  • 9 Easy steps to grow gorgeous roses
Growing roses successfully is simpler than perceived with basic care and steps to follow. Also, monitoring them for diseases for gorgeous full bloom flowers
    1. Sunlight:
Whether you intend to plant roses in the ground or containers, they require ample sunlight and air circulation for vibrant leaves and profuse blooms.
    2. Soil pH:
Roses thrive in soil with a pH level that ranges from slightly acidic to nearly neutral.
    3. Watering:
    a) Ensure deep and thorough watering to encourage strong root growth that can withstand heat and drought. Maintain soil moisture by watering enough to keep it slightly moist, avoiding soggy conditions.
    b) The organic mulch around roses helps retain moisture. Water early in the day directly at soil level to keep leaves and stems dry, which helps prevent the spread of diseases due to wet conditions.
    4. Rose pruning:
    a) Wear protective gloves and long sleeves. Use loppers or hand pruners instead of shearing. Trim each branch back to an outward-facing bud. While roses can tolerate hard pruning, avoid removing more than one- third to one-half of the overall growth
    b) Remove any old, diseased, or dead wood by cutting affected branches down to the base of the plant. Enhance airflow within the shrub by eliminating crossing or rubbing branches in the centre.
    c) Always prune back to an outward- facing bud. You can safely remove up to half of the growth from the centre to improve air circulation
    5. Fertiliser:
    a) Roses require essential nutrients including nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, calcium, magnesium, and iron for optimal growth.
    b) A balanced 10-10-10 ratio of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium (NPK) is generally advised for roses, but it's important to conduct a soil test to determine if adjustments are needed for specific nutrient levels
