Cool facts about Barış Manço: he spoke 9 languages and sang songs in multiple languages. (Also he managed to get into the European charts in 1976 with Nick the Chopper and even landed on #1 in England, France and Belgium. Thus, in those countries he even was placed before Elton John, even in England.)
@@DeadSetOnDestruction no lies. I've read on multiple pages from different countries that it is as I said and his Single Nick the chopper was on #1 for 4 weeks. I just checked the list for the Charts of 1976 and couldn't find it there so I'm a bit unsure which is right but I'm beginning to think you might be right. The rest of what I stated is known facts though and even if the part with the charts is stated wrong on those pages he still was beloved in those 3 countries as well as Japan, obviously Turkey and more

First of all, thanks for sharing. Barış Manço have come from the Republic of Turkey history is one of the best rock and pop artists. In his art, he shows the Turkish culture and the emotional structure of our people in the best way. Actually, this song contains a love drama. The English of the words are written incorrectly on the screen, but the audience can feel that spirit when watching the video.
You watched Baris akarsu the other week you see Baris Manco influence in him straight off. This song is usually a traditional folk song played up beat at Turkish weddings. I’m glad you had a great time listening keep it rolling my man!

Hey dear Rob. Im glad u enjoyed from my recommend of ur 2nd Barış Manço review. He was huge during all his career long from younghood till he die and he is still great for us. He had a tv show named “from 7 to 77” (ages) during very kong time. His family turned his home into museum, I visited it in Istanbul three years ago, u need to see it man, his soecial accesoires, suits, ties, fantastic! I did not expect that u could make this video that quick, that was very nice of u 😉🤘

Translation fails but it's understandable coz the lyrics tell the story with a lot of colorful idioms in Turkish language. Also there are some old Turkish words making it harder for an auto-traslator (e.g. "basma" is some type of a clothing translated as "pressing"). The music, on the other hand, is our shared language.
This is his cover of an Anatolian folk song. The words are so deep I don’t think that even a proper translation can do justice.

But there are some translation errors...
* Come without hanging -> Come to me from asma (small grape yard/field which is inplanted to create shadow in front of traditional town homes front door entries)
* Dress in fistan without basma -> Dress in fistan made of basma ( fistan a traditional woman long kilt) ( basma is a colorful, comfortable fabric)
*You wear them, I wear red -> You wear white, I wear red (Turkish Flag colors, also indicating wedding dresses)
*We are not afraid of him,this -> We dont afraid from him or her (indicating families if they don't allow the marriage )
