Holy cow! A river that is not littered with branches, tangles of braid, broken Dos Equis bottles, and methy A holes blatantly snagging -that river is def not in MI lol😂.
I started going to Ohio for my main annual steelhead trip three years ago. More space to fish, nice river structures, and there’s more than five steelhead that live there.

Great video. I suggest you loosen drag slightly between fish and tighten after first hook set and initial run of the fish. Your line tension is awfully high for a while after first grab/hookset which is contributing to the fish coming off. Good luck
Another great video Dan, that first clip of river, is that over in the states? If it is I used to fish there all fall/winter and had great success fly fishing, there was a “gentleman” who lived behind there who used to tell us that he owned that section and would throw rocks at us and in the river to scare the steelhead away. Lol, sorry for the story, good fishing.

That’s not a real steelhead is it?
None of the rainbow trout that migrate from lake to river on the great lakes are steelhead by definition however they act and migrate much the same as their pacific side predecessors. This is why we feel compelled to call them steelhead.
