Many thanks!

      @@Demymaker Question 1 yes you can do that. Question 2 thats how I setup it up , antenna 1 is for 2.4G and antenna 2 is for 5G. Hope that helps.

      Many thanks, I find discordant comments on this device, some people say "fantastic" others "it's terrible", in all honesty, would you recommend it? My use is in repeater mode .. Thanks for your patience

    Does this device work seamlessly with SSID swapping, in Repeater/AP or any other mode. What I mean by this, say you go from one area to another will the device (phone/laptop/tablet) go for the strongest source, or unlike a MESH network do you have to physically switch from one SSID to the other.
    Thanks

      Thanks for the comment. That really depends on the device your using to connect if that will switch to the stronger WiFi signal.

    Hi, and thanks for this video.
    I've got my Extender all set up and I now want to change the SSID name. but when i try to login to the router on 192.168.10.1 I'm getting a security error. I think google is blocking it and I've gone into my settings and it won't allow me to unblock or "Allow" the connection. Do I need to re-set and start again?

      As far as I'm aware, there is no option to bridge these devices together.

    *I have three or four SSID's on my network (a main one and a couple of guest networks)... Using this as a wifi range extender, will this be able to relay all of my networks' wireless SSID's, or will it only handle one?*

    • @GeekStreet
      @GeekStreet  Před 5 lety

      It will have its own SSID not relay an existing.

      I went ahead a bought one of these, and so I know from first hand experience - you are wrong... *IT DOES RELAY EXISTING WIFI*
      I set mine up, and named the two available SSID's with the same name as my wifi router's, and gave them both exactly the same ssid and PSK as my router's wifi, and now my roaming devices (laptops, phones, tablets etc) all just automatically and seamlessly connect to whichever wifi signal is strongest (my router, or this extender) depending on where I am on my property... Essentially, my existing wifi has been hugely extended by this device relaying my wifi connections.
      *Greek Street, you should give up offering tech advice, this stuff is very clearly beyond your understanding - sorry dude, no offence, but that's just the cold hard truth of the matter.*

    500m range in point to point(using 2 devices) on 500m only with 1 single device unit ?

      So they say 500M from the centre so 250M in each direction but bear in mind anything getting in the way will reduce the range. Especially brick walls.

      Gary Barker tricky one as you want to experiment with it. On the location initially.
