- Join us in the Dordogne! I am staying in a beautiful ancient stone house in the stunning Perigord Nord, having the most relaxing time imaginable. But the local area is too temptingly lovely not to venture out on some visits. Philip and I visit the world-famous market at Sarlat to buy delicious French delicacies, before stopping at a glorious antique shop and choosing some beautiful pieces for Lalande...

In hindsight; I can see their love. So beautiful. At the time I hadn’t a clue of their deep love for each other. Nothing more heartwarming ❤
Phillip is the brother every girl wants. He is such a dear caring person. Stephanie is fortunate to have him at her side & well he is fortunate to have Stephanie as a dear caring friend as well. Bless them both.❤️
Philip deer
@@maisondecouture 😆
OK, I am wondering.....is Phillip just a friend? Has anyone noticed that they are wearing matching rings and both on their wedding ring finger? He is younger than her. I just have wondered if they are actually more than friends? Am I the only one wondering?
@@maisondecouture hahaha
@@chrispeterson3647 Absolutely they are platonic friends. Listen again to what Steph says about platonic friendship, please.
I think we can be sure that Steph and Phillip brought the Dyson with them, because their hair looks more fabulous than mine ever has on holiday. Also, Phillip and Stephanie are now my dream travel companions. Browsing the food market, taking in the historical sights and screeching to a halt in front of an antiques store is right up my alley.
Oh, and yay! "Phillip's Woodland Watch" is a thing!
I agree. I could travel with either or both. I truly don't travel well with others but these w could keep up and mutual interests.
That's what I thought when I saw Philip's hair haha
Mine too
Philip has clearly become a good friend. Hope it is a lovely respite!
When you are reassembling the chandelier back at Lalonde, place soft cushions, blankets or piece of foam under the assembly area, so if any of the pieces fall, they won't break on a hard surface. Gorgeous chandelier!
I recently painted the frame of a chandelier from silver to gold and used thick layers of bubble wrap under it to cushion it. A thick layer of foam rubber works too. (Out of a cushion)
I have a beautiful orange marrano eight arm, Bentley wash with warm water dry completely, set on floor or table the order which assembly takes place, you’ll be more mindful and time will move along quickly. Enjoy I’m adding mounding into my French bedroom now. I love decorating.
The word Bentley should be gently
Hey Stephanie and Phillip, do yourselves a favor.
Ignore some of the negative comments.
As a therapist, I've noticed that at this point with Vivid, people are so looking for something to focus on to release their frustration.
You guys are wonderful.
Don't change!!
We love how down to earth they are not letting things get to their heads! They are so genuine & that’s why I love them all! Your right it’s usual the unhappy people making comments or just people wanting to see a rise out of them which is just nasty! The joy they have brought so many people & the good they do so out ways those few that need to move on or move out!!! ❤️🇨🇦
It's sad to see negative attention seeking, some only feel good if they're spreading their misery. Besides all of the other negatives of social media, it is truly the worst.
agree!
I released my frustration today by buying a moisturizer and a nice smelling shampoo from my favourite brand. It worked like a charm. Can you tell me "way to go" so that I will tell myself : "well, doctor said I had to?'. hahahaha
Who could ever say anything negative about anything on this channel? It’s so positive and wholesome.
What i love the most is Steph and Philip interaction...they are just like loving partner in crime siblings. I love how Philip take care of Steph and Steph low key always considerate towards Philip. This is genuine people...and with authentic self. I clearly get good vibes from them. I wonder what kind of person who would view them otherwise?
I am behind in the videos and so need to catch up. Are they having a romance too or are they just friends? That would be lovely. Also I missed why Stephanie was sick. Can you share what happened and I am glad to see she is better. I have to binge watch to catch up on the ones I missed. xo
@@Mar-iy8il i think they hv siblings love...
I really feel like Phillip and Stephanie have something going on in terms of a romance but I am not sure. All of their videos I just see these vibes between them and I’m like....waiting for the day. Lol
@@tanderson1143 I agree! They are in love!
@@Mar-iy8il I think they are dating. And lately in recent videos you can tell in the way she says "Philip and I" about everything.
