He makes it look ridiculously easy with the timelapse stuff. But there are hours, and hours, and hours of hard work, patience, and tons of dedication, love and passion in every painting. Just admirable.
Not being an artist myself, I would probably need to live several lifetimes to come any where close to this guy. Like you said, the hard work and the dedication really Poor's out of these paintings.

Now "painting" is a craft of copying color photos using good brushes and a box of paints. Forget about such excesses as tonalism, impressionism, etc. even realism... Just copy meticulously. Maybe some composition should be recommended. And they will call you an Artist and praise.

I absolutely love how well your control of color is. I feel like so many other artists would be starting with a layer of same shade of pink then adding shadows and “contours” on top of that. Instead, you just jump straight in with the skin tones and associated shadow colors. Absolutely love.

Color is a talent in itself.
I can freehand draw really well,
But drawing in color,
pencils or paint,
Is a whole different level.
@@ALCRAN2010 I’m a colored pencil artist and yes getting the colors right is so damn hard. I just did a sketch of my girlfriend and I had to use 7 different colors to get the skin tone correct.
@@dbodooley , i've done fabulous life-like blue pen portraits of people. I'm hoping to pick up painting soon. I've found some good color theory videos on here. Good luck with your color pencils!
What I love about these tutorials is that there's no narrative, no long explanations of information that's either obvious or irrelevant, contributing to losing the will to live. It get's straight into the demonstration of application and technique. Love it. Will investigate the detailed tutorials that will presumably provide relevant narrative.

Your painting is going to the next level where you trust yourself what color go to each spot. It's bold to go that path. I called unreal, because it's unbelevable how much skill it takes to avoid uncanny valley.

Those tiny fine hair details on the left & right outer edges of her hair, and the fine peach fuzz hair details on the right side of her face on her temple (our right, not hers), plus the intricate details of her eyes and nose, really bring this pic to life. The highlights and shading are so dramatic. What a masterpiece! You are truly an extraordinary artist. Truly.
What’s wonderful and the mark of your genius is that in the first two minutes you’d captured the exact resemblance of the model. The rest was embellishment that made it lovelier! Thank you so much for this demo!

Very good "telescopic" effect with the blurred background. I do a lot of those with wildlife and they are tough!
Amazing work. Crazy how the tones look so right on that first pass - like the white of the eye being so dark looks so wrong when you first paint it but then is so right when you’ve painted further down the face.
