  • Join us in the Dordogne! I am staying in a beautiful ancient stone house in the stunning Perigord Nord, having the most relaxing time imaginable. But the local area is too temptingly lovely not to venture out on some visits. Philip and I visit the world-famous market at Sarlat to buy delicious French delicacies, before stopping at a glorious antique shop and choosing some beautiful pieces for Lalande...

I think we can be sure that Steph and Phillip brought the Dyson with them, because their hair looks more fabulous than mine ever has on holiday. Also, Phillip and Stephanie are now my dream travel companions. Browsing the food market, taking in the historical sights and screeching to a halt in front of an antiques store is right up my alley.

When you are reassembling the chandelier back at Lalonde, place soft cushions, blankets or piece of foam under the assembly area, so if any of the pieces fall, they won't break on a hard surface. Gorgeous chandelier!

Oh there's more old buildings in America than you probably realize. Definitely NOT as many as in Britisn/France and other countries nor of the size usually. I never noticed until I started doing some biblical and historical research. Take a look around the next time you go to town. Usually its court houses or government buildings snx they usually have Roman features. Many in America have been torn down or lost in the Great fires (Baltimire, MD, CHICAGO, IL, San Francisco, CA, etc (and most Catholic and other churches are 100-200 years old but were destroyed in fires and rebuilt. As we do not have many specialty builders, they do not rebuild in that style or they rebuild over the initial structure. You can tell by the windows at basement level rdbuilt with a different brick of concrete. You have to look close. I have hundreds of photos of these old buildings. Sorry to go on..just very passionate about historical architecture. 🙂

Charred marshmallows is the way to go with S’mores. Love the 🦌 deer footage, Philip! So...darling! Such a beautiful get away. Maxwell’s Plum, New York City, 1970...after theatre artichokes with hollandaise sauce and wine. What else can one ask for..food,love, life and laughter. This video reminded me of the good old days! Enjoyed this so much!

Beautiful vlog. Such a lovely town, amazing food, perfect weather and Philip is just such a good and lovely friend. The cottage you were staying in looks really cozy and the perfect place to relax. Being away from all the rebuilds and renovations at home, which get loud and dusty, was a perfect idea. Doing what makes fun and don't think about what stresses you is very good for your health. Resting is important, but also having walks and being outside, especially in nature. ❤️❤️❤️ Some people don't understand that resting is not just laying in bed.

Murano chandelier for only 500 Euros... steal of the century. I would loved to have seen the price for the mirror on the wall behind the chandelier. Would it be so wrong to thinking of a fine venison cut whilst watching the deer? :) Good health to all Lalander's.

Reminds me of when my parents brought all different sorts of sweets to my kids from a trip they were on. My son ate all his candy saving the wrappers to show his friend. 🤣😂🤣 Heaven forbid he might share his treats with his friend. Hope you’re getting lots of rest and are feeling better. Hilarious burning marshmallows, some people just like them that way. 🥰🙋🏼

My daughter just had a baby and, as a 70 year old grandmother, I’ve been a bit busy as a result. I was SO shocked to see Stephanie in hospital it took my breath away... something about her heart? If she considered the details private I would not pursue inquiry but evidently the details are out there. Please someone fill me in. Stephanie had grown dear to me for SO MANY reasons. Thank you 🙏