I giggled so much when Phillip said "what we can take away from this, is that you should always listen to me" then again when he teased about the surprise. Very fun vlog. Thank You.
What a treat!!!!!!!! Loved all of it. Outings with Phillip are the best. The furniture and chandelier will be beautiful at Lalande!
The moment Stephanie set her marshmallow on fire and Philip almost had a heart attack...hahaha that was hilarious!!😂❤️
That chandelier is a real work of art!!!!
Philip is such a kind and thoughtful person , so sweet he is !
Oh I also like him
Dear Phillip has such an easygoing temperament and shows a sincere appreciation of such a lovely person as Stephanie.
Watching Steph and Philip's adventures in France is almost an otherworldly, dreamlike experience. Being so far from such international marvels makes me forget at times that they even exist. Thank you for allowing me to see the sights and hear the sounds of Sarlat!
Awesome journey, tagging along with STEPHANIE & PHILLIP. Totally enjoying the French countryside, Antiquing💕, surrounded by nature & fresh air, plus PHILLIPS amazing 🥰 🦌 🥰 🐑 idyllic Deer & Sheep video.
Thank you eversomuch💖
Oh Philllip you crack me up. You shall be our very next David Attenborough although set to Classical Music. You have such an old soul and I love listening to you. Thank you for looking after our Beautiful Stephanie today and coming to a screeching halt to the Antique Shop. Those pieces will look astonishing in the sulking room. This was the most amazing vlog to wake up to as yesterday I had my Spinal Surgery. They ended up doing 3 sections instead of just one. I have a scribe typing this for me as I am still a little (a lot) "High". Take care please Stephanie and get better quickly. I miss you, but Philip is a very good extra. All my love Suzanne and Pixie (my service dog). xxxxxxx
Thank you so much for you lovely words!! I hope you get better soon and I’ll light a candle in the chapel for your swift recovery as soon as we’re back at Lalande ❤️
@@philipjanssen Oh Philip - that would make my last 6 years. A candle just for me in a French Church is beyond my wildest dreams. (That and finally being able to have a shower..... lol) Bless you both xx
Sending you my best wishes please do take care of yourself . Agreed Phillip is very charming and a wonderful friend to Stephanie :)
Sending a little bubble of well wishes to you. I hope that your recovery goes well.
Wishing you a very speedy recovery. I don't know about you but I cannot wait for the next installment!
Of course Lalande has a resident unicorn! 🦄 It’s a magical place.
Right!?!?!?
Absolutely 💗💗
💕
I just love you two together: you both are like peas in a pod - so healing & refreshing - thank you for taking me on your adventures
Thank you for vlogging Stephanie! I enjoyed the foodmarket, church, historylessons, antiqueshops, sunshine, little sheep, pretty towns and good food, wine and marsmellows as if I was there with you. Thank you for all you do. Rest, laugh, enjoy, taste, explore and be happy friend 💕
Ooooh! Dear deer deary moi. What a superbly entertaining production. Merci my dear La Lande souls, you bring light into shaded times. Too all the gods and planets, let this ray of sunshine persist. 🦚🦔
So thrilled you’re enjoying the time in the area and at the cottage! Our entire family watched with afew tears because we are all so homesick and ready to go home. It warms our hearts to see the place being enjoyed and cared for! Xxxxx
Miranda, you have such a lovely cottage. It looks so idyllic both inside and out!
Oh that was kind of you to share and Steph needed to go!! I think I speak for many in saying thank you and much respect. I think things will open up soon.
Thank you so, so much Miranda! I feel like a new woman, your home is beautiful, peaceful, healing and yet surrounded by interesting, exciting things to visit. I’m in heaven! It’s so kind of you to let us stay here ❤️
Do you rent your little cottage?
@@dawndickinson1607 Hi Dawn, we don't at the moment - we share with with family and friends.
I love Sarlat, the Perigord and the Dordogne. Thank you for showing this area. And Philip is a total delight.
Stephannie, you being hungry is one very good sign! You are really now on your way to feeling better!
Love this lovely little village. TY for taking us there and for you and Philip giving us this tour. Loved learning about the saints and seeing the church as well. TY!
