  • No crank, no start, no accessory power. No dash power, no key fob communication with vehicle.
Very common issue with these vehicles is water gets in through the back window. The radio frequency module is located behind the rear seats of the vehicle. Module gets exposed to water and burns out circuit board. Fix: Replace module with new and reprogram keys to the new module. #chrysler #dodge #cars

Are you able to fix this issue? I thought only the dealer was able to replace the RF module due to some proprietary programming thing they do.

Sad a major corporation can’t figure out how to stop water from coming in back window for years

Same thing happened to my 2022 Ram Bighorn

Yeah it’s pretty common. I believe some models have a recall to install a water barrier over the module.

You can get alphaobd its 49.99 and is chrysler specific and it does alot from programing keys to all the other modules .

Not a bad idea at all. But I believe the dealer has a recall to properly reseal the area.

Hi yes this resolved the issue. And I’m not the one who did the key reprogramming so I’m not to sure how it was done exactly sorry. Locksmith came out and took care of it.

@@germangenzelis6276 I believe they had a recall for this issue. To reseal the area the module is located in.

Any of those newer rams need a special scan tool and either a subscription to AutoAuth ($50 a year) or the 12-8 adapter cable that goes to the Secure Gateway Module. I do a lot of Ram, so I have the subscription and use the autel im508. It’s pretty easy. Without the subscription or cable, you can’t do anything bi directional and are limited to reading codes.

Sorry for the late reply I didn’t get the notification. Yes original keys can be reprogrammed to the new module.
