When our first thought is not what we want it to be, and you demonstrate this in your own life (with dashes of humor no less), you make me grateful that I am not alone in needing/wanting to strengthen my spiritual muscles. You had me gasping, "Oh no" in sympathy to the events and then laughing as you said "Hold on one quinkey-dink" .... Thank you God for the gift of humor. I had a 2 different situations with my boyfriend yesterday and today . I WAS REALLY, REALLY ANNOYED at him (and i believe i was justified in this ).
I decided i would thank God for what happened and did so (thru gritted teeth ) and IMMEDIATELY HE RANG ME after i did this (yesterday and today) AND he PUT THE SITUATION RIGHT between us...

This is soo difficult Vickie. Im struggling terribly with this w/ my sister. My dad is on Hospice for 2 weeks now & last Friday my sister & I had a misunderstanding that came out of nowhere. She blocked me & all I asked was for us to have better communication. She has turned my dad against me over a minor misunderstanding. He has become labile w/increased agitation since he has been taking meds. I have been taking care of my dad for years & my sister has been absent, but when she heard that the hospice nurse said he could go by July -BOOM she shows up & basically gets my dad to say to me for me to "take a break, she's gonna handle things". So, what now I have to be absent when my dad passes away? This pure agony. A kick in my face & a knife in my back. I feel my faith being tested. I just do not feel joy or love for anyone,. I have no idea how to forgive & bless them in this situation. I know that I must though. I've been praying for unity all day. I'm outside & alone. I said to Jesus please forgive in my forgiving & other like this. This sucks.
Dear in season and out of season! I totally get you! I recently had a similar experience with my stepfather! And my step sister showed up after we had been taking care of him for quite some time! The thing that helps me the most is sticking with the mindset of what's most loving in this part of the conversation. Just because they told you to go take a break doesn't actually mean that you have to! They don't have that kind of power over you! It sounds like that you have an emotional trigger going on which I totally understand and lived it for many many years! That's where the emotional hijacking takes place! So the point is they have no power over you! That's that second thought that overrides the first one! The first one feels like you're being dismissed ignored and disrespected. Well actually! That's true! They are doing that! But here's the thing... The second thought is wait a second despite what they're saying and what they are doing They have no power over me. I am an adult and I can make adult decisions in the name of Jesus! That's one perspective to hold... The second one is this and I pray this all the time for breakthrough!!! That is Isaiah 22:22! I pray over the situation and the people with this prayer! Heavenly Father you are the one who opens the doors that no one can close and closes the doors and no one can open... I think you right now for opening a door to be present to my father in this season of his life... I pray and thank you for opening up the door for my sister to open up her heart and her mind to doing what's loving and for her conversion, and liberation from all influences not coming from you... I pray that you send your word forth upon the situation and open up this door for Unity and healing in this family in the mighty name of Jesus Christ! I give you glory for the fruitfulness of this prayer! ✝️ This is how I pray these kinds of things and I see very very frequent open doors of healing! And surprising ways! Because what I've done is I take myself out of the picture and put Jesus into it! I speak scripture which is a living word upon the situation that moves supernaturally and not naturally! I pray this is helpful Keep in touch during this season of your life! I'm here backing you up! Praise be Jesus Christ now and forever! ✝️