Yes, I think both Stephanie and Philip rolled themselves up to bed after that wonderful meal. I have added that market to the bucket list.
I have SUCH a crush on Phillip! He’s so lovely! What a lovely meal!
Understandable
I agree! But I don't have a crush on any person but I do see/appreciate their lovely personality, actuation, smile, striking a certain pose or facial expression. He has beautiful red hair? Is it red? I was marathon-watching a drama about Roxelana [wife of Suleiman the Magnificent]
He sure is a catch.
He's handsome but doesn't know what he's talking about with the marshmallows... Charred black and soft in the middle is the yummiest way to eat them 😋 hehe.
@@breakfastattiffanys741 agree. Char them black. Yum!
What an enjoyable episode from start to finish! The chandelier is stunning! ❤️
All I can say is well done Stephanie, Philip and Michael! And fantastic opening by Dan. I really don't know what I would do if you stopped vlogging, you and all Lalanders have become an important part of my life. God bless.
The finale was just “deer”🤠❤️
I loooove Sarlat! I recognized it right away in the thumbnail! Used to spend all my summers there growing up and and in my 20s! The market is awesome and there are so many nice things to see in the area as well. Castles, Prehistoric caves, museums, georgeous parks and gardens. Dordogne and it's kind people always have a special place in my heart.
Marshmallows are wonderful blackened!!!
@@alysrichardson9428 yes, charcoal is good for you :) oh yum...
Last week episode Des racines et des ailles, passion patrimoine, a programme of the TV5 channel, was dedicated to Dordogne. Wonderful region! Merci bien Philipe et Stephanie!
Respects that you have been and know the area. I don't fly other than very short flights so I'll never see except through others eyes. Stephanie has brought France into my study and you have helped bring the ambience of this particular area.
@@chasethecat3839 I'm french and used to live nearby so it helps! Now I live overseas and miss France a lot. I'm sure there are also beautiful places near your home. Sometimes it just takes being curious and some exploring to find hidden gems!
Marshmallow toasting hint: put it near glowing coals rather than flames. The coals heat the marshmallow through to the middle before the outside is ready making for the most gooey treat.
Nooo! the flame burnt part is the best!! 😋
Stephanie you looked beautiful standing in the door way before you went into the cathedral. Philip your hair looks so nice and shiny. Thank you for the education on the history of the town and cathedral.
This village in France looks like a Hollywood set. Being a citizen of the States I would bet that I have never been in any building/structure over 200 years old. If that even. Just incredible to think of what great Architecture they had 900 years ago and standing still today.
Oh there's more old buildings in America than you probably realize. Definitely NOT as many as in Britisn/France and other countries nor of the size usually. I never noticed until I started doing some biblical and historical research. Take a look around the next time you go to town. Usually its court houses or government buildings snx they usually have Roman features. Many in America have been torn down or lost in the Great fires (Baltimire, MD, CHICAGO, IL, San Francisco, CA, etc (and most Catholic and other churches are 100-200 years old but were destroyed in fires and rebuilt. As we do not have many specialty builders, they do not rebuild in that style or they rebuild over the initial structure. You can tell by the windows at basement level rdbuilt with a different brick of concrete. You have to look close. I have hundreds of photos of these old buildings. Sorry to go on..just very passionate about historical architecture. 🙂
I agree with you the US may not have as many vast buildings but my fav architecture is in the east coast.... oh the history.
The Merano glass chandelier was an amazing find, especially for that unbelievable price. Also the country side with all it's fresh air is the best medicine to recover. Great food, drink and the arts (architecture) also aid in recovery. Virtual hugs from Canada.
I was coveting that Murano piece! Amazing price.

A proper bargain !!!
Two special people sharing a wonderful experience. Thank you for letting us be part of a most amazing adventure. 🙏🏻❤️
Oh my best video ever! Love when you two take us places in France. It was wonderful. Thank you!! And Phillip, the deer were a perfect ending to a perfect video❤️❤️
I have to agree. I am tired of construction...
Phillip is such a dear fellow! Talented beyond belief and such an excellent companion for Stephanie at this time, you both melt my heart!
