By the way, the left earbud disconnection has nothing to do with your phone. Upon my research of why that was happening I found out that Bose actually uses master-slave connection for these buds. So, right one is master, connecting to the phone, and it relays the sound to the left one. So the connectivity issue is purely between left/right earbud, not the phone to earbud.
The most annoying part is that on the official forum some representative was suggesting to "as much as you can, remove obstacles between the earbuds".... Like my head, I presume?

I have had these for a couple of years and I agree that they are the best sounding earbuds that I have found and I find that they have a very good battery life. I have used them on flights up to three hours or so without issue. I don't know what you mean be degradation, mine still look and function like new. What I do find annoying is that the software or firmware is very poor. There are two particular features that annoy me. First, if I'm waiting on a call the earbuds will time out very quickly, I think it's about 10 minutes but even if it's 20, that's not a very big window when the earbuds can potentially function for a few hours. The other thing is that only right earbud functions for calls. What if you're deaf in your right ear? What if your right ear is just tired? And why not play a call through both buds? At least make it an option. I still like them and for sound quality alone, I keep them.

sound is great but if you thinking of buying them for on a bike ride or run DONT !!
it will sound like your skydiving and you will increase the sound and destroy your hearing.
great for in a gym or other sport where your not outside with fast moving air.
i have no idea why nobody is talking about this very big down side, i very much regret buying them for my bike.

I agree. So did you get other earbuds to replace? How do they compare to Bose? I’ve had the same problem by the way and even after a replacement and update to 2.6 still problems persist. Thanks

You had to have had a faulty product.. I've had mine for 2 years and in that time there's probably been a combined time of 15 days where I haven't used them.. I use them almost every single day.. and HONESTLY have never a had a problem. I've even asked people how the quality of my call was while using them and they didn't even know I was using Bluetooth and I've tested it myself by calling my home phone. My only complaints are that you can use the app to find your headphones but not your case and they're a little bigger than I'd like but I've still never had a better pair of headphones. If you could find them for cheap I'd give another pair another shot because In 2 years I've never had the problems your talking about.

Things are trash now because of greed, such as the cell phone companies making all these updates taking up storage space so that they are unusable and have to go out and buy a new one of whatever it is you had..

6 months ago with a review for Bose SSF, isn't that a little too late since it has been around for years? The SSF was my daily driver years ago but I had moved on to Sony, B&O, Jabra, etc. Now, the one I use most of the time is Soundcore Liberty 2 Pro and that make the SSF 4 generations ago of tws I used.
The three things I wished SSF had were individual use between left and right ear, noise canceling and no lacking when washing VDO. The new 700 will have noise-canceling so I hope that they'll address the other two problems as well.

Had mine for a few weeks, had to return them. I was very sad returning them because the sound is phenomenal, they look great and fit great, but the connectivity issue was just mind boggling to me.... The left earbud CONSTANTLY kept fading out and in, even with all the latest firmware. Indoors it wasn't bad, but if you are planning to use them outdoors, especially somewhere within a big city, it's a hot mess. I've spent hours upon hours on official forums trying to figure out if it's fixable and apparently it's just the way they are. They are very prone to interference, which made the experience absolutely disappointing.

I’ve had my Bose Soundsport Free ear buds for two years and they work great sound wise; however the rubber buttons desegregated so now I don’t have control over them. Are you aware of a repair?

Ive owned these headphones for about 2ish years and I have never had problems with the music cutting out on the left bud. I have also never had issues with the volume for music. However, whenever I take a call while wearing them, audio only plays out of the right headphone. It's not a HUGE problem but it's definitely offputting when you're used to the audio coming out of both buds. I also wish they had an ambient sound function like the Samsung buds, but for the price the sound quality of music is absolutely phenomenal. Especially now that they're under $150.

I used to have Bose Soundsport Free for only a year and the rubber button control started falling apart which made me very upset :( But luckily I pick up the latest Apple Airpods Pro 2 which barely came out. I don't understand why Bose will make the buds $200 if the buttons are poorly built unlike the Airpods where the Airpods have built in fingerprint controls which are much easier. Bose Soundsport Free aren't worth it because the Airpods 1st generation already came out before the Bose.

Actually, BOSE did represent a premium quality and built, when they were still made in USA 15 years ago. Now its made in China, and god knows what quality control goes on there, even with Bose American employees supervision at the China plant. There are unbranded China earphones for $20, why not buy that instead, it probably has the same chips and parts as the Bose made in China at $199. If its not made in Germany, made in USA, they have no right to charge a premium price with it. I use an unbranded China waterproof earphones I bought for $30. I’ll be skipping Bose because $199 just doesnt make sense.