These are my favourite type of episodes.... Love discovering France!!
What a sweetheart Philip is to bring wood and s"mores!! How fun.
Forty years ago this summer I spent a few days in Sarlat, intrigued by the troglodyte houses, the truffles and pâté and the fact the town was a stronghold of the French Resistance. I don't remember if it was at the cathedral, but along the wall of one side of one of the town's churches was a line of bullet holes, chest high, where the Nazis executed many important members of the Resistance. I also attended an outdoor theater festival there. Thank you for jumpstarting these wonderful memories of my time in the Dordogne.
Wow !!! Very Interesting. 😃
Thank you for the additional history. Very informative and interesting.
That’s amazing history thanks for that:)
🌸Wow, thank you for adding to this beautiful story!
🙏🏻💗⚜️💔⚜️💗🙏🏻
"A Jug of Wine, a Loaf of Bread, and Thou" - The Rubaiyat of Omar Khayyam. Throw in some S'mores and you've got a little slice of heaven ;-)
My copy of Fitzgerald’s 1859 translation of this is “a jug of wine, a book of verse, and thou singing beside me in the wilderness, And wilderness is paradise enow”. Omar Khayyam was a poet, so the book of verse sounds right. I have loved it since childhood, know a lot of it by heart; my copy has the hand-tinted tipped-in illustrations in the 1920s style. 🇦🇺
Oh, please let's have more of such siteseeing, shopping day trips! Fantastic post.
This "Safarmi" was a Masterpiece!
Stephanie, Philip absolutely adores you, your in good hands having him watching over you, I hope you realise how lucky you are.
That stunning chandelier!!! My goodness it is fantastic, and the price you paid was practically a song in comparison to what you would pay through an interior design dealer or online. Such a treasure!!!
I miss france so much. This was balm for the soul!
Moi aussi
What a delightful place. The pastoral scene with the sheep confirmed every dream I have about the French countryside. I mean seriously...places like this do exist and not just in fairytales. And the market and village with all that wonderful food. Bliss. The antique shop-that chandelier-sigh....so gorgeous! You both deserve this respite and I am so grateful you shared it with us. I live in Texas and these glimpses into French life and your lives is such a treat. Also I thought it was really sweet of Philip to present you with S’mores! God bless you!
Philip look like one of the guys from the musketeers. I love the Abbey and the Town you were in oh my God got to go there. I am glad my ancestors did Vikings missed it.😉👍❤️😘
He is D'Artangnan 😀
I said exactly the same to my husband as we watched the video.. Philip does look like one of the musketeers.. 🤗
Yes, you truly are in paradise! Stephanie you are looking rested and relaxed already. Everything you selected at the antique shop is perfection. Phillip must brake at all antique shops, please.
Charred marshmallows is the way to go with S’mores. Love the 🦌 deer footage, Philip! So...darling! Such a beautiful get away. Maxwell’s Plum, New York City, 1970...after theatre artichokes with hollandaise sauce and wine. What else can one ask for..food,love, life and laughter. This video reminded me of the good old days! Enjoyed this so much!
That cottage is heaven, love the chandelier and chairs you bought!
Beautiful vlog. Such a lovely town, amazing food, perfect weather and Philip is just such a good and lovely friend. The cottage you were staying in looks really cozy and the perfect place to relax. Being away from all the rebuilds and renovations at home, which get loud and dusty, was a perfect idea. Doing what makes fun and don't think about what stresses you is very good for your health. Resting is important, but also having walks and being outside, especially in nature. ❤️❤️❤️ Some people don't understand that resting is not just laying in bed.
My grandson Dominic is 1 and loved the deer at the end Especially Dominic dear
Someone should send Philip a baby name book so that he has enough ideas for all his woodland creatures
Yeah, for that, too.....
Was waiting for Dennis the deer to appear😁
If you want geese I highly suggest Sebastopol geese. They are beautiful balls of fluffy white feathers, they would look magical on the la lande lake! They make great pets and guard animals.
I think that Stephanie would love this breed of geese since she alsoloves the curley chicken!
Ooo, I just looked at images of them. Stunning creatures.
What a pretty little place that cottage is in. I so love the ending with the animals❣️
What a wonderful place to rest! You have such wonderful people around you and helping you! Philip is a gem!!!
Murano chandelier for only 500 Euros... steal of the century. I would loved to have seen the price for the mirror on the wall behind the chandelier. Would it be so wrong to thinking of a fine venison cut whilst watching the deer? :) Good health to all Lalander's.
That mirror caught my eye as well!
Yes, lol
There was a piece of art on the wall just behind Stephanie’s head that I’m surprised didn’t catch her eye as well!
Yes..who’d want to kill such a graceful creature;luckily this is a rare occurrence in England.
Phillip's monologue at the end describing the deer!! Spot on!! Stephanie, on to better health and feeling better!!
When Stephanie caught the mallow on fire I started yelling "blow! Blow!" at the TV. hahahaha
Great shopping trip! The chandelier is amazing. We haven’t seen the LaLande flock lately, have they had lambs lately? Taking an empty jar to Marie😂🤣😂. Reminds me of when my parents brought all different sorts of sweets to my kids from a trip they were on. My son ate all his candy saving the wrappers to show his friend. 🤣😂🤣 Heaven forbid he might share his treats with his friend. Hope you’re getting lots of rest and are feeling better. Hilarious burning marshmallows, some people just like them that way. 🥰🙋🏼
Dogs can be trained to hunt truffles! Maybe Diesel can become the lalande truffle hunter in the forest!
We train pigs in Spain to find truffles. Apparently they love them. BUT that means you have to be really fast to grab them so the pig doesnt eat them all! 😅
Pigs do too! 🤣
In Berry ? I don't think so. No truffle in Berry. It's mainly in the South-west of France (Dordogne, Lot).
@@jean9009 that's sad, I thought they would grow all over France in the forests. I know they grow in parts of England. It still would be cool if diesel could find them because Selmar likes to travel around France anyway, they could find them and bring them back!
Oh those beautiful things you bought at the antique store.....can't wait to see them st La lande
My cats love the ending, watching the deer on TV!
The sheep look like the came alive off of a Spode plate. OMG!
May be silly but it was a favorite piece of this vlog for me. It just looked like a storybook picture and the sheep were so engaging
I expected the deer to come dancing out of the forest in tutus and leotard. :)
Stephanie, how do you remain so happy and positive? I wish I could be more like you!
Enjoyed. A beautiful town. Great shops. Your cottage retreat is very nice. Please rest more. Love to all ❤
I first experienced whole Artichokes in Maison Alfort France ( South East suburb of Paris )almost 40 years ago, prepared as you have done but served with a balsamic vinegrette in small bowls for dipping ~ so delicious !!!
Philip is so adorable.. He fits so well into the magical Lalande family
What a “deer” little ending to a most enjoyable vlog! Thank you for sharing your splendid outing - I wish I could have been there too. Phillip is such a beautiful soul with a gentle and compassionate heart. Wishing you a happy and swift recovery, Stephanie.

HAY! Phillip we are kindred spirits, I though I was the only one on the planet like minded! Oh my gosh that cottage! In that idyllic setting. And the market. Makes me want to go to France and stay at least a full year. That’s the only way to fully enjoy it.
I enjoyed this vlog so much, a great mix of the best of France, beautiful town and buildings, the markets, food and wine. Thank you both.

Wow.... Stephanie just reading through some of the comments. I wondered why you were keeping quiet about your health if it was not so serious. Now I know; the seriousness of the the debate is jaw dropping. Enjoy your stay and get some zen and do you love. You are a saint to keep doing your vlogs for the rest of us.
I haven’t had the opportunity to find out what happened to Stephanie, other than seeing her post whilst in hospital. My daughter just had a baby and, as a 70 year old grandmother, I’ve been a bit busy as a result. I was SO shocked to see Stephanie in hospital it took my breath away... something about her heart? If she considered the details private I would not pursue inquiry but evidently the details are out there. Please someone fill me in. Stephanie had grown dear to me for SO MANY reasons. Thank you 🙏
